Gamezebo review:

"As far as hidden object games go, Cassandra's Journey: The Legacy of Nostradamus delivers one of the more entertaining spins on the popular casual game category. While it doesn't really bring anything new to the genre, it's a highly polished and fun diversion, with many mini-games to keep things fresh and a story you might actually be interested in."

Pros: Well-made with decent story, memorable characters and relevant items. Different search criteria and multiple Hint types. Many mini-games, which can be played at any time. Attractive graphics. Can unlock fortune-telling fun.

Cons: Questionable replayability. Only one game mode with items in the same place. Some clicks don’t register. Some confusing words.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

"Given the continued popularity of interior design shows, it should come as no surprise that Home Sweet Home is receiving a sequel. Playing almost identically to its predecessor and emphasizing quantity over innovation, Home Sweet Home 2 is a fun but strictly by-the-numbers return to form, and one that’s beginning to lose its novelty value at that."

Pros: Huge collection of customizable items. Multiple gameplay styles. Sound and graphics. Loads of personality. Ability to unlock new goods through continued advancement.

Cons: More of the same. Selecting specific objects sometimes tough. Simplistic puzzles. Relaxed attitude makes it best enjoyed in brief sittings.

I can imagine some people would really dig these types of games, I'm not one. Heh heh.

Well, I am not surprised there is no Gamezebo review of this game. It is old and, well, it is just Hangman. User reviews on Reflexive were mostly negative. Then again, I guess if you are looking for a $3 game of Hangman with bad graphics, go for it!

I actually played and enjoyed this game (not to completion or anything), but you do have to enjoy it through the mists of time, as it were.

Gamezebo review:

"Most impressive is the title's overall improved polish and hands-on flow. Suffice it to say that the game looks, handles and moves much slicker than in previous editions, with the designers even going so far as to listen to constructive criticism and fix past complaints, such as issues with the timing when new chains of balls appear.

Granted, these gains are strictly incremental, and hardly the revolution longtime fans had hoped for. And certainly, the difficulty level, even when set to Medium, as most will likely opt for, is taxing to say the least. But honestly, who are we kidding? Suave, sophisticated and sweet a way to kill 15 minutes here and there as Luxor 3 really is, heck... There's no sense wasting time complaining when you could instead be experiencing how addictively engaging the title is for yourself."

Pros: Wealth of game modes. Incredible presentation. Ability to buy extras and power-ups. Numerous design improvements. Still fun and engaging as ever.

Cons: A small step vs. huge leap forward. Could have used more original power-up options. Challenging difficulty level.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

The offer above works if you are on the Big Fish Japanese store. The coupon code drops the price to 349 yen.

I really think this is a mistake and they will put up a US offer on their US store when they realize their mistake. I will keep checking to see if there is a correction today. When I clicked on the offer, I was still on the US store and the site said the game doesn't exist and the coupon doesn't work. By switching to the Japanese store, everything was fine...

Weird morning!

Gamezebo review:

"While not everything in the game is easy as pie, it has great potential that needs more work. Despite its serious flaws, I couldn't help but keep playing the game. Beginners will find this one too much work to figure out. Experienced match three players can make it through Apple Pie's flaws, but is it enough to allow them to enjoy instead of feel frustrated? That depends on the player."

Pros: Long-lasting. Creative ideas.

Cons: Grammatical errors. Graphics quality. Help is lacking. Many things unclear.

Today's Big Fish $2.99 Game Of The Day is:

Mystery Stories: Animal Agents - Solve the dark secret and discover a malicious plot behind the missing animals around the neighborhood in this great Hidden Object game.

Gamezebo review:

"It's possible to finish either Anna or Justin's story in less than two hours, but the beauty of Animal Agents is that you can play through the adventure a second time from the point of view of the other character, thus doubling the gameplay length. There's also a Puzzle Mode where you can go back and play a scene individually to beat your best time. Animal Agents won't turn the hidden object genre on its ear, but it's certainly fun while it lasts."

Pros: Sound-based puzzles and other twists. Coherent story. Two characters to play.

Cons: Some mislabeled items. Context issues with soundtrack. Some items hard to see.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Well, I guess if you consider the first time it ran was during the Toolbar sale and this time is during the Game Club member sale, it isn't technically a repeat offer! But still...they have tons of games to choose from. Like they could have offered up one of the other Mystery Story games like Berlin Nights...

Weird sale. Very hit and miss. The great Luxor 3 then the stale Apple Pie then a repeat...never know what they will offer up next!

Gamezebo review:

"The Three Musketeers is a refreshing change from the many downloadable puzzlers available today, but on the flipside, this arcade-like game-play - which demands fast reflexes -- may not appeal to as wide of an audience as the more mainstream puzzle games.

That said, Legendo has done a fantastic job by fusing together a familiar universe with classic game-play and modern graphics, all rolled into one, resulting in a memorable quest for players of all ages."

Pros: Unique game-play for "casual" crowd; attractive graphics and music; game pad support

Cons: Game won't appeal to all kinds of players; some minor bugs

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Gamezebo review:

"At the end of the day (or, in this case, days), G.H.O.S.T. Hunters is an enjoyable diversion. Music and sound effects, like thunder, footsteps, whispers and creaking hinges, are appropriately atmospheric. Visuals share company with the best in the genre, though, are a smidgen less pristine than characteristic of the Mystery Case Files series. And, the game offers a modest degree of replay value thanks to alternating culprits and random object lists (though items are stationary, so by the second time through you'll know where most are hidden)."

Pros: Atmospheric music and sound effects, attractive visuals and modest replay value.

Cons: Weak story elements, limited variety, one mode of play and fixed item locations.

"Magic Academy is one of the better hidden-object games available. Fans of the genre will find the experience a magical delight. It's an academy worthy of your enrollment."

Pros: Pleasant graphics and audio, great atmosphere, enjoyable mix of puzzles, characters integrated well with narrative.

Cons: Somewhat brief, limited replay, only one mode.

Gamextazy.com's review:

"You know an arcade space shooter for the PC is good when you reach into your pocket for a quarter before playing. Back in the day, I plunked more than a few tokens into Space Invaders and Galaga, and any game that can take me back to that nascent time is doing something right. Alien Stars from Awem Studio is one such game."

Gamezebo review:

"While it's not quite as involved or complex as some of the more recent time management games we've seen, Cake Shop does add some interesting concepts to the genre, such as the influence of Emily's mood on the customer's patience levels. If only the length was an hour or so longer, it would be a good pick for folks that want a simpler time management game."

Pros: Simple rules. Wide variety of food items to serve to customers. Good graphics. Interesting use of Emily's “mood” to affect customers' patience.

Cons: Game length is short and can be beaten in 2-3 hours. Not very challenging. Music is plain. “Cream” upgrade makes it difficult to see customer's order.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I can't find any reviews of this game. Looks like a Pac-Man clone. Big Fish has a gameplay video. You could also download just the trial version if you are interested in it but not sure if it is worth $3...

On XBOX Live Marketplace, the game has 63 user ratings giving the game a 3 out of 5. The XBOX360 version has multiplayer, though. I can't tell if the PC version does or not....

Gamezebo review:

"Though Yard Sale Junkie brings new twists to the hidden object game genre, the graphics and usability issues tarnish the game. Already, plans are in motion to release a sequel. Let's hope the developer works on the needed improvements to help the game realize its full potential."

Pros: Unique gameplay theme. Changing locations. Themed sales.

Cons: Low quality graphics. Usability issues. Vague naming of objects. Game crashes.

Gamezebo review:

"Not all hidden object games are created equal. With its charming story, high production values and adventure game-like puzzles, Treasure Seekers: Visions of Gold is one of the better ones available today."

Pros: Fun take on hidden object games. Good mini-game puzzles. Attractive graphics and great music. Charming story.

Cons: Some objects are confusing or don’t make sense for task. Only one game mode.

I personally have this game and I agree whole-heartedly with Gamezebo. I really loved this game. It is a steal at $2.99.

I got this one a while back from them either for free or 99c, I forget which. It's my wife's favorite out of all the Bigfish hidden object games. Really good looking and sounding game, with plenty of variety. I hope they do the Treasure Seekers sequel at this price soon, I'll snap it right up for her.

Gamezebo review:

"Rewarding the little megalomaniac that lives inside all of us, the talented folks at Last Day of Work (coolest name for a company ever?) has created Virtual Villagers, a "life simulation" if you will, that challenges gamers to manage a tribe of island castaways... Gamers in search of a unique and addictive downloadable adventure - especially those who'd like to play God for a virtual thrill - won't be disappointed with this wonderfully crafted game."

Pros: Fun an addictive concept; lots of game-play here; for Windows and Macs.

Cons: Some control issues; sometimes unclear what to do next

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

With Virtual Villagers going into this sale, I would bet Virtual Villagers 4 must be coming this week...Big Fish often seems to run a game here right before a sequel gets released to generate more interest...for example, Cake Shop 2 just came out...

If you haven't played a Virtual Villagers game (or Fish Tycoon, Plant Tycoon, or Virtual Families, the developers other games) you are in for a new experience. You can't play them for long periods at a time. It takes time for the villagers to accomplish things. Instead, you have to check back on them on a regular basis since they keep working even when you are gone. Interesting concept and can be addictive, though you will also be yelling at your computer trying to make them work faster.
