Everyone is CA should try to go to this (out of staters should make it a trip!). I'm not sure about entering (because I suck), but it would be cool to meet some CAGs in person.
I am from the area, so I know all the hot spots to eat/drink and whatever. I expect Esper and Option to be at this (and playing too).
Damn I'd kill someone to have a scene around my campus. I think I'll just start posting fliers around school. I have literally only played 1 person live who actually plays, and he's the guy who got me into fighters a year ago.
Everyone I try to teach gets frustrated with the controls and quits =(

The reason why I was unable to join in the earlier games beef was because I was uploading something.
edit- Nah, I'm just going to let it sit there. I'm cruel.
Man, I'm exhausted. I feel like crap. Fatigue really affected me in the later games. Sorry about that espy. My rule is, I don't stop till someone stops playing. Felt like an endurance run out of mortal kombat.

Ahem...
Pay for my flight tickets.

Haha, no need to apologize, I had fun. I don't care if your fatigue allowed me to win the 1/10 matches towards the end, a win is a win!
If I was messing up and seeming like I was being cocky by not finishing off some rounds (ultra to finish off or chip damage Shoryu) it was because of execution errors on this new stick.
Anyway, Esper's Combo Exhibition night was fun. GG's to Esper, Knackered, and the couple of games I had with Beef.
Split gas money with someone and I'll buy you a beer/shot(s).
I think I am going to try to play in this. I don't expect to get very far, but I think I should at least try.
Gonna drop Fei Long now and stick with my M. Bison.
You got till Oct. 24th to get in with the cheap pre-reg (after this date it goes from $30 to $50). So there is time, but everyone from Cali should try to go to this. It would be cool to finally put some faces on some CAGs (and know some real names).
I figured something was wrong when you took your time trying to kill me when I was dizzied, and I still won.
Lol, yeahhh. Regardless of that, that's on me. Need to hit up practice mode. I've been trying to understand some option select inputs but I can't get them to work.
Likewise, good games to the both of you. Espy, you gotta upgrade to a stick lol. I remember when I used to play on pad. My hand builds a thumb cramp after 1 hr of gameplay. Prior to this, I had a hand injury couple years back. (I caught the tip of the football into my palm/thumb area. The impact from the catch was so hard, it made my whole left hand numb. Followed by stinging pain around my palm/thumb area.)
When SF4 hit, I tried to do some qcf, qcb, and charge motions on a pad. It wasn't pleasant. I couldn't bear the pain in my left thumb anymore. Thus, I bought the TE stick. In a couple of months, I was pulling off qcf, qcb, and charge motions effortlessly. After long periods of usage on a stick, I don't feel any sort of cramps or pain. With wrist movement, you're able to pull off precise movements in the game. I feel like I made the best choice converting myself to stick.
Well, if you want to stick to pad. Go for it. [cliche]Use whatever feels comfortable for you.[/cliche]
Oh... and Option, you're such a troll. You're probably a troll in real life.
In the near future, I might upload some dan vids for fun.
I was thinking... Anyone here wants their ssfiv replay to be uploaded on youtube? Shitty quality, but it's something.
Feel free to ask me if you want a replay to be put up from your replay list. I'll put it on my channel.
Hahaha, there's no way I'm going to SoCal Regionals. It's expensive enough getting down there and finding a place to stay without getting reamed by the venue fee.

No matter how long or how many times I try to play stick, I just can't make the transition. I've owned and sold probably 5 or 6 arcade sticks, I just can't do it. I just need more buttons on this pad.
One day I'll beat both of you and get my 2 wins in a row!

Do you keep switching back to a pad as a crutch when you're losing? If so, you gotta suck up the losses and keep at it if you really want to make the transition. Don't touch that controller unless it's to play another game.

Nope, I switch back after a couple months of being unable to throw fireballs or DP. I played Esper the other night for 50 matches and won maybe 2, so I don't have a problem losing.
Hey, espy. Good games bud. Since we both are in SD, we should play local. I'll pass down whatever knowledge I have and awaken your hidden power ala DBZ.

Good games to esper as well.
GG to you too. Sure, that'd be cool. I don't want to go super saiyan though, I'd look dumb blond.
Esper, that video up there fooled me for a split second because I thought you recorded me. Then I saw the the 3P symbol flash so much, I knew it wasn't me. c:
Espy, just play with whatever method you want. Sticks or pads, shit dont matter one bit whatsoever. If you suck, then you suck. If you're good, then you're good. That's the bottom line.
It takes time and dedication to be good at something. No one can switch to stick overnight. But hey, there's nothing wrong with pad. Honestly, I think it's more effective in inputting direction motions. There are alwas pros and cons.
Dude who wrote that article probably gets bodied in the Seth matchup, hence the adjective he used. I don't feel bad for anyone who is annoyed by Seth. Learn the matchup. Everyone in my crew has played me long enough to learn the Seth matchup with their character and I also lend things that their character can do to beat him. It went from extremely annoying for them to now being comfortable with what they can and can't do.
Also I'm not sure if you main Ibuki 100%, but Ibuki destroys Seth. Matchup is 6-4 but it's far worse if you OS Slide, Vortex and Frame Trap.

No I meant ProfessorBeef=Mr. Beef, I don't read this thread much, though, so I don't know anyone on here except option and Esper.
I do main Ibuki, but I haven't played much since SFA3, so I don't know what to do against most of the new characters or even what they can do or how their moves work. Even so, I'm a casual player.
No big deal either way though, GG to you.
The link is interesting to me in that of the players that visit srk.com, there seems to be a pretty even spread of usage (supposedly anyway) of all the characters. The description of Seth users just made me laugh.
The description of Seth users just made me laugh.
It exists because that writer gets bodied by that character. I find it hilarious
Seth is such a dickhead character that he (to my knowledge) has not gotten Top 8 at any major that I can think of. Sure he scrapes out smaller tournaments or places well in some areas ranbats, but it's hard to run him successfully at bigger tournaments because of the kind of character he is.
I can't make more than maybe 1-1.5 mistakes in a match against a good player. A character like Ibuki can kill me 2.5 combos. Ryu can do it in the same. Pretty easy ones too. Also I have to be constantly guessing right on my rushdown. Hell, I have to be constantly guessing on anything I do that has a solid or good result.
I'm learning Ibuki currently for the matchups I'm not comfortable with playing Seth with.
Another thing I noticed about your Ibuki is you did the Stomp Kicks too much. It's pretty bad on block and a lot of characters can tag you in the air when you are doing it.
^ Seriously. Ibuki's Penguin Kick is not to be abused unless you're fighting a Zangief, who can do nothing about it except on wakeup with a reversal clothesline. I'm not kidding around either! I have beaten competent Giefs using only Penguin Kick. You can argue how "competent" they actually were if they lost to just that, but I also need to mention that I was hit-confirming into Super. The point is, Gief honestly has very little options against it.
Right now, the hands-down worst matchups for me as Ibuki are Bison, Honda, and Balrog. Bison and Honda are no surprise, since those two are already her worst matches. Balrog...well, I always stink against him.

I'm aware of this, but it's just how I prefer to play.
