Oh, where'd you get the ECA from?

Edit: Ahh, you edited your post with the answer in anticipation of the inevitable question ;)

I wish I knew the secret on how to get items I really want into quick picks. All I get is random crap and strategy guides.

REMEMBER GUYS!! for it to be recommended.. you NEED to NOT have the wanted game in the following:

Cart
Purchased for pre-order
Rated
in your wish list

The following are games that I added to my want list.
These allowed blazblue for the ps3 to be added to the recommended list:

King of fighters XIII as stated above (but I want to be able to get the 5% off at a later date)

Tekken 6
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
When did you place the order? After they took the artbook down some time on 5/5?
4/29 sorry for late reply this thread moves fast.
i did it and it appeared on my list but it didnt give me the discount
Being on your list is not enough, it needs to show up in your daily quick picks, at the bottom of this page:
How can you tell if you will get the artbook?
You can't. Having it listed in your order is the best you can hope. Still does not mean you are guaranteed one either way. Common recommendations are to order at GS and somewhere else(if you plan to save money) in case you don't get one and can still take advantage of other retailers' prices.
Can anyone answer if it shows up in the order details?
Yes it does. However I ordered mine on May 1st before they took the book down on may 5th I believe. Mine says backordered next to it though. Some people say it is supposed to say that, others have said it doesnt say that next to theirs if it is listed.

Who are these "others"? I haven't ready anyone mentioning the book NOT being backordered in their Order History.

Hey, this showed up randomly in my gold box for PS3 so I pre-ordered it with ECA (can always cancel). Any idea if it's going to be better for PS3 or 360?

I swear that someone mentioned it because that is what happened with their art book for Valkyria Chronicles. I really dont want to read over 30 pgs of threads but I swear at least one person said that.
Somebody else told me that too but the last time I order something from GS for a preorder bonus (Ninja Gaiden DS w/ the sword stylus), I remember that the bonus had a shipping date (same the game). It didn't say back ordered.
My bad it was not for Valkyria Chronicles it was one person claiming it was Ninja Gaiden DS (the sword stylus pre-order bonus)

Post #519 on pg 27 of this thread.

I personally dont know because I hardly ever order off the website (this, Tales of Vesperia CE, Mass Effect CE were the only exceptions) so I dont know what they do with listing pre-order bonuses. I usually just go the B&M route.

That said is there anyone here who has the artbook on their order history listed as "Ships On" instead of "Backordered"?

yeah the chances are not too bright. You can always order it online from GS and also order it on Amazon to get a better price and return the GS copy to the store if you dont get an art book.
The artbook is GameStop exclusive and even then the odds of getting it are low now, correct?
the exclusive part is correct as of now.

the odd of getting it is low, yes, appears so... i love to guess that GS did this on purpose, but the fact that they're being careful about allocating the art book per pre-order can be interpreted as "it's limited."

Considering the Amazon version is going to run me $48.xx (before tax, sadly) due to GoldBox and ECA, i doubt I'll bother with GS. The extra savings are worth it

No, my understanding is that as long as you order while they are still advertising the art book, you should receive it. The "low" odds rumor started as a result of a misinformed customer service rep sending e-mails to customers telling them if they ordered after May 5th they might not get one. As long as you order before the ship date or before they take down the offer advertisement, you should be fine. According to Aksys, they have printed more than enough to handle the pre-orders at GS now and into the conceivable future.

I'm not sure anymore. Typically, GS would add a line item to an order for any bonus premium so that the shipping department would be sure to add it to your shipment. The packers would just retrieve whatever stated in an order. So no line item for the premium = no need to pack the premium. Now, unless they are well informed of the special procedure to pack this game with the premium, or the premium is physically bundled with the game, I can almost feel that we will get the shaft.

I'm surprised so many people are interested in this.. none of you guys have ever posted in our fighting game thread.

I think I'll pre-order from estarland.

Yep- that's why I'm concerned. If they screw me out of a book I'll just return the package to a store I hate for a full refund.

I will have to go take a looksie over there. I normally stay in the deals and bragging rights forums. I am still a newbie around here posting wise but have followed the site for a while. Plus I am an all-around gamer but I have been in a fighting game mood as of late (busted out some Guilty Gear and KOF to go with SF IV) :)

I understand you are concerned but considering none of the books are going to retail stores, it's not like they are just going to let them sit in the warehouse. As much as I dislike Gamestop, they aren't complete morons when it comes to this kind of stuff. My MGS IV CE didn't have the art book listed on my order and they managed to cram that into the weakly padded pouch and deliver it to me well bent. From what I've heard about the second print quantity, everyone will probably get one.
Looks like whoever is making the mockups placed it as the cover of the DVD bonus.
Yup, maybe that's what the case art will look like. Artbooks are only GS exclusive.

I'd say that's just an earlier mock-up, considering how roughly edited it is and the fact that it has an RP instead of a T rating.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean anything because it say right on the page "while supplies last" or something similar.

I remember one time when I didn't get a preorder bonus from GameStop (it was the DDS2 soundtrack) even though they kept advertising it up until the release date. Even though I ordered very early, they ran out but Atlus (back when they were cool) sent out replacements free of charge as long as you could provide proof of purchase via a receipt.

I'm keeping two orders up though. If I don't get the artbook from GS, I'm returning it and keeping my Amazon order. If I do get it, I'll just return the Amazon order.
just thought i would point out that the second picture on amazon is showing the artbook as part of the set.

Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, a picture eh? Obviously it's good news for those of you ordered from amazon (cheaper and art book, what's not to like). However, i rather have a description of art book than the picture, at least that's more accurate.

Amazon's picture sounds like the art book is packed with the game or something like that. Hmmmm, so what's up with the GS's bullshit then? I'm sticking with GS's order.

Yeah, what gives?! Is Amazon offering the art book as well?! Someone should e-mail them about it...

over 600 replies in 32 pages and most of them are about an artbook that most will just shelf or "flip" as they move on to other "bargains." Ye good gods people, it's just a preorder bonus, not the end of the world.

Honestly, how many of you all would have preordered without the book? Is it really worth all the trouble?

Hey you Ape, you've been through this thread, right? You should know that there are many people here who are actually looking forward to playing the game. What's wrong with trying to secure the art book for sure? I mean, GameStop is offering it with online pre-orders and they've screwed people before when it comes to pre-order online bonuses. We have all the right to be skeptical about this... it is GameStop after all.

im just concerned about the excessiveness about it all. I love these kinds of fighting games and i know there's not going to be nearly the amount of players as other more popular titles will see. I see these posts after posts complaining about the art book and it drives me nuts. I may be a bit greedy, but damnit i want to be able to find online competition when i try to find a match, and i know that there will be a lot of people just wanting the book and either returning the game to keep the book or just shelving the game until the "premium box" can fetch a decent price on ebay.

I think you should be glad that more people are buying it at all. It'll help ensure that more games like this are made. ;)

look, it's great that people are buying this, that's not what i'm complaining about. I'm complaining about the fact that despite great numbers of this game being pre-ordered, it's unlikely that we will be seeing nearly this many people online and playing at any given time. If i am wrong i will be the first in line to apologize, but realistically...i know how these things go.

There will be plenty of people playing this game trust me :) I know i'll be one of them playing. The art book is a bonus, so yeah, like many other bonus items, i want to make sure i get them as well. Of course, it's not the end of the world if i don't get it.
