CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!
I smell unintended Haterade... besides towards the online. Nobody enjoys that shit.
Everyone has HATERADE for TEKKEN 6. It had worse online then KOF XII. How can you NOT hate on that? That's grounds for an EVERLASTING FOUNTAIN OF HATERADE.

Oh god yes.

Pre-patch.

Nothing had worse online than KOF XII before that patch. NOTHING!!!!!! EVER EVER EVER!!!!!!! ;)

Anyway I haven't been playing fighters lately... I need to get back to it. xD
Guess whose back? Been doing some Ryu mountain training aka camping and walking around barefoot.
Segata Sanshiro?
Anyone see the King of fighters movie?
It's pretty damn good. It's right up there with Street Fighter The Movie.

What the CRAP? Was that Hotaru Futaba costume in there?

Also, hey guys, haven't posted in a while. I left for college and kept my PS3 at home. So...yeah. Darn.

There's a rather large fighting game community here, so that's good.

Been gone awhile, having settled back into school and all, but I'm now up for some SSF4 whenever anyone wants to play.

The internet at my apartment seems to be much more friendly to PSN compared to what I had at home =D

good couple games pf. Sorry to bail so early. Too bad it was one bar the whole time. I guess I don't have a powerful enough internetz.

Getting off wireless is the first step to a better connection.

Yeah ggs option, you seem solid as ever. I was a bit winded after losing to my friend's fuerte for an hour straight, so hopefully we'll get some fresh games in later =p

In similar news (old), it seems all console versions of SFIV and SSFIV have a little native delay/lag. approx 5-7 frames.

However, no one has done a concrete test as described in Kanta-Kun's SRK post

I don't think you UNDERSTAND the issue here. YOU DO NOT KNOW, on which frame the button was actually activated.

THE ONLY way to test this is either A: You have a LED, light-on-activation button, then you can sync the lights (still not 100%); OR B: YOU HAVE 1 STICK, 1 BUTTON, 2 PCBS, connected to BOTH CONSOLES, ON THE SAME MODEL OF MONITORS, 1 RECORDING.

That's THE ONLY way to know exactly how much difference there is.

However, your test somehow seemed pretty reliable. 2 frames does seem like A LOT though... sucks.

I'd also like to point out that the 2-frame test was the results of a single guy compared to the 1-frame result of everybody else who has done the test.

Nice info here.

http://www.snk-capcom.com/?p=2324

These days, it’s been pretty quiet in terms of gaming news from SNK Playmore Corp with some random news here and there for Xbox Live/PS3 releases, such as KOF Skystage and NEO GEO Heroes, which are surprisingly both shooters (both to be released as download format only). While console owners anxiously await for the release of King of Fighters XIII for both PS3 and Xbox 360, in order to get a taste of their much improved (over KOF XII) and praised fighter, you have to head to your arcades to capture the action. The only problem is, most arcades, especially in the United States (unless imported the unit from Japan/Hong Kong), are pretty much out of luck as all new units of KOF XIII on the Taito Type X² have all dried up and are out on the market. From the distributors that we’ve spoken to, used copies of this game are selling for more than the original new price itself (Sold as a NEW Kit: Taito Type X² Motherboard and KOF XIII Software ranges between $3500-4200 USD). A huge chunk of change considering today’s economy, but gamers are lining up to play, SNK Playmore Corp’s (and their former SNK JP) convincingly best product to this date. Well, all we can say is, when you make a quality product, you get results. As for the console version of the game, we will get a more detailed report on this in the next few weeks, but preliminary reports we received is that the online gameplay will NOT disappoint. We hope so because that could be a deal killer because these days, it’s all about the online gameplay.

Capcom just shit on Guile scrubs. Hopefully this loketest will get patched into the console version. Also Blanka Ballers are in for a bad time. Oh yeah and Ryu scrubs will cry tears of anguish at this new update.

6:45PM PST-Ryu and Akuma's Air hurricane kicks are not good for escaping anymore. (Anonymous Location Tester)

Blanka:
Blocked Blanka Ball now recoils at half the distance, much easier to punish."

Guile:
Damage down, Sonic Boom does not build super meter.

I am pleased.

lol. I'd really like to know what goes through the devs' minds when they fiddle around with balance.

Sonic booms don't generate meter? wtf, they really should just play around with the charge time and recovery.

Now I'm hankering to play Yang. slashes are teh smexy. $8 DLC chars, here we come!

I do welcome the Blanka ball nerf.

Poor Bison and his U2 nerf.

Though the Ryu and Akuma nerfed hurricane kicks, I dunno. Ryu's shoryu nerf then this... Maybe it was ever since Daigo wooped Ono in a casual match.

They can't change specific character situations, they have to change the game engine. Problem they face is that when they change something, something else in the game will change as well. They are clueless on what that other change is, which is why they have loc tests.

Fighting games are truly the only genre that really works the hardest on perfecting their game (which is why we see so many version of one game). Other games just come out with a new one with just as many problems.

Just to point out, this will be the 4th version of SF4. SF4 (arcade version) SF4 (console) SSF4 (console) SSF4 (arcade).

They can change specifics. The game boils down to hitboxes, frame data, move properties etc. They have the ability to change one aspect. If it was the case having to change the whole game engine over and over again, it'd clearly be inefficient.

But the saying still holds true, "one drop can create a ripple in the pond." That's why they still need to do these location tests.

Im trying to find the article, but there was one with Seth Killian talking about how it is very difficult for them to just patch the game. At the same time, look at the PC version of SF4, you can change the skins of the character, but their everything else is still the same.

Thats why they have to create a new game, because of the changes required to make (or SSF4 would have been a dlc?)

Wish they would show us some love and bring a loc test here in the states.

BTW my Bison is now in the shitter. Been playing Fei so much that i can't even use him anymore lol.
so it is now confirmed that Guile's SB DOES build meter.
Yeah I saw that. It builds meter. Just a lot less then it used to do. Plus the damage reduction. I see it this way

2009: I don't use Sagat because he's overpowered. I really like his play style!
2010: LOL fuck YOU SAGAT BYE!

This is Guile

2009: Guile is worthless in this version
2010: I always loved Guile and always used him. You just didn't see me.

Vanilla SFIV was not designed for extensive patching. SSFIV is, however.

The bitter tears that have been flowing only serve to strengthen me.
This is why I'm glad Sakura isn't getting buffed =D
Nah, Capcom wouldn't buff her. They might add more moves with panty shots however. I'm for that.

Anyone down to group share battle fantasia? i've played it once before and it just looks cool.

btw the new kof needs a console release!
I've been playing KOF lately for something different. Paco would be proud.
But you need MORE EFFORT. PRACTICE HARDER LEST YOU BE McRAPED by the console release of 13. If you want to main Mature in 13, then you better practice in 12 due to a lot of her frame traps being from 12. Ironic since nobody used Mature in 12.....
GGs to j-cart in SSFIV. That was a long session indeed. :)

Edit - Oh yeah, almost forgot. Does anyone want an Uncharted 2 DLC Siege pack code/ or Pain download code?
I'll take the Uncharted 2 DLC Siege pack.
I'll take the Uncharted 2 DLC Siege pack.
pms'ed.

Edit-Pain has vanished.

I'll take Pain. gg games tonight.

I need to play again more often. Been trying the real life version and it gave me 8 stitches above my left eye.

Just to livin up the thread a bit with videos.

Check the FGT thread for urai's Guile vs. Yun video.

Posted this cause there's no Yang love.

It's not the best video. But it's something. There's no Yang videos yet. All I see is, "Yun, Yun, and more Yun".
Can't wait to pick him up though, lol. Dive kicks buahahaha.

Watch Yang vs. Yang on ssfiv youtube.

edit-GGs to Knackered/espy (I think) in ssfiv. I keep getting hit by those overheads lol. There were times I couldn't react fast enough with the neckbreaker. LK kazegiri looked really good by the way you were using it. I got caught so many times with it. I was expecting more b.mp or st.hk as anti-airs.

Wonder twin powers activate. I'm definitely excited about Yang. Hope dat DLC comes our way.

I'm still soul searching, trying to find a character to stick with. Tried Ryu, Ibuki, and now Fei Long... I wonder if there are going to be any more characters added to SSFIV Arcade Edition.

Also psyched about 3s (though, a long ways off). Though I suck at it, the more and more I play it, the more I like the system. None of that stupid stuff like in SFIV, but there are still mashers on GGPO. Oh well...

Also, good game Esper... haha, sorry it was only one game. I'm such a jerkface.

gg to you too Esper (it was me). I can't combo, so I have to resort to guerrilla tactics in my play style which is high risk, especially against someone that can combo consistently like you, but it works against some players. You totally killed me, but it was fun.

Yeah but I kept guessing when to use it and missing and getting punished (some people might call the way I play 'spamming').

We need to settle the score you one hitter quitter.

I play on GGPO sometimes. ID- BearGrylls2010
I also see some peeps messin around with yun and yang in some rooms. Lovely.
They're getting ready for that dlc.

Just wondering... have you had any previous matchup experience against any vipers online/offline?

Whenever I'm on, feel free to play me again. Just keep playing me to learn the matchup.

Focus attack is your friend when playing against her. Or you can use blanka or honda. I hate them both.

That was an awesome vid. Loved the Makoto vortex in the beginning while Guile was bobbin' his head.

And crazy, Ryu has an instant ground crossup.

Desk is my hero. Screw yo' turbos and tool assisted combos!
And crazy, Ryu has an instant ground crossup.
You talkin' about what he did to fuerte? That only works on him and it's a glitch that lets him pass through fuerte while he's waking up.

This thread needs more love.

MvC3 now has Albert Wesker in the line up. I hope to make my team the villians with Wesker, Super-Skrull and as of now Dr. Doom.

Capcom doesn't have very many villains...

Just a couple, but they weren't very good.

I would probably use Focus more if I wasn't playing on a pad, plus I'm too old school sometimes for all these new features. But play again, for sure.
