CAGLS: Official NHL 13 No Hockey League - Playoffs! Rd 1 - Deadline 12/11!

I think this needs to be a new rule. Around all major holidays their should be an extra two or three days just because of the holiday. I really think it is a good idea as I have only been able to play one of the people I have in this set and the others have not responded here on CAG.

I would like it to be Weds. That would probably put us at Sunday deadline for the end of the season, which I think is fine.
 
Yeah, I'd definitely plan to do the same thing for Christmas (around which I'll actually be out of town for 5 days, and won't be able to play at all). But having a legitimate one week advancement around holidays seems reasonable. I seriously feel like I've spent more time on microsoftstore.com this past week than I have on my Xbox, lol. TOO MANY SALES!!! :hot:

Crap, I just realized...so does this mean that last set would end on Sunday, therefore playoffs start Monday?

I'm very likely taking a road trip with some friends 12-4 to 12-9, so I might miss playoffs if that's the case.
 
Couple good games with Boston, turning point in game 2 after an early 1-0 lead was when Giroux absolutely leveled Chara on a wide swing with all momentum going into the hit. This was seconds after Chara destroyed Briere on a hit. I've never lined up a hit like that before. I felt a huge momentum swing in my favor after I did that, actually did a little fist pump haha.

that was definitely the turning point, I couldnt believe you did that. Good games man, I couldnt pass to save my life tonight. Lots of stupid turnovers.

Phx owner will you be able to play tonight around 10:30 pm EST? If not I will be only available to play till about 11:00 am tomorrow since I go back to working the 2nd shift for the next month.
 
Can't remember who else besides Detroit and Colorado needs to play me, but I'll have a decent amount of time tonight between 7 PM EST and 10 PM EST (playing Detroit at 10:30). Obviously, height and weight don't always tell the full story. But EA claiming that player types and attributes actually matter this year is a complete joke. Guys who don't hit are just tossing these huge defensemen around like it's nothing. And when you factor in how the AI plays, it just gets way out of hand.
 
Yup, thats the problem I have with the player types and all- sometimes it just seems like nothing matters as far as attributes and heighr/weight are concerned, and it's all just random at times. Then you have big booming hits that get shrugged off, but then a love tap gives a guy a concussion
 
Showing we can still be civil, two great game between Detroit and Nashville last night. I took the first 3-1, where Rinne had two of the craziest saves I think I've ever seen in the game. What's nuts is they were saves I could actually see a real goalie make, not glitch type stuff. Game two Nate erased a 2-0 deficit with a minute remaining and buried one in OT 3-2. Good shit man, nice split.

He beat me for the 2nd straight meeting. Leighton just keeps shutting me down. Scored only 1 goal in 2 games now against him. I now have split the season series 2-2 with Philly and Pitt, and that is with one win being against CPU Philly and one win against Pitt being a screw job on DT after a goalie interference that wasn't called.

I just looked ahead to see who my last 5 are against. Looks like the Caps, Panthers (I'm surprised since I could have swore we had already played 4 times), Buffalo, CPU Canes, and CPU Leafs.

Yeah, I was really missing Weber in that first game. I just had no defensive presence in front of the net. Rinne started out like shit in that game too (I think your 3 goals came on your first 10-11 shots). He finally stepped it up after that though, but it was too little, too late.

In the 2nd game, I felt like I was getting good shots on Howard, but nothing was getting through. Then in the final minute, I get goals 6 seconds apart. Crazy. Proves that sometimes you just have to keep playing and hope a bounce eventually goes your way. I wasn't sure if I needed to start a fight or set something on fire to get my guys going though, lol. Good games.

Pretty realistic actually. Howard is so damn consistently inconsistent both in this game and real life. I have him in HUT and just like real life... He either is spot on and plays flawless or gives up one and immediately gives up 1-3 more.

On another HUT related note... I feel like I got a good steal the other day, I picked up Mike Smith for 3,600 pucks, Plekanec for 2,500, and Franzen for 1,000. Not too bad since I'm sure had I bought a pack that 7,100 would have just translated to two scrub AHL 80s and a 20 game contract. lol

I have 85 points, Panthers have 85 points. I have two more games played overall though. It's going to be an interesting last week in the eastern conference for sure.
 
Just finished my game with St. Louis and lost Martin Erat for 14 games due to a brutal hit in the final 5 minutes of a 5-2 game. Roman Josi was also injured earlier when the score was 3-0 (but it looks like he won't miss any time). Not accusing sendme of anything...cause it could just be his guys playing "harder", but it just starts to feel headhunter-y. As always, I blame EA for even allowing this "tactic" to be an option. But it really sucks. Feels like you're screwed for winning and you're screwed for losing. Basically, you're just screwed for playing this game.
 
Sorry about Josi and Erat. I saw Erat go down and be taken to the back. I never even noticed Josi. I was not going after your guys at all. I really thought I was going to come back and do good after the 2 I got in the third. I thought I would at least tie the game at 3-3.

Yeah, Josi had one of those "I'm going to lay here for 20 minutes until the announcer notices I'm hurt" injuries. I guess he kept playing though, so it must not have been that bad. Yeah, I thought you were going to tie it too, but fortunately for me, Andrei Kostitsyn had enough of that, and scored twice in the 3rd. GG...like I said, I just wish EA didn't program the AI to play like goons and for injuries to not be so damn common.

Also, I took my injury frustrations out on CPU San Jose (though looking at their injury report, I'm not the only one, lol), and knocked out Martin Havlat for 30 games with a broken foot. Take that, CPU!

So, I'm trying to get the achievement for collecting all players, jerseys and logo for a single team. I've been working on Minnesota as at the time they seemed one of the cheapest due to me acquiring Backstrom for only 1500 pucks. However it seems some of the lower rated non rares are rare as all shit. If anyone can help me with the 4 cards I'm missing I would gladly return them or try to pay/trade you what I can for them. I need Stoner, Lundin, Johnson and Kampfer. Thank you.

I've been somewhat lucky. This season although I have lost some good players. Of the top 6 players on my team, I have lost Subban for 20 or 25 games, Gionta for 45, Markov for 11 (I think it was 11), Pacioretty for 7, and then the rest were mostly 3rd and 4th liners. The Subban one is probably the one that hurt the worst though since it he was doing really good and had I think something like 17 points in 15 games before getting hurt. Since being back, I think he has had maybe 5 points. Now all he does is hurt people.

I've just been really fortunate that I haven't had a lot of key players out at once like Moojuice and a few others.

I'll keep an eye out for them since I am constantly in the auction house. What positions are all of them? If I do find them I'll let you know. I'd be willing to either sell them to you for however much I paid or for a similar rated player.

I'm somewhat collecting the Wings... But I'm not holding my breath as their is no way in hell I'll ever get a Datsyuk, Zetty, or Kronwall since they are going for 250k, 100k, and 25k respectively. I think out of the rest of the team the only ones I need are Holmer, Hudler, and Filp who are constantly in the auction house.

EDIT: I actually just looked and I have a Lundin. I see all 4 of them in the auction house now... Lundin is going for 2.5k, Stoner is 3,750, Johnson is 6-7k, and Kampfer is 2k.

I also just checked, apparently I'm missing a very rare Wing. I am at 14/23 with Hudler, Holmer, Filp, Cleary, and Emmerton who are all easily available and affordable. Then Kronwall, Zetty, and Dats. No freaking idea who the 9th is.

Well, this will be an interesting finish in the Northwest division. As the last set approaches, Minnesota and Colorado are tied with 106 points, both with records of 51-21-4.
 
Awesome. CPU Columbus just knocked out Craig Smith for 49 games with a herniated disc. What's really weird is that this injury to Smith showed up instantly in my "team transactions" section, but the injuries to Weber and Erat aren't there (but are visible from the "injury report"). Maybe my coach will get injured next so I can herniate my NHL 13 disc right out the window. Good fucking grief, game.
