Really sucks to hear about the phantoms that folks have lost. I thought I had it bad when my DA:I auto updated from 1.02 to the 1.05 update [even when I have auto download off], but losing access to full games [recent ones too like Bloodborne and BL] is way worse.

Even though I no longer socially post on the thread anymore for reasons known to most I see alot of you guys got hit hard with the phantom pain by psn. Due to most of you guys loosing your phantoms especially those who lost out big due to the bigger titles dropping recently I decided to extend my services a bit.

Wow lol. How embarrassing! And now CAG has gained even more attention (notoriety?). I hope Cheapy doesn't see this or we could be looking at a bigger problem for the gs community.
 
Hey Guys I have a bit of a noob question about sharing. I am about to let someone access a phantom, and I have the account I built activated as my primary PS4. Do I need to deactivate it as my primary before giving them the info? And also how would I go about deactivating them once I am back on my console?

Sorry for the noobness, but I do not want to mess this up or cause a lockout for this person.

Looking for Gta V (resale), Ghost w/ the season pass (phantom or resale), and/or 2 Battlefield Hardline (ps4- phantoms). And my son lost a Dying Light phantom to the update, but his others still work great; even after shutoffs, standy- bys, and system resumes... Go fig???

With people losing alot of phantoms; would this make the prices drop for phantoms- i mean like the ratio when someone is setting up a share group?

I don't understand why it locked. You downloaded it, I deactivated you and then you said it locked? You must of logged back into the bloodbourne account. You messaged me saying you want your money back? I don't mind giving u ur money back but just make sure you don't log into the phantom account next time.
 
I still have my one and only phantom, Bloodborne. At night sometimes I'd leave my ps4 on and it would turn off by itself and when I go to work I turn it off instead of putting it on rest or suspend. I doubt it has anything to do with that, but hey.
 
I'd like to get to the bottom of it as well. This whole thing could really affect the way we do gamesharing.

Not sure i would be so nice about it. Follow the phantom instruction and if you dont, well too bad; if you indicated that everything was good and then i reset and the locked was because of you or the update....i wouldnt give a penny back. Thats just my take on that situation though ^.^

yeah, he comes across as not knowing how the method works tbh, he probably did relog onto the account

I know it's not my fault but I don't think he has been a phantom before and I didn't tell him that logging into the account would lock it so I kind of feel bad about it.
 
I wonder if it has anything to do with how long the console is off/resting. I was playing my console roughly every night (about every 24 hours), but then I skipped a night and played the next morning (about 36 hours had passed) and that's when I noticed the lock.

I'm fairly sure they're talking about their account becoming locked like everybody else... though their english is not so good, I feel they are looking for reasons why their account is now locked after the update.

If this is the case, if you do sell a phantom again, before deactivating the safest method is changing the password first and resetting afterwards.

 
It is strange that it's not just the update as people have said their phantoms were fine for days after the update was installed and locked later on.

I wonder if it has something to do with that automatic upload of save files to the cloud.. Maybe the ppl who's phantoms locked had space in their cloud for the save files.. Who knows. Sounds like it's still happening to people..

Please do the test:

1. Create dummy account

2. Download any demo (demos are licensed too)

3. Activate on first console

4. Change password

5. Turn the activated console into sleep mode

6. Reset

7. Turn on console and go to the profile = you are still signed in, but can do nothing

7a. Login on the second console and the first will receive "another user signed in". How? The password has been changed.

8. License lost

Changing emails gives the same result. On 2.50 phantom checks are most likely random, otherwise all of them should be lost.

Log out second it starts to download and never log back in

After shutdown you may go to the stiff account, accidentally, for example. That test shows the rest mode > access data.

what if Sony is testing a new way to deactivate just with some accounts and then it will go over everything? it makes sense, if you deactivate your console, then next time that console get internet access, itself check all licenses.
The solution it will be staying offline forever :eek:

That was subject of another test (switch user, sleep mode for 12h and "accidentally" back to deactivated account). License lost.

Looking for a Watch Dogs ps4 share

As for ps4 phantoms only 100% safe method disconnect your ps4 from the internet... and wait til next firmware and hope its fixed... (install it from usb stick), but anyways no new reports of lost phantoms today it seems?!

FYI: I have three phantoms, BF4, BF4 Premium and NFS Rivals. They're still working but I didn't use rest mode with the new suspend option and I haven't touched my settings.

 
Frankly since all my phantoms still work I'm afraid to change any settings. Have been using a combination of rest mode, suspend/resume, and power down since the update. Automatic save upload is off, and automatic update is on (though no phantoms have updated since the new firmware.)

If it takes disabling PS4 settings for phantoms to work okay then that option will be literally dead to many people.

Can only see timeshares doing well and cross -buys

 
It is a very odd (and unfortunate) situation what has been going on with the phantoms, but just as a comment of my situation I must say that I have two phantoms in my PS4 console, one with a single game, the other with several games and both of them are fine (as of now), both times I did logged of / changed password / turned off after completely downloaded and installed the games (updates and stuff as well) I have all default settings in my console (never changed the auto updates/upload files thing) and I just recently left my console on rest mode for several hours to download GTAV... although I've never left it in rest mode for more than 12 hours.

 
Just realized that my Battlefield Hardline is a phantom.  Normally go into rest mode so that I can charge my controller and my cloud backup doesn't work because my main account is being shared and isn't set to primary.  Did notice that the last update fail so had to manually run the update.
