Thought this was worthy of a new thread. Its back! And with a vengeance. As of this writing its at [see title]. Link

And for those that dont know, the amount of uses for this promotion seems to be doubling at a steady rate, now at 40 uses per account, and the maximum amount you can get back PER A SINGLE TRANSACTION was reduced from $250 to $200. The total culmulative cashback allowance is capped at $2,500.00 per calendar year.

How this works:

If you dont already know about this, its a very simple promotion offered by Microsoft in order to promote usage of their search engine live.com. All you have to do is go to www.live.com and search for something common, like "Wii" as in nintendo wii. In the Sponsored sites at the top you will see a link to Wii's on ebay with a small logo next to it that says Live Search Cash Back and below that "You may get xx% off paypal eligible". When you click on the cash back logo it takes you to ebay and BIN (Buy It Now) auctions for Wiis. From there you simply use the ebay search function to find the BIN auction for the item you desire and purchase it. When you click the BIN button prior to clicking on Commit to buy you should see a message below with the Cash Back you are eligible to recieve. Once you buy the auction pay for it with paypal and give it an hour. Eventually you'll get a message in your ebay account saying "You've earned cashback" simply click on it and follow the instructions. If you dont have one you'll be asked to create a live account. I believe most people will already have an existing live acct due to their Xbox, MSN, or Hotmail associations so feel free to use that if you like. This is quick, and thus far i havent gotten any spam due to it, nor have i read of anyone getting any spam. And thats it, 60 + 15 days later [they allow a buffer period incase you return what you bought] you can redeem the money.

So to summarize

1. use live.com search engine to find any product on ebay. Any keyword is as good as another, hence i used "wii" as an example.

2. Once activating the link use ebay.com to browse for the Buy It Now auction you desire and purchase and pay with paypal. Wait until you get a message from ebay and get your cash back with your live account. This can take a few hours.

3. ~75 days later its in your pocket. [60 days before you can redeem and then an additional 2 weeks before it actually transfers into your paypal account]

Again this is just a promotion by MS to promote use of their search engine, theres no catch. You dont have to promise your first born nor random legs or limbs. Its as simple as it sounds.

Some things to note

-This promotion is limited to only US residents.

-You must pay with paypal and it must be a BIN auction.

-It takes about 75 days to recieve the actual money which will be in the form of a FEE FREE deposit into your paypal account. From there you can spend it or transfer it into your checking or simply request a check.

-If you return the item you purchased and used the promotion on you LOSE the refund.

-This is only valid for Ebay user/store auctions on Ebay.com. No live auction or ebay motors etc.. Though i think you can get away with buying international auctions you're watching on ebay.com. I also noticed that this works if you're offered a "Second chance" on an item you bid on since it turns the auction into a BIN.

-You may only use this a maximum of 40 times per ebay account per person. A few people are reporting success using different ebay accounts with the same cashback account in order to achieve more than 20 uses. YMMV.

-Maximum of $200 back PER AUCTION [$2,500 Cap per account] and the percent savings does vary and can change without notice.

Rest of the terms are here:
http://pages.ebay.com/cashbackoffer/terms.html

I recommend at least skimming them. Enjoy.

Couple additions

"Instant" Cashback is now available. However, to quote "Instant cashback will be eligible for some, but not all users." Its unknown what the criteria is to be "eligible". I would not suggest you make a purchase unless you dont mind waiting.

Ebay/Paypal Coupons WILL stack with this. The amount is deducted off the full auction value. IE 10% Coupon applied to $100 purchase will save you $10. If the Cashback percent is 25% you will still get $25 additional back for a total savings of $35. Usually the Ebay/Paypal coupons have a maximum savings of $100 for a maximum total of $300 saved on any single purchase. This also stacks with other promotions run by Bigcrumb/ebates where you can earn some more money back based on an items selling fees.
Higuy, I've got the same problem. I used this deal a few months back one time, and it worked perfectly. Now every time I try to do it, it doesn't show up on eBay. I log in to my Live account first, and I've tried navigating to eBay both logged out and already logged in to my eBay account. Neither one works. I never see any indication of the cashback deal on the eBay pages.
hey marginal, wanted to let you know that when i got home i disabled my norton and tried again, and it worked. not sure if it was coincidence, but like i said ive been trying to figure out how to make the cashback deal show up in ebay forever...never worked until i disabled norton last night. scored $200 off speakers. im happy.

Hmm can anyone find a PS3 (used or new) that has a buy it now at an affordable price? i don't need any games or bundles, etc.

hard drive doesn't matter as long it doesn't affect psp connectivity or play older ps1/ps2 games.

will 20 gb ps3s work on ps2/ps1 games?

OK, yesterday it was working fine for me, but today i keep getting a message during checkout saying that the seller is using a 3rd party checkout so this item isnt eligible for cash back because the seller needs to use pay pal, but the seller is using pay pal.

Thanks for the help epb

Yeah, even though some people sell through Paypal, they have their own checkout system which makes those purchases ineligible for the deal. Try looking for a different seller.
Snagged a used PSP-1000 with four games for $150 shipped. Heard Slim's better, but at least I won't have to go out and get Crisis Core and Tactics separately! Wonder if Pirates of the Carribean Dead At World's End and Death Jr. are any good...
damn, that's a sexy price you paid for a slim with FFCC and Tactics! Enjoy it... Me loving my Kratos PSP slim and FFCC rocks!

Definitely getting the 3000 model too, better screen...

Thanks OP. Picked up some mundane water filters that are typically about $50 for ~$30 after cashback. I'm overloaded with games at the moment with the GS coupon sprees.

That is way too expensive. lol.
But 20 gb will NOT work with ps2/ps1 games right? I already have a ps2 so i guess it doesn't matter?
I just want a cheap one, preferably around 200 ( don't know much about ps3 pricing)
There's still a 3x's use limit for this right? So those who used it 3x's last time are out of luck.
It's been bumped up to 6 times, so the people that used it 3 times before have another 3 to use now.

PSP Slim with case, ad 2gb mem card for $102 shipped. Damnit, I was going to wait for the 3000 with the brighter screen, but hey, not like I'm going to play it at the beach :)

Hey guys I'm wondering how this works, maybe you can fill me in. On my first two orders I got back $12, and $11 respectively ($23 back total) and then I ordered a third item for a total of $975 which maxed out at $200 cash back. I realize I can't get $223 total because there is a $200 cap, but it was my understanding on the last item I should get the $200-$23 = $177 back. Is that correct? The first two showed up in my Live Search Account, but the third hasn't yet and I'm a bit worried....I got the Email saying I had earned the "$200" cash back, but hopefully I didn't screw that up. Please fill me in if you have any idea. Thanks!

Sweet deal thanks OP, Picked up a Harmonic balancer and Clutch kit for my Mustang lol.

For anyone not having luck with this, just search for wii and youll see the cashback link, I had to try it a few times , youll know it works when you see the green cash back box on your ebay page, it will also be on the page after you click buy it now.

Happy buying.

not really sure what you're saying. you can get up to 200 cashback per purchase, its not a cumulative amount. so you'll have $223 coming back now over those 3 purchases. In otherwords you can get back a maximum of $1200 over your 6 purchases ($200 per cashback per purchase).

it was upped to 6 awhile ago and one of the first things i made a point to mention in the OP. So everyone that used it 3 times before has 3 more.

I really hope this Keeps going on for another month or two. Damn Bills! I do plan on ordering a 60 GB Ps3.

That's the only one that is Backward Compatabile correct?

I am torn on whether to get a Canon HV30 from EBay or Amazon. I found one auction that has the "or best offer" option. I am curious if I make an accepted offer, will I still be eligible for the cash back promo? I couldn't find anything in the official rules stating that I couldn't but I figured I'd double check. Thanks for any info.

OK, thank you VERY much. You prevented me from spending an extra $100.

Oh man are you serious? I thought it was $200 total over the 6 items. If I knew that I would have used it for some other purchases....doh! Now I feel like a dolt :)

Maybe I shouldn't be ordering stuff at 4 in the morning lol. Thanks for straightening that out. I hope they credit me eventually in that case. THANKS for explaining that. My Lord this sale is amazing.

Is it 200 total or per buy? The conditions are confusing. It said $200 per online session, so I think that means per transactions.

Picked up a 2nd Gen 32GB ipod Touch for my girl for Xmas. $275 shipped after cashback of $117. Thanks OP.
It's been bumped up to 6 times, so the people that used it 3 times before have another 3 to use now.
Awesome...thanks!

I've picked up (all prices after cashback and shipping):

iPod Touch 8gb (2nd gen) - $157
Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter (new) - $49
Fable 2 Pre-Sale - $42

:D

While you're doing this, you may as well sign up here to save some more money (it's stackable):

Just do the live search to get the icon showing up, then go to bigcrumbs, click through to ebay, and make your purchase. You'll still get the live cashback, but you'll get bigcrumbs credit as well, which is 1/3 of the seller fee. With ebay fees always going up, this adds up quickly if you buy a lot and remember to do it...I've made $125 this year. They pay you in paypal and are very reliable.

Purchases so far after discounts:

Pure for 360 - $28
Bladerunner Blu ray - $17
Infinite Undiscovery - $28
DS Lite with Civilization, New Super Mario Bros, Lock's quest - $85

Well it wasnt working for me...but the links popped up eventually. 370 total, 270 once I get my cash back. :| I hope I dont get buyers remorse here. I missed out so badly last time on the huge deals I sort of just bit the bullet this time.

Ok, couldn't resist. I've been wanting a pair of Sennheiser PXC-350 noise-canceling headphones for some time, but didn't want to spend the money. With this deal I'm getting a used pair (allegedly used only once) for $140 shipped after $60 cash back. Presuming all is well with the headphones, this is awesome. I take the train and bus to work every day and have never been thrilled with in-the-ear-canal headphones (I've tried several including high-end Westone UM2s, which are what I currently have.) My rule has been that I have to buy something that is already discounted such that waiting for the cashback doesn't seem so bad, so this fits the bill perfectly.

For what?

Wow...you guys were absolutely right. This morning the $200 showed up on my live account as well as the other $23 worth of orders. Now I feel like I wasted this first two orders...doh! Still really incredible sale. If I had more money I'd probably go broke all over with this sale. I wish they did this year round ;)

LOL thanks. The main reason I think this site is worthwhile (as opposed to the hordes of other ebates type sites) is that you can use it on ebay, which is usually already the best deal you'll find on a game if you get a good BIN. As you can see, it REALLY adds up if you buy all your games/pc hardware online:
thanks for this. Bought an iphone.
i've been searching live and can't get that option for ebay.....

got the option for a 360 using buy it now, but i forgot i just ordered one from dell!

Tempted to grab a PS3, but I'd want it to be BC. And then I look at the listings and a whole bunch of them are refurbed to some degree.

I'll likely wait this out some more until Sony gets things together.

Picked up a PSP 3000 preorder for $159 shipped... and separately three, 4GB MS pro duo for $26 total shipped for the PSP (all after the cashback that is). Have to resist 26" LCD for the bedroom now. I need someone to either talk me out of it, or show me a deal that I cannot pass up

Ohmygawd I just bought a new 80gb PS3 that comes w/ an extra controller, GTA IV and some NBA game for $330 (after cashback).

I feel like I'm going to puke I'm so nervous; the cash back better work!!!

Crap! The Live cashback account shows $0! Does most people's account initially look like this and requires a day or so?

Edit: Looks like everybody takes a day or two to process. OK. I'll try to calm down. :/
