How early does Amazon usually release their BF sales?

Got my eye on the 32" Westinghouse.

If you look at the ad-scans, the Target DSis are new SKUs. [They do it every year] They both come pre-loaded with 5 games (although the text is too small to see what they are). The white Target DSi comes pre-loaded with brain age stuff and the purple Target DSi looks like it comes pre-loaded with Mario stuff.

...I don't know if it's enough to get me to buy one (I was hoping for something a little more unique, ala the Zelda DS Lite they had a few years ago), but the addition of the $20 giftcard is nice. Not sure if its enough to get me to buy a purple DSi when I already plan on getting a DSi XL, but we'll see what everyone else is doing.

We'll have to see, but it's probably a Black Friday SKU. If I remember correctly, Target has had a Gold DS Lite (Zelda), Rose Pink DS Lite (Nintendogs), Red DS Lite (New Super Mario Bros) and a Red DS (Super Mario Kart) over the years [I have the Zelda DS Lite]. If history is any indication, you'll only be able to find it on Black Friday 2009. (5 Games + $20 Giftcard isn't bad)

...Edit: I just noticed this, but K-Mart has the same two pre-loaded DSi's and it comes with a $25 giftcard. Edit 2: Or rather, a "Nintendo Gaming Coupon" [whatever that is]

I'm really interested in the $50 keyboard.. but for those of you who know anything about this kinda stuff I have a question.

Will I be able to play the same songs I learned on the keyboard on the piano since this keyboard has 61 keys instead of 88? also is this a good keyboard to buy for a future beginner? I'm really interested in learning how to play a piano but real pianos are just way to expensive.

At this point, I think it pretty much looks like BF's a wash (with bits and pieces here and there). BB and TRU are the deciding factor for me.

Hopefully Amazon will come through. However, besides their Gold Box and other limited time/quantity deals (if you can snag them in time), they'll more than likely only PM all these other stores (or knock off a couple of dollars).

I read a lot of consumers did their Xmas shopping early this year, so if sales figures are down on BF from LY, the really great deals might come after.

Here's to hoping their Gold Box and other deals are great.

Here's a tip for GoldBox - once your fellow CAGs decipher the clues and you know what games will be on sale when, add them to your cart so you can instantly check out once the deals go LIVE! The price should auto-adjust if it's during the GoldBox deal! That's how I snagged FF7:Crisis Core last year! w00t!

Black Friday has become a big event every year, that the public has been accustomed to believing that anything advertised is a great deal. So the stores are now taking advantage of uninformed customers by advertising MSRP.

The majority of deals now seem to happen before Black Friday. The exception being Amazon, which always has great deals.

Amazon doesn't really have an ad but often time they release teaser lists and the like, along with start dates/times... and they also have the normal lightning deals (although with usually bigger-than-normal discounts).. you just will have to keep up with posts on the various deals sites to get all the info about what's on sale...

Last year we got some teaser lists, and every night at midnight (PST) of Thanksgiving weekend they'd tweak the video game deals.. quite a bit of stuff dropped every day in price to the point some of the prices got insanely cheap (I think $8 for 2 8mb Sony PS2 memory cards that normally sold for $30ish, some Nintendo DS games for $5, etc), Of course it sucked when something you wanted and bought at $10 Friday night dropped to $5 on Saturday night (And Amazon doesn't have any sort of price guarantee anymore) so you had to be patient and willing to decide what price you MUST buy at (and not risk it selling out)..

I'm surprised I haven't seen too many deals on Guitar Hero games. I know last year's Black Friday had lots of good deals on GH:WT. I think Walmart threw in the entire band kit for free with the purchase of a console. Glad these stores are shifting their obsession away from the (easy to please) Guitar Hero series onto more recent games like Forza 3 and L4D2.

Amazon releases a preview a few days prior and most of the deals go live Midnight PST. Then the next few days get pretty random as there are price drops, new items, gold box deals, lightning deals, etc. We basically have a good idea of what to expect but there are always surprises

I'm disappointed that this year's DSi bundles are just preloaded with a few downloadable games. That's not very exciting to me. I had been waiting to see what the bundle was this year, I loved the red Mario "M" DS Lite.

And still haven't seen a deal on a PS3 Slim. Might just buy an old PS3 large.
