I'm getting a DS soon and was wondering what the best case for it was. Which ones do you guys have, or would recommend? And are there any good ones that can hold the system while still being played? Thanks.

If you can, try to snatch the leather case that came with the Crimson bundle. It's great, and looks sharp too. There's also some elastic straps on it so you can attach it to your DS, though I've never that extensively.

Only problem is the game slots are a real tight fit if brand new. After a while you work them in and inserting/removing cartridges becomes easy.

First get one of these:

May be hard to find, but well worth it. I think CC (BOO @ CC) had a case that was the same by another company without the skins for $10. I don't use the skins on mine, just the case and it is great. Its just a plastic covering that really protects the DS from scratches and stuff.

As for a case, this is what I use:

They have different colors (Pink, Black Dark Blue) and always seem to be in stock in your local BB.

As far as holding games I had these (they worked well with the case I listed above):

But as my game collection grew I needed something bigger and better, I (as well as countless people on CAG) got this awesome case:

It may be more than you need now, but it never hurts to plan for the future!

Anlso do not forget a screen protector. People here love the Hori one you get from play-asia. I have and like the Pelican one:

Every DS owner needs:

-Hori screen protectors here. The number one screen protector. Don't buy those crappy accessory sets at Walmart.

-ArmorLite case here.

-If you require further casing, you can get a cheap case. This is a good one, but with the ArmorLite, any case will do.

-Game card case here.

-Finally, for best gaming you should pick up one of these styli sets. Very nice set, makes playing your DS much more comfortable.

Thanks for the great suggestions. I'll definitely be getting the Armorlite case now. But could you tell me more about the Touch Pen Attachment? What makes it more comfortable? And for the screen protectors, I got the Pelican ones from Gamestop.

The armorlite case is nice but I wish it was more like the Playgear Pocket for the PSP so I could remove the system when I want to play. I don't like the extra bulk it adds. It was a bitch to get off the system as well. I just use a hori pouch now.

ArmorLite is a great case, IMO. It is meant to stay on the DS all the time, but it protects the outside of the DS. I like it a lot.

The Touch Pen Attachment just makes holding the stylus much more comfortable. It is thicker and longer than the normal stylus. Basically, you get two extendable styli and one attachment. You put the stylus into the attachment, and that makes the unit. If the stylus breaks, you have a backup. It has a bit of a grip to it as well.

I use the Dual Folio Case at Circuit City for 10$ It holds 9 DS and 9 GBA games as well as a pouch for extra styluses and cleaning cloth.
