So, I have my PS3, and I want some PS2 games to play with friends and my little sister.

So I'm looking for multiplayer (online or offline) and co-op games for the PS2. Can be split screen or just online.

Age group and genre doesn't matter so long as it has those two. Quality games are preferred, but I'll consider those 70+% games if they have co-op since co-op can usually save those games.

So far I've got Killzone 1, which doesn't work online since I need a network configuration disc.

I'm thinking about getting a socom game, but I'm not sure which one to get.

Something for kids would be nice too, since my little sister needs something to play.

The PS2 version of Half-Life and Red Faction 2 have co-op modes. Also try X-men Legends 1 and 2, Guitar Hero 2, and the Red Star.

thats a second for xmen legends 1 and 2, red faction 2, and most of the dynasty warriors games.

Here some pretty good multi-player or co-op games

Alien Homid
Burnout 3
Capcom Classic Volume 2-king of dragons, knights of round, street fighter
dance dance revolution-depends on which song you like(must get dance pads)
Dragon Ball Budokai 3
dynasty warriors 5
fight night round 2 or 3
Lego star wars 1 and 2
Lord of Rings return of king
guitar hero 1 or 2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance(if you don't mind the loading character customization)
Metal Slug Anthology
naruto (if you like the anime)
samurai warriors 2
sega genesis collection- golden axe 1-3
time crisis 2 and 3(must get guncons)
time splitter 2 or 3
x-men legend 1 or 2(if you don't mind the loading character customization)
wining eleven 2007(if you like soccer)
wwe smack down vs raw 08

For coop with the kids, I'd go with Legos Star Wars 1&2

(I know it was already mentioned, but it was buried in with a bunch of other games...I thought they deserved special mention for kids)

Monster Hunter is great online with buddies. If you've ever wanted to take down an angry dragon with a FFVII-sized buster sword in real-time then it's a must-buy.

You can't play Killzone 1 online with a PS3? I thought you could once you download the PS2 configuration application from the PSN Store.

Definitely Lego Star Wars 1 & 2...

Also I'd recommend:

We Love Katamari - split screen play in versus mode
Ratchet & Clank (Up Your Arsenal & Deadlocked) - online play / split screen play
Red Star

How young is your sister? I thought Shrek 2 was pretty good (although it seemed way too long). 4 player max.

Urban Reign (with the unlocked co-op mode). tough game.
Darkwatch (FPS, horror genre)
time crisis 2 or 3 (instant fun if you can afford it or find it cheap)

I never really liked the X-Men Legends/MUA games just because they're more chaotic than anything. I'd say skip the first one.

My first choice would be the Katamari series. Also, I really enjoyed Alien Hominid. It was reminiscent of old-school sidescrolling co-op shooters like Contra. And finally, Darkwatch was one of my favorite, if not my favorite, FPS of last gen. I don't know a whole lot about its multiplayer factor, but this one probably would not be good for your little sister.

Bravo! You can play it with two separate controllers as well, but what's the fun in that?

Yeah Cookies & Cream would be a good one to play with the lil' sis. I thought it was actually pretty fun.
