Bioshock for PS3 - Confirmed

Quality gif action there Alex :D

And Gizmo do you have to come into every PS3 thread and troll, I've browsed through about 4 PS3 threads in the last 5 mins and every single one of them seems to feature you bad mouthing the PS3. Most of them are just announcements about stuff thats coming to the PS3, not anything with comparisons between the PS3 and 360, yet there you are with something negative to say.

It's just annoying after a while, and I'm not pro-PS3 by any stretch of the imagination, but let people who are have their forum in peace dude

It's ok, he buys Blu-Ray movies for his PS3, so he's supporting the cause whilst paying lip service to hating the PS3.

We're at war buddy. If tireless soldiers like Gizmo weren't slamming PS3 on the internets, the damn terrorists would win. And by terrorists I mean PS3 owners. He is doing you a service and you should just respect that.

As for the confirmation by the 2K moderator, I'm fairly certain every company shares all its wheelings and dealings with random folks they ask to handle vile threads on their forums.

Like the MGS4 rumors, it won't ever end. It'll just keep going and going till we get bored and move onto the next "I really hope this one isn't exclusive to my console's rival" title.

Yep, nerd fanboy entertainment and its finest. :D

This thread is especially entertaining, as Bioshock was already a timed exclusive, so it's pretty much sold all the 360s it was going to sell.

So all it coming to the PS3 does is give PS3 owners who weren't willing to buy a 360 or upgrade their PC to play it (assuming their PC couldn't handle it) a chance to play an excellent game.

Uh, no, it wasn't. I'm not saying it won't come to the PS3, but no one from 2K or Irrational or anywhere else with authority on the matter has ever called it a "timed exclusive."

Isn't that a really, really small number, though? I mean, power to you guys if you get Bioshock, but I really don't see that being the reason.. And if that's the case, there is no other reason.
Get a drill and quit whining . *

I'm not sure how much work goes into doing the whole drilling and stuff, but why the hell should I have to do all that work just to get online? My internet situation is weird so it would be complicated to do.

Who gives a shit what it was called? I just meant it has been exclusive on the 360 (and PC) since August until sometime next year at the earliest. Doesn't matter whether it was an official timed exclusive or not.

Either way, by the time the PS3 version is out, it will have sold all the 360s that it was going to sell by itself anyway, so no reason for the 360 fanboys to get upset about losing an exclusive nor the PS3 fanboys to be excited for "stealing" one--other than excited to play and amazing game.

What's so hard to believe about a company policing their own forums? The Capcom boards are partially moderated by their Director of Strategy. I doubt they pick just random folks to moderate their boards. I would think they would want someone well informed of their company in charge.

And isn't time for a title change?

Not sure what you mean. I wasn't talking business wise-I'm not a fanboy loser who gets wrapped up in sales. I just like to play good games.

All I was saying is that Bioshock coming to the PS3 will be great for those PS3 owners who don't have 360s who wanted to play Bioshock as it is a FANTASTIC game. And now they can play it without buying a 360 or upgrading a gaming PC assuming it does actually come to the PS3.

Actually, to be fair, 2K does have some real dumbasses as mods on the Bioshock forums, and most of them are not actual 2K employees (they're contracted through a third-party support company).

There is a now-infamous case-in-point of how stupid their mods can be: A user once asked about installing the game on his brother's seperate user account (on the same computer), and if this would count as one of the 5 activations of the game that users are allowed, to which a mod replied:
The other way to view this, is one USER has purchased the game. Not the whole family. So why should your brother play for free?
As you can imagine, seeing as there was already a lot of unrest over Bioshock's bullshit copy-protection method, this reply did not go over particularly well with the community.

Eventually 2K themselves stepped in and played damage control, explaining that this mod wasn't really a 2K employee, and had perhaps overstepped his boundaries in his reply:
Please note that the forum moderator has been incorrectly quoted as a 2K employee. The individual, "JT Tech 2K" works for an outside tech support group and is not an employee of 2K. Additionally, 2K is investigating the validity of the post.
So, the point I'm making here, is that 2k's forum mods aren't necessarily authorities on anything regarding the company itself, seeing as they're third-party.
And isn't time for a title change?
Agreed.

Oh I'm sure its the Director of Strategy. Not some intern that was given his username and password and told to keep smut out and homophobic and racial slurs to a minimum.

But that's besides the point. I was trying to point out that this rumor destroyer comes a source as reliable as the one in the original post. Even if the moderator is someone so far up the corporate ladder at 2K, I highly doubt they're going to be privy to super secret information such contractual obligations to other companies to the point they can say without a doubt a rumor is true or false. Furthermore, if they knew such information...they are probably not allowed to discuss publically, let alone on a message board.

My guess is the moderator, whether paid by 2K or not, is merely towing the company line of "Exclusively on Games for Windows Live and XBox 360" that 2K, as a company, been touting since the game's release. As a result, it should view as having little bearing to whether or not the game will ever see a PS3 release.

Is this really confirmed? I mean this is coming from some blog I've never heard of and I haven't seen this anywhere else.

I'm not saying it won't happen but is this really "confirmed"?

EDIT: Anyone notice that blog post was deleted? Looks like it isn't confirmed.

Yeah. Anyone hear/heard of a supposed "INSIDER" who goes by the name of surfer girl? Read her recent blog and she said Bioshock will never arrive on the PS3.

Point taken. I've never visited their forums. I do however browse Capcom's and have no doubt in my mind that Sven (dir. of strategic planning) is the one actually posting. This is a Japanese company who doesn't have a track record of nefarious business tactics.

Anyway, if there were any truth to this it would have popped up on a major blog or new site by now.
Never happening:

That story is just quoting the same 2K forums mod who I've already explained doesn't really have any authority to be making any claims for 2K's real intentions, seeing as he's not an employee of theirs.

I'm not using this as evidence that Bioshock will come to PS3 (I personally don't think it will), but that mod's word isn't worth shit, so it's not proof.
Oh it's coming to PS3. Oh course MS is money hatted people to keep their mouth shut. ;)
Have you even actually played Tales of Rebirth?

This topic should be deleted or locked. Bioshock was never confirmed to be announced for the PS3, and if you go to the random blog the OP posted the article has been deleted.
