I figured I'd post this, but it is very much a YMMV deal. I live on the South side of Indiana near Indianapolis and several Blockbuster stores around here are now closing like many more will this year.

My local store had some pretty nice deals on used games. They have all now been marked down to 50% off the original price, many of the games have lower prices than then stickers indicate as well.

My store had several games that all came out to be under $15 after the 50% discount.

360 games where all that was left, but I picked up a copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine for a mere $8. Great condition with the original case and manual intact.

Street Fighter IV, RE5, HAWX, FEAR 2, and a handful of other titles where also still in stock.

Blockbuster is closing down a nice chunk of their stores by the end of this year, so anyone who has several Blockbuster stores around them can be sure at least one if not more of them will be closing shop sooner rather than later.

A side note, they also were running some great deals on Blu-Ray and DVDs as well. I know they had a Blu-Ray Player for sell for $75 at my location.

Only good thing at the Dunkirk store the other day was the ps3 demo unit which had a sticker on it that it was already sold. completely picked clean:cry:

The PS3 demo unit and HDtv at the store I hit had a big 'not for sale' sign on it through the entire closing sale, so either Sony was coming in to get it or one of the employees already 'reserved' it(like they did most of the good shit:roll:).

argg, if only I'd seen this. And I visit craigslist nearly every day. 90% games.
Off the top of my head, I can think of 9 blockbusters between my home and my job (10 minute drive).
Are you folks asking the employees about their final day or is there an official list somewhere? I saw the forementioned website that listed 36 closures in San Diego.

I hope the one in Lemoore, CA closes. I haven't been in there in quite a while, but if they still employ the same people they did then they deserve to lose their jobs.

At least my local HWV employs people who pretend to care. I struck up a conversation with one of the workers and he mentioned for me to bring up whatever games happened ot be over $29.99 so he could price check them for me.

san diego, ca???

i saw a list. but i thought it said something like "this is how many there is now, lets see how fast the numbers go down" kinda thing. not that there were 33 stores CLOSING just that thats how many there was/is??
