There's the original article confirming it by the CEO... hey, he says its a spinoff, thats cool, I can live with that.

But wait, what's this? It was announced to be Call of Duty 3, and why, it's not "all next-gen" as the CEO put it, hitting Playstation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the Wii.

You think developing it for no less then five different systems, they can at least put the damn game where it originated?? For someone who's bought EVERY Call of Duty for the PC, this is like a giant slap in the face.

Upon browsing the internet, various message boards, etc etc, rumors are surfacing that they will throw a subtitle on the game, and that Infinity Ward (who makes the good CoD games) is working on a CoD game of its own, set in modern times (but that's a huge huge rumor).

The console versions are being made by Treyarch, but still, if it really is just plain old, non subtitled, Call of Duty 3, it sucks that they are skipping the PC.

Apparently sales for CoD 2 for the 360 blew away the PC version.

Well considering they were at an attach rate of 75% at launch. That's pretty damn huge.
