CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!
Hey, I was Ken. I had to.
Only 3s Ken can pull that off. I miss taunts that could actually kill your opponent...

some loops require s. LK

i know sakura has a bunch of varying links in between light shunpu, depends on what you start with, it varies with characters too

but for that case, I think c. HP works

what's worth mentioning is that setup after ex shunpu, light srk in the corner, never saw it before
Only 3s Ken can pull that off. I miss taunts that could actually kill your opponent...
I miss leapfrog taunt :(
Esper why do you use s.lk to continue your links instead of cr.hp?
I think it's a matter of personal preference. I just find j.mk, close s.mk, lk shunpu, s.lk xx ex shunpu easier to execute than j.mk, close s.mk, lk shunpu, c.hp xx ex shunpu (more dmg).
C.hp - I'm just not comfortable using it during the tatsu loop. Half the time, it doesn't come out for me.

Anyone have any replays that they want me to put on youtube?

Where I get my only round off you.

Actually if you happen to have any of my scrub Bison footage I'll take it. I need to fix my game.

BTW how do you upload the videos?

http://www.amazon.com/JVC-PICSIO-GC...JII4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1285994892&sr=8-1

This is the camera that I used for recording. My cousin just let me borrow it, he has no need for it right now.

As soon as I captured all of the footage from the camera, it directly formats the files to .mov, so easy to upload to youtube. I just plug in the camera into my desktop, simple drag and drop the files, and then go into youtube. Click "upload" and you're set. Long wait times for 2:00-3:00 min. (200-300+ mb each) videos. So, 35-40+ mins. for each video, I think?

I do not happen to have any footage besides Ibuki(me) vs. Sagat(you). So yeah, sorry. If you want to play later on, I'll play. So, I can get some Bison footage. Just straight up match vids. No funny trailer clips, or anything random.
Maybe

Question - Do you want your inputs displayed?/not displayed?

GGs to everyone tonight, fun times. Do you all play offline against people a lot?

I wish I could get my executions down, it's keeping my game down and my ability to pick up other characters. I was trying to do Ibuki's SJC to Ultra II for over an hour and my success rate for the right side of the screen is like 35% and for the left side I was literally only able to do it once.

Very frustrating.

I know for a fact Esper and option don't, nor do I. Feel free to correct me gentlemen.

Option can't play offline, otherwise he'll realize just how shitty Capcoms netcode is.

It's okay, my ultra commands are still teleports.

GGs to all tonight. I get bored of playing Bison despite him being my main, so thats why you see me messing with others.

Sadly I can't pick up characters like how Option does.

Is there any fighting game with as decent netcode as ssf4?

LOL SSF4 netcode decent? I claim shenanigans. Most people would say blazblue, but the reason that seems so smooth is that the netcode has a five frame leniency in the moves, plus the game acts as if you pressed the button five times when in online mode. It's better then what non ggpo stuff is, but still not quite there.

Super SF4 has crappy netcode and I blame casuals and Crapcom for that. Casuals see it as better because it looks "smooth" over stuff like GGPO which DOES DEM RULL BACKKZ AND THAT IS NOT SMOOTH!

Interesting, got any proof to back up the 5 frame claim and the 5 button press? I'm looking for specifically where you saw the "5 frames" claim.

Sorry I am only going off of my personal experiences. SSF4 felt better than Tekken 6, MvC2 and HDR.

I was just wondering if there was other games that would consider themselves better online play than ssf4. Sadly I havent played BB, I want to play more fighters, but the art does appeal to me.

People claim BB has better netcode, but I think it still suffers over longer distances.

I've had better luck with the rollback netcode included in MvC2 and HDR over longer distances. I would say this has the best netcode atm. But the games themselves are glitchy in the matchmaking dept.

Also, Esper, how about all the vids I just beasted on you guys, that would be great. Haha, j/k.

Great games everyone last night/this morn.

edit: I also play people locally once in a while, but nothing really competitive.

@espy: For Ibuki, try to learn her frame traps, and her spin kick loop.

i.e. st.close mp, st.lp, st.mk xx whatever

or

st.close mp, st.mk xx whatever

as for spin kick loop, it only works on some chars and is a 1 frame link. But this is how it goes.

cr.lk xx lk. spin kick, st.lp, st.mk xx whatever.

It was on a Shoryuken Debate somewhere. The only thing I can find right now is this.

http://www.arcsystemworks.com/

On technical document 3 it says

When network lag is detected, our technology compliments this delay and uses it to toperform cpu and gpu intensive tasks such as rendering

why our network code makes network lag virtually transparent to the US. When a delay is detected, we examine the condition which existed before the delay and the current condtiion, and use our proprietary technology to create a new condition based on this
examination.

Damn I wish I could find that god damn link with the five frame window.

SRK debate? Fair enough, I'll just take your word for it since they'd have to be the ones to provide me with a source anyway.

When it comes to playing fighters online though... you live with what you can get, good or bad. However sometimes it's so bad, even somebody who has never played a fighter before can immediately tell it sucks. As long as you can satisfy an intermediate player, I say you've made some decent netcode. No "pro" player will ever be happy playing online or accept any netcode over offline play ever. It will always suck for one reason or another because of that.

GGs to everyone last night. I might do 10 matches (or more - depending on my mood) each night. So, keep checking at night for the uploaded vids. I'll try to get this done as soon as possible. Just sit tight.

Who knows what Aksys is really using. I do know it's better then Super Street Fighter 4. Then again, Has Capcom even bothered to improve that? It's the same damn second input delay that Capcom VS SNK 2 had back in 2001 with the original freaking Xbox. Though I do notice some lag when fighting them Japanese people. But there seems to be quite a bit of leniency in the combos compared to other fighting games.

Didn't Kawaks help Aksys with their netcode?

I think Capcom only lowered the requirements between the number of bars you see in SSFIV. I haven't seen any "improvements" beyond that, just new features.

No clue who helped with BB's netcode.
speaking of bb, when is cs going to drop in pricee...

but then again do I want to play an over-nerfed rachel?
Balance patch coming soon, so you probably wouldn't have to deal with it for long.

It's under playlist "CAG SSF4 10/1/10".

Some of the videos are up. Still more to come. Not finished yet.

Anyone see the no K' Raiden or Mature videos? And I'm thinking of putting Vice on my team.

Sweet videos.

The the game clearly sees that I am trying to tech Esper's throw's but I rarely ever tech them how come?

Sadly that sagat one, I knew that it was going to happen. I was so frustrated that I couldn't throw it out that when I did, I realized that it was too late.

I love the titles and captions you gave these videos.

(cody vs. ryu)
Looking at it, option in the 2nd round did try to press for a fireball. SOB I did guess right but the dude didnt press the right buttons!

/ninja edit

Option has a SON?!

Are you plinking? It'll make that C.hp a lot easier to link. Hit jab a split second before the fierce and you should only see the fierce, it'll give you an extra frame to play with.

*faints*

And I'm sorry, but GET THAT UFC BULLSHIT OUTTA HERE!

That is all.

Nothing, and I mean nothing can help you against TEH LAG. We are teh doomed.

Also, great vids esper. Love the titles and descriptions.

Phame- Just like option said. It's either lag, or... I forget to plink at times. One or the other.

Youtube - I just started this ssfiv youtube channel for fun. I'm glad you guys like it. I think it's a great way to show our replays because it's accessible to everyone. It's better than inviting ppl from your friends list to watch a single clip.

It's convenient for you (watch it anytime) and it's convenient for me because it opened up a lot of space on my replay list. Plus, we get to share all our beauty secrets - inputs, habits, and other misc. random stuff.

I added 10+ videos. I have 10 more to go. No more panzer vids. Sorry about that man. You left mid-session. I was kind of hoping I would get more replays of you. I know I missed some of your matches. (I forgot to press "save reservation" at times [I was browsing internet/bathroom break) My fault. If you can send me some of the missing matches that weren't posted on youtube, that would be cool. Thanks.

Every character except Rachel ... for now. Balance patches ftw!

What was that?

Esper needs less flame kicks and more flame whiffs. Good Games!

btw Paco, new update for kof13 but when is there gonna be a console release?

lol good games. Next time i'll play, no flame kicks at all. I'll setup a handicap for myself. See how long I can go w/o it. It'll be interesting. :) Mulligan!

youtube video - The flash kick into ex flash was hilarious.

Actually YES there is going to be a console version. ONE person knows the release date or estimated release date, BUT he will NOT tell anyone due to confidentiality. Here's the post.
