another party got discount codes, and i was going off his math...honestly i'm a bit behind on the ratios and how they work, but two games for $13 is still ok in my book

Well if the total cost of both games are $72 then it should be $24 resell/12 phantom which honestly isn't much of a difference. The ratios are 1/3 of the total cost are for resells and 1/6 are for phantoms. If you want to pay more go for it as in the end it is your choice but just wanted to let you know of the pricing structure everyone uses. Pretty good deal getting the codes for $30 off.

I'm also backing out of the atelier escha group (I was the only member still in it). I just bought a phantom from someone earlier. Still in for the group for Hundred Knight, though!

praise the sun

i just hit soul level 100 in dark souls 2, 40 hours in. if anyone needs tips feel free to hit me up. game is way easier than dark souls 1

two huge tips for beginners:

weapon:
get the fire longsword in the forest and use that for pretty much the entire game (unfortunately i don't remember where it is but you can get to the forest right from the main town), dont forget to upgrade when you can. it's lasted me this far without having to use anything else. only enemies i've encountered that it sucked against was the smelter boss (bc of his fire resistance) and the fire salamanders under the forest (which you cant really get to until after you get to iron keep way later in the game anyway)

armor:
after you beat the first boss (last giant), turn around and go back out the way you came (id advise using a bonfire first to level up with the souls you got from the boss then back tracking). turn right at the end and you'll see an orange door. go in there using the key you got from the boss and you will fight another boss shortly after. use the ballista nearby to take like 90% of his hp off. after this, look for a ledge to drop down (don't use the crows nest yet). it leads to a dead body with the drangelic armor which i used for 3/4 of the game. has crazy stats to be available that early on
