No Gamezebo review of this game. ( I wonder why?!)

Cnet said this:

"This platformer turns a quest to collect fruit into a lesson on healthy foods. You play Frutti Freak, a guy who needs to gather all the bananas to clear the level and open the portal to the next one. If you eat 100 strawberries, you gain a life. Beans fuel higher leaps, with an appropriate sound effect. You can toss tomatoes at enemy cakes and cheeseburgers. Clocks add time, while lemons add points. The audio looping could be smoother, but the music is quite good. The 2D graphics are appealing, too. Our major problem with this game is it completely lacks any sort of user-customization options. The trial could be longer, but you get enough gameplay to make up your mind. Frutti Freak is worth a look, so long as you can deal with its rather standard gameplay and nonexistent feature set."

"Cathy's Caribbean Club is a natural winner, especially as spring breezes start to finally fill the air. If you're interested in getting summer started early, what can we say? Mosey on up to the keyboard, pour yourself a tall one and get ready to quench your thirst for fun."

Pros: Theme; Handling; Ability to queue actions; Range of power-ups; Sound effects and music

Cons: Cathy's head occasionally obscures view; Grammatical errors; Customers' constant warbling

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

There is no daily deal at this time today. I am not sure if they are having technical difficulties with it or if they are canceling the program. I'll keep checking with them as the day goes on to see...

So disappointed there is no deal today. I look forward to them and have purchased many. I checked the website & they are still advertising the deal so hopefully it's just a glitch. Thanks for posting them everyday Ott!!

Gamezebo review:

"Every so often, after a hard day at school or work, you desperately need time to unwind. An antidote to all the frantically crazed arcade-style adventures out there, leisurely-paced jigsaw puzzle challenge Jig Art Quest serves as just such an opportunity to chase the blues away. Despite a few minor setbacks - e.g. eccentric backdrops, a slightly cumbersome interface and curious New Age styling - it's a fine way of catching your breath between everyday emergencies, and idly passing the hours."

The offer is back up! Finally! Jig Art Quest... a curious puzzle game. Kind of unusual even for a jigsaw game. But at least the $2.99 offer is going again!

Gamezebo review:

"But the reality is simply as follows: Occasional rough edge aside, the stunningly rendered and sweeping Southwestern-flavored soundtrack bolstered Westward III promises countless hours of happy adventuring on the open range. That goes double when you factor in collectible trophies and support for open-ended Sandbox play in three separate forms (relaxed pace scenarios, disaster-dodging options and bandit-foiling escapades, to be specific). As such, it’s sure to have fans of frontier escapades, tactical challenges and virtual dollhouses all screaming “yee-haw” with excitement, indeed."

Pros: Intuitive approach to real-time strategy. Sparkles with personality. Overall production values. High degree of replayability. Depth and challenge. Lots of little surprises to discover.

Cons: Repetitive sound bytes. Scattershot difficulty. Pathfinding issues. Can’t speed up the action. Next steps not always clearly defined. Necessary time commitment.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"The gossip celebrity angle of Paparazzi puts an extremely cool new spin on tried-and-true formats that have already proven to be popular in other games. Quibbles aside, the game is a fantastic debut that could easily form the premise for a healthy and long-running series."

Pros: Great story and level design; Fast-paced; Items to find actually tie in to story

Cons: Fairly easy to complete

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"If you like the Law and Order adventures and don’t mind the language, Art of Murder: FBI Confidential should be a satisfying point and click mystery. However, if you judge games in this genre mostly on the quality of the puzzles, you should give this one a miss."

Pros: Complex, well written mystery. Excellent atmosphere and voice acting. Good length and location variety.

Cons: Tedious trial and error puzzles. Some illogical gameplay. Four-letter words may offend some players.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Art of Murder isn't a typical casual game. It's a full-fledged adventure game that had a retail release in 2007. I've seen mixed reviews, but it's hard to go wrong for $3.

I couldn't find any reviews of this game. You could always watch the gameplay video at the Big Fish link or download a trial if you aren't sure about it but have some interest. I watched the video and it is different than most games out there. Without playing it, I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing, though.

Once again, this game is before Gamezebo's time...

I've played it, however. It plays very much like Feeding Frenzy. There are also mini-games in it, one similar to Collapse.

Out Of Eight PC Game Reviews did review it. They gave it a 7 out of 8. Here is their summary of the game:

"Feyruna - Fairy Forest is a well-designed, well-executed, and (most importantly) fun arcade game. The controls are so simple that anyone can enjoy the game, and Feyruna - Fairy Forest features constant action and appropriate difficulty for each successive level. Feyruna - Fairy Forest shows that a good idea can go a long way in making and entertaining game. The new spells and enemies that are gradually introduced combine to form a cacophony of chaos for the end-game. And once you’re done, you can enjoy the mini-games that are almost good enough to stand on their own."

Gamezebo review:

"Rainbow Web II is a very enjoyable puzzler that offers quite a bit of increasingly challenging gameplay spread across 82 levels and two modes. But the fact it's so similar to the first game, and that the mini-games are kind of lame, this sequel may not be enough to satisfy fans of the original."

Pros: Addictive and challenging match-3 game-play. Many hours of play. Mini-games a nice touch. Great music. Two game modes.

Cons: Not too different than first game. Mini-games over way too fast.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

I really enjoyed playing this game when it came out. Despite the review above, I liked the mini-games and thought they were a nice change of pace to the regular gameplay. And the Match 3 puzzles themselves were fun. With the whole web structure, spotting matches is very different than playing a Bejeweled clone. The story is kind of silly but at least it gives you a reason to keep playing.

Gamezebo review:

"Perhaps it's better not to think of Floating Kingdoms as a strategy game at all, but rather a collection of mini-games. Of the games on offer, mah jong is most enjoyable. The rest are just very basic iterations of formats that have been done countless times before, with more detail and depth, in other standalone titles. As a package, Floating Kingdoms takes a creative approach to the strategy game format but can start to feel monotonous over long play sessions."

Pros: Wonderful animations of buildings being constructed. Unique use of mini-games to gather resources.

Cons: Purchased items don't carry over to the next level. Scenery barely changes. Gameplay lacks variety.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"The biggest draw to Heartwild Solitaire is the story. Many times, I wanted to yell at the protagonist. She certainly has interesting taste in men. It was the story which really drove me to keep playing.

If you set the story aside, the game play itself is fairly typical. There are a lot of solitaire games out there, and the mechanics work in much the same way. If you're not a person that likes a good story, or if you don't care for the nature of this particular story, the game might have limited appeal.

Still, it's fair to say that Heartwild Solitaire is a very interesting game. I wanted to keep playing in order to learn how the story progressed. At the same time, though, it's definitely a mature game, and not one for kids or sensitive readers."

Pros: Well written, addictive and mature story. Beautiful music, and attractive graphics. Smooth gameplay.

Cons: Story might be disturbing to some readers. Unoriginal solitaire concept. Simple game play with limited power-ups.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars Average Player Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Gamezebo review:

"Detective Stories: Hollywood is a very long hidden object game with glossy graphics and lots of inventory puzzles. However, boring dialogue and tedious gameplay make the game less entertaining than it should be."

Pros: Very long length. Well-drawn graphics.

Cons: Boring dialogue, boring tasks. Can’t skip minigames. Object fragments vary randomly in color, making some searches unsatisfying.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"Straight from the annals of Greek mythology, Neptune's Secret recounts the tale of warring gods, a lost civilization, a mysterious amulet and a modern-day gal on a quest to unravel it all. Told through a comic-style presentation, the narrative sets the stage for an undersea, hidden-object adventure with greater depth and more puzzle-solving elements than you can shake a squid at."

Pros: Gorgeous graphics and atmospheric audio. Multi-tiered levels. Nicely integrated story. Enjoyable puzzles.

Cons: Contemporary images in an ancient setting. Story ends abruptly.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

This is one of the best games in this promotion yet. I played it when it first came out and thought it was just excellent. I really, really recommend it, especially at $2.99. I think I paid $20 for it when it came out originally.

Earlier in the $2.99 promotion I was able to buy the Mac and PC version and got the discount for both. Bummer I can't anymore, although I guess I can understand it. The wife and I both love hidden object games, and I was hoping to get it for her Mac and for me on the PC.

Gamezebo review:

"If you're a fan of high fantasy (and match-three puzzlers to boot) get ready to hold onto your helmet: Evil sorceress Morganna's back to haunt the world once again in Arthurian-themed head-scratcher Runes of Avalon 2, which challenges you to save a peaceful kingdom from her baneful magic. As we happily discovered though, a host of new backdrops, incantations and 100 keenly-crafted levels also make a featured appearance as well, allowing you to easily while away the afternoon keeping both the pesky witch, and boredom, safely at bay."

Pros: Level designs. Range of spells. Ability to spark chain reactions. Bonus mini-games. High-quality audiovisual presentation.

Cons: Instructions not always clear. Forgettable extras. Can blaze through certain stages once solution's determined. Theme/sound effects can grate.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I got an email from BigFish with the headline "One Day Only - The Daily Deal Is For Everyone". They don't elaborate on this, but I would assume it means you don't have to be a BigFish Club member to get the discount on WMC3. It's a great game BTW, and the best of the series.

Gamezebo review:

"Magic Seeds is no Alice Greenfingers or Plant Tycoon copycat (in spite of what you might think from looking at the main character's Alice Greenfingers-like blond pigtails), but more of what you get when you cross the two games. In this one, players plant, grow and sell seeds as in Alice Greenfingers while crossing them to make more expensive plants like in Plant Tycoon."

Pros: Long lasting. Simple game. Playable with or without strategy. Two good game modes.

Cons: Requires incredible patience. Non-existent music. Lacking features. Bad grammar. Usability issues.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Hi Zbornak, yeah, I got that email, too. And the coupon code yesterday was posted on the Big Fish home page. It was a one day sale open to everyone trying to generate interest in the program. But the beauty of this thread is that on CAG, you don't need to be a member of their game club to get the deal, you just need the coupon codes that I post every day. Women's Murder Club 3 was a great game to use for a one day sale. I just wish they had followed it up today with something better than Magic Seeds. There are better farming games out there, especially when there are free games like Farmville on Facebook...
