It's listed as 129 Euros, but they take the Italian tax off when shipping to the US, so it comes out to 109 Euros for the game and 10 Euros for shipping. So 117 Euros for the game shipped which is $150.xx. Only a few cents more than the US version!

I'm going to say the ~ 50,000 is across all platforms. I can't imagine they printed 50,000 for each console and PC; that just seems like too many to correlate with the alleged rareness of this game.

Yes. that number is for all the editions made both na and international ones. I'm guessing about 20,000 xbox and ps3 versions and 13,000 pc versions. Explains why it sold out so quickly.

Well, if his name is any indication the 89 means the year he was born. So hes a 22-23 year old that thinks his crap dont stink on a message board and can act all tough when in fact he is more than likely 5 ft. nothing and 140 lbs when wet and would cower in fear in a real life situational argument.

The specific retailer list hasn't wavered since announcement, a guy on the borderlands forum says his Frys is getting some (he was told by a software person) but that still seems unlikely.

Screaming about buy.com dropping F-bombs, does make you better than me. Also crap does always stink.....doesnt it?

What an odd and incredibly small run number. Assuming 5 million worldwide sales of Borderlands, Gearbox only expected ~1% of them would want the CE :roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:. Also the chest is smaller than I had anticipated based on the dog pics.

By my understanding, This was the maximum that the manufacturer could guarantee by launch. One of the lead designers said that he wished they could have made more but they didn't have time. Could just be blowing smoke but I'm inclined to believe him since he was pretty candid the whole rest of the interview.

He makes a valid point... We all knew that Buy.com was a gamble. So for the other guy to blow up and act a fool was way out of line.

That may be so, but it isn't the first time he's crapped in this thread, it's a regular pattern by now that he is holier-than-thou because he has a pre-order somewhere while some people are forced to scramble for one. I can't say it's not typical of CAG these days though. This place is hardly a community anymore, it's more about people feeling entitled or others trashing a thread because it doesn't apply to them.

I agree, I loved the community feel of this site that's why I quit lurking and made an account. I haven't been keeping up with this thread that closely so I don't know about his previous posts. He could have been more tactful I agree.

Also, as an aside: The phrase durp (and Herp with it...) are stupid and over all annoying. Right up there with pwn'd.... It's usually used by people who like to belittle people so they feel more empowered.

I get what you're saying but that info is meaningless. If anything it further shows Gearbox's incompetence regarding this CE. They should've planned better. One percent!
 
I'm one of the lucky ones who ordered my 360 one from Amazon back in May but am so torn if I should keep it sealed or open it. Not used to actually having a CE/LE actually be LIMITED! But that Loot Chest would be damn sexy displayed in our living room...

To those who have valid orders, what are your plans for it?

Well, their sales shot up through the roof after the game of the year came out. I think their sales totals surprised even them. Gaining roughly 1.5million more in sales. (up from 3mill) They've been working on this for years. The first got such a luke-warm original reception from the gaming community that I don't think they could have even begun to expect SOO many people to be this gung-ho about the sequel when they were making plans for the CE.

Not trying to make it seem like they thought this would be any less exclusive but I think it's a bit assine to assume they just didn't care enough to make more money of people...

I watched that I am a big Borderlands fan and must say I am rather dissapointed in the CE Chest, looks very cheap, the other stuff including Map, bobble head, and Artbook looks great though.

I went ahead and canceled my Borderlands 2 CE Pre-order on Amazon after watching unboxing, just gonna buy standard edition, and use the $90 I saved on other games.

P.S I am not Bashing the CE, so people who buy it more power to you, might be collectible someday if its truly limited to 5,000.

Hopefully one day a developer will put out a worthy CE thats $150 or so, and it makes you say "How in the world did they include all that CE physical content without losing money" because the quality is great, and not cheaply made.
 
Anyone with an Amazon order might want to check their delivery date. I just noticed that mine was set back to the 21st from the 18th and shot an email off to them.

Not impressed either.. the chest looks kinda cheap. The main thing I like is the steelbook, but Futureshop had one, so I'll have to get that one.
 
I am not cancelling any of my pre-orders yet, but the top of that chest looks ugly.
Rest of it is not that impressive either. Steelbook looks ok but the chest has left me really disappointed so far

Likely or not - this is not turning out to be one of those "out of this world" CEs which people thought it will be.
So take it easy!!

P.S - Contacted Frys on mail earlier & they just confirmed that they have recieved the Chest editions in thier warehouse. Will start mailing them out on Monday
 
WTH? I though the chest would be bigger and more detailed, and it does look a tiny bit cheapish. I think the other extras are better than the chest. Overall still cool though.

I agree I was less sad when I watched the unboxing video. I really thought the chest was going to be awesome. I may still try to get one Monday night but if not no big deal. Still have my copy from best buy to play. Figure $45 for b2 leaves me with a lot more money for all the aaa releases in the next two months.

Hm, all of these negative reactions to the unboxing are making me reconsider the italian version I pre-ordered.

I can't see the video here at work, so I'll have to wait until I get home to watch it. If it is as bad as some of you are saying, I think it might just be the good ol' standard edition for me.
 
I think too many people were expecting too much from a CE. It looks pretty sweet IMO. I'll be holding onto mine. We already knew it was plastic so not really sure what people were expecting there and the contents were also already spoiled. So I don't understand why people are now disappointed....

The plastic looks thinner than I thought it would. I personally thought it would be a thicker, sturdier looking plastic.

That kinda reminds me of a thin old-school plastic mask I wore for Halloween as a kid. Of course I know it isn't that thin, but that's what it reminded me of lol.
 
I still think it's pretty cool. And being this rare, it's always nice to keep in mint condition/sealed as a proud collection. Too bad I couldn't find two to keep one sealed and one to play.

And at this rate even if you ordered one and don't want it, you can easily sell it for $150+ net profit. Cancelling your preorder would be a very bad idea.

Aw man. Did you really cancel your order because I would have been more than happy to buy it from you? I admit the CE looks cool, but not $500 cool. T__T

I'm just going to wait it out and maybe some kind soul will sell it at a cheaper price.
 
Let's not jump to conclusions. After all it is just a video and sometimes doesn't show it justice. I'm excited and look forward to receiving it. It might turn about better than expected. I'm really excited that we have basically "confirmed" (knock on wood) that Fry's has them and will ship in time.
 
It looks pretty cool to me. I'm not sure what the Vault Hunter's edition includes but I LOVE the cloth map. The artbooks are always a fun read, and that chest seems fine to me. I'll most likely display it with the top open anyway. It sounded sturdy to me when he knocked it on the table a bit, it gave a good "thud." I think this guy did a great unboxing, I like how he showed the scale of the Reach statue, which itself is pretty big.

I think folks might've been expecting something the size of an actual chest, lol. Don't you all remember the picture of that little dog in it? That pretty much told you the scale months ago.

Worth $150? Probably depends how much you love Borderlands and collectible toys. I'll be keeping mine.
 
Before people go cancelling orders, I would gladly like a copy...I would paypal you the amount you paid if you could change the address to ship it to me or something...we could work it out. *hint* *hint* lol
 
Had I been able to preorder that loot chest I would have followed through with it. However I chose too go with the standard edition over the deluxe vault hunter and must say I don't regret it after seeing that unboxing.

What the fuck? The chest isn't made out of solid gold? No handles carved out of ivory? No real life guns included?

You guys are all idiots... I don't know what you expect for $150 and I hope you do cancel your orders so someone with half a brain that enjoys collecting games will have an opportunity to purchase it.

LOL spot on. I've been keeping an eye on amazon hoping they pop up again. I was able to score a original portal gun way after they sold out so its not unheard of.

Frys shouldnt have the premiere club but who knows.....if the OP sells his, that would be pretty funny.

I paid $100 for mw3 hardened and have played the cumulative DLC less than 10 times.

I believe the Loot Chest and Deluxe Edition comes with a weapon and exclusive skins for your character. That's probably what the code is for.

You can't. You actually have to pick up the game and pay the full amount to get the codes to print on your receipt.
