Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 - July Elite DLC out now, Terminal free for everyone

Both of mine (one is the gf's) came in today from CoD XP!

Too bad I wouldnt be able to play it till Tuesday because of work/school

Does anyone know if we can share COD Elite with 2 consoles like the season pass for Gears 3? I am guessing it's just a download and can be "shared" like all other DLC.

It needs to track your gamertag right? I'm not sure how that would work for 2 consoles.

I think he attended the COD Xp event earlier in the year. All attendees received a free copy of the game (well not free for the cost of the event ticket if you paid for it) At least that's what I think Call of Duty XP is

Correct, attended XP. That's why I put "My COD XP copies".

I don't know. I thought it was just a file that sat in your hard drive. I'm sure someone will try it by Friday. (I won't get my copy from Walmart until then)

i hope so, i wanted to grab elite, but if my bro had to buy elite, it would then make it cost $100 instead of $60 for the maps, so i would have to wait for map packs to be released.

If not I could always sell my Hardened Edition and then have enough to buy the game and two Elite memberships. Prices are going through the roof and they'll probably go higher next week.

Over an hour in line just got mine though!

Hey guys this is my first ever review so try not to be to critical. I managed to snag an early copy of the game; so this review will cover my overall impression of the game so far. I have already completed campaign on veteran, and spent over 8 hours on the multiplayer. I will divide this review into two sections. As we all know multiplayer plays a huge role in the Call of duty series so that will be in a part all its own, the other will be on single player. Do not be alarmed there will be no major spoilers, in regards to the campaign.

Without giving much away the story in Modern warfare 3 is incredible. The story picks up immediately after the end of Modern Warfare 2. The opening scene was very memorable and sets up the entire mood for the rest of the game. The campaign is filled with over the top missions, in which you play a variety of characters. With the exception of one level you play as mostly new faces to the Modern Warfare universe. My only complaints with the campaign is that there seems to be a lot more changes in characters and perspective which can make the story slightly hard to follow. One minute you could be boarding a submarine, suddenly you find you are in Africa playing as a completely different character, or performing a covert mission as another character. The campaign as a whole is great however and brings the story to a satisfying conclusion, though be warned it is very short, it took me about 8 hours to finish on veteran.

Before I review the multiplayer, I would like everyone to know that for me personally multiplayer is the major selling point for any game, since it is there that I spend the majority of my time. That being said in every Call of duty game since Call of duty 4, I have always played multiplayer before the campaign. And this wasn’t any different. I immediately noticed that the multiplayer in this game feels slower, if you carry anything other than an smg and shotgun your character literally sprints for 5 steps before stopping. The only thing that seems to be faster is the time it takes to die. Quick scoping returns, as well as the incredibly annoying MW2 snipers. A few guns in the game seem to be already overpowered and have already become overused; which can also be said about the new support killstreaks. Let’s just say that you will see a lot more Stealth bombers, Emps, and Advanced UAVs. The maps themselves also seem to be badly designed compared to previous titles in the Call of Duty franchise. Overall, I can safely say that multiplayer is MW3’s weakest part.

MW3 can be best described as somewhat of a mixed package. The multiplayer is the weakest out of all the previous titles, but the campaign is incredibly fun and brings the trilogy to a satisfying conclusion that every fan of the Modern Warfare should experience. However the campaign alone is not worth the admission price of 60 dollars. Multiplayer though somewhat off balanced is still enjoyable, but not even on the same level of Call of duty 4 or even Black ops. I would recommend even the most hardcore Call of duty veterans, to try this game out (rental) before you pay 60 dollars for it.

My Score is a 7.5/10

Had an awesome midnight launch! 350 people at the GameStop at Easton Town Center in Columbus, OH. Chipotle gave away free food and coupons for BOGO burritos, and there was a Red Bull truck giving away free ones.
you are a very distinguished reviewer, totally not buying it now
Lol thank you please understand that I am not saying by any means this game is bad, it is definitely a strongly recommended rental.

Went to the Wal-Mart in Holland, MI on my way from work and got there about 11:45 PM and I was about 10th in line. Just got the standard edition for now and figured I'd hit up Kmart in the morning.

I am kind of wondering if it is going to be a bigger launch than Black Ops. Here in West Michigan (Grand Rapids and Holland areas) it seems like some of the places haven't had as big of lines. Last year I got to Meijer (like a Wal-Mart for those of you not in MI, OH, IN, KY, or IL) and when I got there at 12:05 they were sold out. They had over 200 360 and 150 PS3 copies and all were gone (they don't do pre-orders either). Tonight I called after getting my copy to see if they had the Hardened and asked if they were sold-out of the regular edition. They said they still had a lot left. Interesting considering they are about 5-10 minutes away from the 3rd largest college in MI and weren't sold out.

Ended up with four hardened editions. Two more than we need. Posting stuff in the trade area. Awesome night since we got loads of swag too.

Also I can't sign into the Elite website either.... Or the 360 Elite interface thingy.

Haven't tried to redeem my founder status card.

Hardened edition is really blah. Huge box, crappy steelbook and just a beat up looking small pocket notebook with notes taken in action. 2 avatar codes which i'll sell and of course the discounted Elite membership which is the only reason I bought it.

Anyone else notice the unusual amount of time it takes the game to load a lobby, leave a lobby, switch party leaders/game modes, etc.? I have the game installed to my hard drive so I know that can't be the problem. My friend says everything loads instantly on his end, whereas he ends up waiting for me to finish loading the lobby or whatever needs to be loaded. For instance, when I load up multiplayer, I'll be staring at a black screen for 5+ seconds or when I attempt to join a lobby the screen will just freeze for a good while. I know you can expect loading times in these situations, but when someone else can load everything instantaneously, I have to wonder if something is wrong. At first, I thought it was because my friend was party leader, but it didn't make a difference when we switched.

It's not a big deal or anything, I'm just worried if I received a somewhat defective copy. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues as well?

Played for about 3 hours already. Didn't have any problems. All screens loaded or switched really fast for me. This was without the game being installed on the hard drive.

I have noticed that same thing espically at the end of the match when switching to the next match.

LOL! Man you should be a comedian.

On the other hand COD is always just the same old rehashed crap. It was a great game way back in the day on the PC but after MW the game just went down hill. MW2 sucked, Black Ops sucked, MW3 sucks. Fanboys will be fanboys though.

So I ended up buying this game and I just don't feel it. Trying to get into it but can't. Black Ops was enjoyable and MW2 was as well in the beginning, but this game just feels too much like MW2. Going to continue giving it a chance but as of now, meh.

I hear ya. This is the first COD since 4, that I didn't have on day one. This game feels like a huge map pack of dlc. I'm actually waiting for a price drop...maybe black Friday?

Just got my Amazon delivery of the Hardened Edition. It looks beautiful, lol. Can't wait to dive into this later in the week.

Still waiting on UPS to deliver my Hardened edition.
Why do people always insist on going into game forums for titles they do not like or just hate to post?

Also, in before the usuals start bashing this game's single-player, mp balance, etc since they have the best stats ever to make their opinion worth more

First impressions...I'm hating this game so far. The speed of the players seems way too fast, and I can't get a game going with a party. Playing solo, the game boots up super quick. Also the game feels ancient, like I went back to MW2...granted its the same engine, but I didn't think i would mind as much as I do. :/

For those of you who got the hardened edition...when can you access your new call sign and weapon camo? Do you have to reach a certain level?

Sheep will be sheep and buy games by unproven studios because it has a brand name on it that used to be good 10 years ago. baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

And others will worry about how people spend their money.

I cant find a hardened edition. If i buy the standard one, can I still get the elite service and founder status separately? I know the hardened one comes with some goodies, but i can live w/o them.

Had to work the midnight release last night at my BBY. Had a insanely huge turnout so I didn't manage to get home till around 2:15am 2:30am was way to pooped to play so that's what I'll be doing all day today. I'm trying to register for an Elite account but it's not letting me. The webpage keeps giving me an error...

You have until November 13th to buy the game and Elite separately and still get "Founder" status.
