went to get this last night, and my best buy already got rid of the mags for the new ones. the guy gave me $5 off, and i didn't want to say no since he was really trying to be helpful. i returned this morning, and told them i was going to buy used at gamestop with my 20% powerup coupon. the guy matched the gamestop price with my card discount and the coupon. so, even though it was a little higher than new with the coupon, i was still happy with the experience.
What the

is it with companies putting out collections, then making a portion of them download only?

Not everybody has super fast internet, plus some of us prefer to have actual physical discs so we can resell them if we get bored and don't wanna keep them as part of some dusty collection.
It's like the God Of War III Ultimate Edition with the Pandora's Box replica. Here it came out with all of the extras being download codes. In Europe, not only were all of those extras on CD's or DVD's, but they even threw in the God Of War Collection game with their version in it's full retail packaging and on a disc.
It just seems like the US gets short changed on these collections and some CE's at times.
Even in the God Of War Saga that just came out, the PSP games that were released for PS3 and have a physical disc version out were back to being download codes? Seriously? Like plunking an extra Blu-Ray into the package would cost them that much at this point?
i don't think it has anything to do with the extra disc being made. it's more like the online pass situation. just an incentive for people to buy new over used. since, more than likely, the code inside will already be redeemed inside a used copy.
