CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!

I've been practicing hard with the Joystiq, and just yesterday I went back to the pad with a new button config that really lets me fight a lot better. I've been praticing my ass off. Hope to see it pay off soon.

It means Skills Over Scrubs. I made it. And I'm using it as my mark for every Shoto I beat.
 
Playing this game felt like a p90x workout. My eyes are burning hot like fiyah.

edit - option, do you happen to have the replay where I try to make crappy attempt @ viper's sjc to ultra? (Details - Training room stage, Viper wore a green samus suit, and I lost the match to you) If not, it's cool. First attempt at it in a match. I just need it for my 'pokedex'.

Persistence pays off for the tazmanian devil ultra. I could never land that in a match.

Tournament next Weds night @ 7:00 PM PDT anyone?

CAG Super Street Fighter IV Online PS3 Tournament I

It will be single elimination. Participants will have to pick their character when they sign up and stick with that character through out the entire tournament. Participants will have until 2 hours before the tournament to submit all characters changes. Ultra changes between matches are allowed. There is no entree fee therefore there might be no prize except pride for dominating this tournament. If someone willing to donate small stuffs (PSN cards, game codes, etc...) for prizes that would be great. Matches will be done in Endless mode with me as the host. I will only invite the 2 participants for the fight to reduce the possibility of lag. All matches will be broadcast live through JTV for your enjoyment, and perhaps upload to youtube.

Tournament Rules:

- Single Elimination
- 1 Character for the whole tournament
- Best 3 out of 5 rounds
- Disconnect from lobby during match = Auto DQ
- No limitation on controller features (turbo, macros, etc...)

But seriously, I would advise against putting up any physical/monetary prize, since there are so many factors that could be a problem (i.e. lag, etc.). If you want me to take care of the sign ups I could put it in the thread title and OP.

edit: @Esper: Just flipped through my replays and unfortunately I don't have it, was bumped out due to the sheer amount of games we played.

How you use your controller is up to you. It would be great if you could put this in OP and the title so more people will know. Prizes are just a little motivation, that's why I'm just asking for little stuffs but if there's nothing we can still play for pride =D. And I think we'll just using endless mode for the matches since it'll be easier to moderate. And I can only do this on weds night cuz I have class on thurs night so edit the thurs night part out.

Update: I updated the last reply so you can copy most of it in and edit it the way you want.
 
Why not roll fighting game tournaments like Americans?

2 rounds out of 3.
2 games out of 3.
Double elimination.

Or better yet, if it's under 8 players, do a round robin. 2 rounds out of 3. Top 2 play 2 games out of 3.

edit // Nevermind, you're going to stream it instead of having players pair up and playing their match.

Yeah I noticed first day it came out. I guess with the $40 price tag they don't want to give you that =p You can watch them on youtube btw.

luan, you're gonna have to establish some sort of communication between the participants. Also, some sort of reasonable schedule for the rounds would be good. i.e. 30min-1hour for round 1, 30 for round 2, etc.

Also, if there is a link to JTV if you're still streaming anything would be nice.
 
JTV has a chat box. It takes 30 second at most to sign up and start talking. And yeah we'll definitely have some schedule up. 7pm is just an estimate right now we'll probably start later than that. I'll try to get more detail out on tuesday. If you have any good idea just put it in option. I don't mind having someone help me organize this so I can focus more on keeping record and streaming it for other CAG to enjoy. Stream might not be high quality cuz my upload rate sucks T.T but hopefully it'll be watchable at least. Cuz i'm using separate connection for streaming and my ps3 so it'll be streaming at the max bitrate my internet can take.

I was thinking if there someone we can get CheapyD or an admin put this in the announcement or something like that so it'll catch more participants. Or perhaps we should see how this one turn out first and plan the future ones better.

It's signups for the tournament, I dont' think there's a spreadsheet for it.

I'm attending a graduation so I can't really play, or else I would.

Looks like you'll have 8 ppl, you might do double elimination.

Yeah, good games everyone. We pulled it off despite some minor hiccups here and there. Hopefully, we can start running these tourneys on a somewhat consistent basis in the near future.
