What's the best place to buy padded envelopes for cheapest price? Also wondering if it's okay to ship from a different town than is associated with your Ebay items sold.

I heard you cannot ship games in bubble mailers using Paypal because they don't offer large envelope, they offer thick envelope. Anyone know how to do this so they still accept the package and give you DC? I heard you need to make the package over 3/4" thick if you want to send it via Paypal but large envelopes can't be over 3/4" thick.

Never had any problems. Choose Thick Envelope / Package under options.

Also ship first class if it's under 13 oz.

As for a place for bubble mailers, search ebay cause you can get mailers in bulk for around .10 - .15 a piece. (the more you buy the cheaper they get - around 100 should be plenty)

Search for sizes #0 or #1.

#0 is enough for 1 DVD case or game. #1 you can fit 2, maybe three games or DVD's

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Can anyone else comment on this:

I'm guessing that if I do over 3/4" thick I will be okay and be charged package price?

never had a problem and i sent and received many package. Also try getting them here

Good price if you do a big order

Did you guys put extra padding in or just do the bubble mailer alone? I will try doing Package/Thick Envelope on Paypal then. Thanks!

My procedure has always been to load up the mailer and seal it. Then weigh it and print postage from PayPal with the thick envelope rate. Most games/dvds go in without any additional padding and come up between 5 and 8 ounces.

I have never had a problem shipping video games, movies, and moderate sized lots of trading cards by selecting Package/Thick Envelope. I am unsure about the 3/4 inch rule...some post offices won't make a deal of it, but I have had others to scorn me about it. I normally put one of the packing peanuts in the package to thicken it up...they add a negligible amount of weight. I have never had any buyers report having to pay any extra postage on their end, so it may not be an issue.

What do you mean by packing peanuts? How did they scorn you?

You know the foam peanuts placed in many packages? I often save a few to put in the envelopes. I will place one or two in a package to thicken it up at one spot since it doesn't need to be uniformly thick.

As for the scorning, I have had a couple of postal workers to tell me that the package had to meet the thickness requirement for the DC...they asked me to thicken the package so the person on the receiving end wouldn't incur any additional charges (although, I have never had anyone report having to pay any charges on their end for packages that I forgot to thicken). Two workers refused to mail it as is and I had to thicken it up before they would accept it. I had one lady to open a package for me (with my permission), add some paper to thicken it, reseal it, then accept it for mailing. You could simply place the packages in the collection bins without going to a postal worker, but since the post office lost a rather expensive package of mine last year, I ask to have every package scanned in for proof that it was left at the post office.
I picked up two 25-count boxes of #2 bubble mailers from Target's bulk-sales event that's going on right now. $5.99 each.
Damn things were $6.99 here. Still one hell of a deal.

I've never had a problem using paypal thick envelope rate for CDs, from single CDs, to single games, DVDs, etc. I just buy cheap mailers from eBay and ship in there, though I am almost out of my larger ones so I should probably do another order.

For 3-4 items from the same buyer I usually just do combined shipping and upgrade to the small flat rate box or envelope. I have fit up to 7 CDs in one flat rate priority envelope. The price increase is usually 1 or 2 bucks at most and the buyers end up super happy with the fast mailing.

That's useful information Fox. Thanks for contributing. So if someone bought 2 items from you that were $3 shipping each, you'd do something like $1 off if they combined shipping on them and you'd save almost $2 in the process. Do you put CD's in those flat rate envelopes that have no padding in them?

I do the flat rate envelope for like 5-7 CDs - but I usually wrap everything in used bubble wrap or old envelopes from stuff I ordered to give it a little layer of protection. I also reinforce the outside of the envelopes with clear packaging tape at the corners and sides to give it a little more strength.

For 4 or less CDs I use the new small flat rate box, which fits up to four CDs confortable and costs the same as the envelope. I don't usually put any padding in those outside of old magazines crumpled up to fill in any dead space.
