I picked up the Good one that said just that, "Fully Playable game is included, downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional puchase. Packaging may be damaged."

Sounded fair to me, so I decided $329 and I can stop searching for one is good enough. I hope it's a dinger, can always return if the system is damaged.

I hear ya. I was tempted just because it was the cheapest one I've had a shot at so far. but I'd probably want a FairTrade warranty on it just to cover my bases. At that point it'd be so close to the cost of a new one it wouldn't be worth it for me.

Exactly. And if you use your amex or visa signature (and who knows what else), you can get double the warranty for free.

Yeah just call your credit card company to be sure. I'm pretty sure all visa signature cards and amex have extended warranty protection.

I get double warranty (up to 1 year additional) on my amex, citi preferred (non-signature), amazon visa... and maybe my discover though I'm not sure.

I usually put every electronics purchase on my amex or amazon visa (which is signature). Even when I have, say, BB credit, I'll still put electronics on my card for peace of mind.

From what I can find, my card will extend the manufacturer's warranty by a year. It doesn't sound like they'd extend the Fair Trade warranty.

What's the item description say?

Could mean exactly that, the DS is kinda beat up/scratches. Could be just the console or it could be a brand new item with beat up packaging aka dinger

It means it's not Good, Very Good or Like New.

The best thing you can do is read the description. It might have scratches, it might be missing a charger or it might just have a banged up packaging.

EDIT: Assuming you're talking about the blue 3DS XL that was posted, it says "May not include manual, cover art, or case. Full game is included, but bonus downloadable content may have already been redeemed." That could really mean anything. You might receive the 3DS wrapped in bubble wrap in a box or you might get lucky.

Nearly everything is a gamble on AWD. I've received non-working "Like New" games. I've received "Very Good" collector's editions with missing parts and I've received "Acceptable" games that even still have all downloadable codes untouched.

I'm a little late to the party today but I see Golden Sun is still available! It's oh so tempting.

I have fond memories of playing that one under shady trees on breezy summer days...

I would have bought that Disney Infinity game. I missed the crazy Walmart glitch. I was disappointed that Amazon didn't have the 360 version on black friday. I guess I'll wait for Best Buy to clear out their stock of the starter kits, however long that takes.

now to see what game they packed with it

don't feel too bad...I just dropped my iphone into a cup of water and the thing won't work now so I'm not really ahead by any means

Meh, say what you want about them. I use windows 7 all day long at work. Windows 8 (outside of a surface) is an absolute joke of an OS by an absolute joke of a CEO (Steve Ballmer), windows 7 is great but I still prefer OS X at home. I had an android for a bit, it was fun for a couple days then I realized what a crappy OS it is outside of vanilla android.

I'm not an apple fanboy but I'm sure I come off as one. I can understand that they have a closed ecosystem and for those who must spend their lives customizing instead of using I can understand that.

They're overpriced to a degree but have amazing build quality.

Other than those two things tell me a flaw?
