Pretty much this as I got the 360 special deal at Walmart $100gc and I hate how loud the DVD drive on it is. Compared to the PS3 which only has a little noise after an hour of playing it is night and day and big distraction as the poster said. I actually would have to buy a harddrive to load all the games to it so I wouldn't hear that sound which would defeat the purpose. I was hoping no not use the gc on a hd but games and controller since I don't plan to go online with live. The games I played Halo 3 and GEOW2 were alright but I actually preferred KZ2 and UC2 to those games. Though being able to play offline co-op is nice. I'm sure live is better than PSN but since I don't really play online I prefer the PS3. You really notice the build quality difference between the two as the PS3 just seems like a very quality machine. They both have great games but if I will have to have to send my 360 in all the time that is kind of like buying a nice car and always having it in the shop. I would hate that so is why I bought an Infiniti.

I greatly prefer the 360, I like the controller better, XBOX Live is great,
And it has a better variety of games that appeal to me.
I would say it's probably an 85% - 15% split.

But honestly, it's worth buying a PS3 just for Uncharted 2 and InFamous...
my two favorite games of the year.

I say just get the PS3, cause it's always better to have two systems to play on than one. Both systems have their ups and downs, despite what PS3 owners will cry foul about the 360 and vice versa (it's all the same bullshit anyways, cause as long as you have fun its all good right?). I personally have only a 360 but would jump at the chance of having the ability to own both consoles.

And the amount of time you play on either console is usually depend on who you can play with and what you can play, so just get some games that you'd enjoy for the PS3 and you're all set. Don't feel obligated to switch between consoles every day or something. Just play whatever you decide to feel like playing ATM.

Also, just for kicks and giggles, J7 when you described the PS3 experience, you sounded like an absolute tool, marketing the PS3 in a commercial XD

I was going to do it today, but then I'd be without an Xbox until Thursday when I pick up the Walmart Arcade unit my mother-in-law picked up for me. From the info in the ad, it seems all the current promos are being extended, at least through next week. We'll see for how long on Monday when Gamestop updates their website.

IMO Live KILLS PS3 free online. So many PS3 server issues, and you can easily find XBL gold deals for 30-35$ for a year, and with all the free things you get over time. It's a win win, and if there is ever a XBL server issue you always get some free stuff.

I have both, if I have the option I buy it for the 360. The only games I buy for the PS3 are exclusives and racing games because I have the g25 logitech wheel. Plus my main reasoning for getting a PS3 was for being able to rent blu-ray movies from netflix.

I don't think it's all rockband games because I see no indication that they will be selling the Beetles Rockband at that price. If you can prove otherwise please do so, bcuz I would really make the trip for that game.

I've heard that the game really didn't live up to expectations, but everybody's expectations are different. Even so, I suggest you try it before you buy it.
