While I have every good thought that Amazon is going to blow us away this year as they did last... keep in mind... they may not. Up until last year, their Black Friday sales were nothing to get too excited about. (They'd have a few deals but nothing particularly epic) Last year they really went nuts, and so far this year they are showing themselves to be much more aggressive about matching prices of other retailers.

That said, hopefully they're not setting us up to just ignore everyone else and bring out a pile of lame deals when it's too late to get stuff from other retailers.

I just hope it's good deals, and when they're not selling brand new AAA $60 games for $5 in lightning deals 20 times a day that people don't spaz.
 
Hopefully, this past Tuesday lightning deals with Brutal Legend, R&C ACIT, and Halo ODST for 29.99 a piece is a preview of the type of deals they will be have.

I'm hoping they exceed the target and bb deals with 29.99 for Batman AA, Halo ODST(again) L4D 2, Dragon Age Origins, and Brutal Legend(again).

I really would love to see Modern Warfare 2 and Borderlands on sale as well for 39.99 or less.


The gamestop ad is similar to last year which is not bad at all some decent deals:

1. why has 10 people in the past 3 pages pointed out a link to gamestops ad?

2. The only problem with Walmart, there busy ALL DAY and best buy will be a Z00 but only til about 8-9

3. i think Old Navy has the best deal for the Lego ROck Band

and then Target has the best TV deal with the Westinghouse.. which I've never seen them really go bad

Amazon is going to deliver just like it did last year. This year's electronics are killer deals, I will be getting a TV in the next month or so. BF TV deals are amazing though....32 inch samsung for 400, 40 inch 1080p sony for 600...

I went back and looked at what was available and what I bought from Amazon last year. While I spent almost $200 and got tons of games, in reflection, a lot of them were filler games that I just bought because they were $10 or less. It doesn't look like they really discounted a lot of recent releases or even put the most desireable games on sale. I am looking forward to the Amazon BF sale and suspect they will match a lot of the major retailer's pricing (which again isn't amazing considering the rather mediocre deals I have seen posted here so far), but I can't help but think people are getting really over-hyped about it without any basis to do so.

I thought that might be the case as well... until I rented it from Gamefly. Meh. It's just a more simple Rock Band 2 (essentially becoming a $20 (plus $10) track pack if you get it from Old Navy.)
 
Most of these deals are just awful. I'm curious about the $7 mystery games at Wal-Mart though. I may just stick with Amazon this year.

thought supernatral was 12.99 per season... and only season 1-3 (isnt the season on right now season 4)
 
Gamestop's black friday ad is terrible. Where are the deals at. Everything is basically normal price. I know i won't be going there.
 
I've decided to go for the PC version of Dragon Age, so I'm hoping that will drop to $30 or less since the console version is going to be around $35-$40 for BF.

I'm pretty sure there is no "ad". In the past, Cheapy has been able to give us a sneak preview of some items the day before, but they always add a lot more and the prices vary somewhat.

I'd probably gp fpr R&C simply on the basis that it is typically a higher price game and despite the recent Gold Box among other deals, I know when I was looking for the last R&C game after getting my PS3, it was seldom on sale for less than $40 which is full retail on God of War Collection.
 
I want God of War Collection more. But it is $20 less than Ratchet. So you could sell Ratchet for 60 and then get GOW C and have 20 extra bucks.

Good luck finding someone to pay $60 for Ratchet & Clank. You are more likely to get about $35-40 on a good day. Overall this BF looks kind of lame other then a few things like the Rock Band Bundle for $50 (which I will not be getting unless Amazon matches since Walmart is a bad place to be during Black Friday early bird sales) but I might try to get the netbook from Office Depot as I have been wanting one. I was hoping for some better 42" plus TV deals but I really did not notice many that really stand out as BF prices.
 
My main thing I want is L4D2 at Best Buy. I'll probably look for some cheap DVDs as walmart usually has a few fair titles for 3.44, so we'll see.

So amazon actually has a BF ad? I thought that everything was kind of a surprise on BF for them?
 
Yeah, I will do the GS PS3 deal if I must because I want GOW more. But I hate GS and giving them business.

I'm pretty sure Amazon is gonna swoop in and get my business anyway.

Hey guys, two questions.

I'm thinking about getting the 360 Elite Holiday Bundle @ Radioshack for $60 cashback. It seems to me this is the best 360 deal this BF simply because I am looking to SAVE money, not gain anything extra. (And no, I dont use Amazon so i'm not waiting for it) So would you guys agree or argue i get another one? Just looking for some feedback.

And the other question is the Gamestop ad where it says you get 30% trade in credit on ANYTHING towards the purchase of a DSi Bundle. Would anyone know if it's possible to trade in towards that and cancel to get just the credit? I'm planning to trade in a ****load of below-par stuff towards that, then say i'm going to pay later today just gimme a gc and never buy it. A answer/suggestion would be appreciated.
