Amazon Warehouse Deals Thread X

Simple removal. Remove the sticker, then use the sticker repeatedly over the sticky residue until it is all gone. My Madden had the sticker issue and it's as good as new now... as if the sticker was never there. No water, no goo gone wasted.
The circle stickers don't really do that. They make it worse if you try to use it against itself.

What do you guys think is a good price for a LN Littlebigplanet 2 CE? I was able to snag one earlier but I'm trying to decide if I want to keep it.  I don't remember ever seeing one on AWD.  What price have you guys seen them at (if at all)? Thanks.

I cancelled that one myself last night. It was like $32 when I ordered it I think, maybe a bit more. They've been cheaper, just not in a couple months and that just feels like way too much to me personally.

I think several months ago, during those crazy deals, the CE went for like less than 5 bucks or something crazy at least.

Might wait for others to chime in though

I know the base game keeps popping up for 2 bucks but I always miss it!! :wall:

The older model is superior , why would people want a downgrade?

I wouldn't want to trade an OLED screen for an LCD screen.

OLED screens were a step in the right direction.
I'm on the fence about whether or not I want to trade in my OLED. I'll decide. I have 3 vitas anyways and I wouldn't mind trading one of them in for a longer battery slimmer one to be honest but I'll hold onto it so the value goes up to the point where I can get the other one for a very good price out of pocket.

How much did you pick it up for if you don't mind me asking?

The bookends are eh. I have both those and mk bookends, and mk ones are sooo cool. LBP2 are just like cardboardy kinda cheap.

I got like 10 of the plushies at bbv a year ago for 90% off, lol, like $2 each. gladiator ones too, lol. too much credit not enough sense.

For those of you looking for the PS4's, are you planning on getting a warranty through a third party company on it? I don't think I could ever bring myself to buy it used knowing Sony won't do anything to help you if it breaks. Then again, this is coming from someone who had a PS4 at launch break on him due to the HDMI problem some of the hardware had.

I've been permanently having an extra window open with an auto-refresh looking for the PS4's to go in-stock (which is why I've been the first one to post them for the last week) but I'm starting to think I might just save the frustration of hunting and the warranty and just buy new. I have a $100 in Best Buy credit so it'd be essentially the same price as buying it from Amazon at my $300 price point...

I've just heard so many stories about PS4s breaking already. After buying a FairTrade warranty I wouldn't be saving much.

I noticed someone else beat me to it, but holy crap, those stickers they're putting on things lately leave so much residue when you peel them off. They're almost as bad as the Gamestop/EB Games stickers from years past. I can easily see how they could rip the material of the boxes they're placed on.

And no, I'm not spending money on Goo Gone just to remove AWD's stickers. I'll just not buy any video games from them unless the price is that much better than elsewhere (and leave them some feedback regarding it in hopes they won't continue using them). Seriously, who the hell thought they needed to start using these stickers?

Honestly I think you're going to know within that 30 days whether you've got a dud or not if you're actually using it. If you're buying it to let it sit then that's just silly anyway.

Goo Gone is .... really cheap. Might as well pick up a small bottle.

Dude, it's $1 for a bottle that will last most people years. I've cleaned somewhere close to 1,000 games over the last six months and even spilled the bottle once and I'm still at around a quarter bottle. The round stickers are there to reduce fraud and theft and the other ones are there because the products are in multiple warehouses across the country and need to be able to be individually identified by the person picking them. If you can't spare $1 and a few minutes for a complete game at a noticable savings I'm not sure why you're even looking at AWD.

Yep, I got a large squirt bottle of Goo Gone for less than 5 bucks, I've used it on almost 100 or more game cases alone and it doesn't even look like it has been used.

Unless it expires or something, I'll never run out

I got a brand new ps4 for $320 on release.

It didn't work. I had to send it to Sony. Got it a week later.

Amazon credited me back $80 without asking for a dime. Since everyone is posting their PS4 prices.

You can buy Goo Gone for under $5... Or you can always use lighter fluid if that's around your house. Works just the same.

Not always. My buddy's launch PS4 just stopped reading discs last week. It's sort of a better safe than sorry thing. However, this might be because I've always owned 360's, therefore, I'm used to my gaming systems having a high failure rate. Microsoft has ruined me!

Also, I'd argue that the system is too new to know how they will act in a year. No one has any clue how PS4s hold up after 5 months since they're so new. As unlikely as it is, all PS4s can turn into a black hole engulfing your whole living room at the 7 month mark. THERE'S NO TELLING!

Well yeah, but the 360 thing was a larger systemic issue that was outside of normal expectations. Most consumer electronics under normal conditions either show their problems very early on or last through their normal expected operating life. Then again I'm rather anti-warranty on most things because they tend to be a bad deal statistically.

No, I hear you. I've never purchased an extended warranty in my life. Just not having the standard manufacturer's warranty is what makes me shaky. Those those are typically there because shit happens within that first year. If the console had been out for a year or so and I could see how well they hold up with a certainty, then not worrying about a warranty would be easy.

$300-$400 is a big purchase. It might just be worth it for me to shell out an extra $70 to buy a new one than to get a used one without a warranty and have it die out on my in 7 months. Then I'd just be out all together. Ya dig?

Oh yeah, you've got a perfectly valid point and I waffled on it for a bit before passing on getting it for mine.  Whenever people ask me it usually comes down to whether having it will help you sleep better at night.

Where's a good place to get a small amount of Goo Gone for a few bucks at most, then? Cursory internet searches have always brought me to larger bottles that cost $5-$10 and I'm cheap enough to where I didn't think it was worth it just to remove a few stickers here and there.

Shit, I plan on stomping on my PS4 right before my GS warranty comes near an end. :p

Target.

My buddy said when he bought his GS warranty on his 360, he knew the worker. He said once a man came in and he told him "we will replace it regardless. Take it outside, smash it, I'll replace it." The guy did it and they replaced it.

Yep, it's right in those $1 bins at the entrance of the store.

Really would have been funnier if he didn't replace it.

But don't get me wrong. My cheapess will more than likely take over if I see one pop up for close to $300 if I don't buy it new first.

Target, Walmart, CVS, Big Lots, Rite Aid, Ralphs, Vons, Sears, etc. I'd bet that anywhere that sells lightbulbs would sell cheap things of Goo Gone. It's worth the investment for sure.

Dollar Tree had small bottles for $1 last I was there.

Funnily enough, I work in the back room at Target and have never seen Goo Gone at the Dollar Spot area. Guessing my store doesn't carry it, or it's in extremely low demand and I've never had to pull it from the back room in the 2+ years I've been there. Either way, I'll have to keep an eye out for it next time I'm there. Thanks.

just make sure you pay for the additional "piss protection". that way you'll be protected when sony pisses all over us with the free ps+ games.

If you have a gf/wife, just borrow her nail polish remover, dilute ~50%, works just like goo gone.

Does this work with normal fingernail polish remover? When I've borrowed my girlfriend's to remove sticky stuff, I make sure to use her "100% acetone" remover just because I know acetone can/will remove anything.
