Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 - July Elite DLC out now, Terminal free for everyone

Neither perk REALLY cancels out the other, but they certainly will help..

For those who haven't seen video of it, it makes the tagged enemy show up as a constant dot on your radar for about five seconds or so. If you're using Recon Pro and damage your enemy in any way, it's going to be literally impossible for them to effectively hide from you. It's also going to be another big advantage to Specialist streak users.

You earn Prestige Points, and each item costs a prestige point. You get 1 point per prestige, other ways to earn them also.

I'm guessing that this means you can hit the level cap, but wait to prestige until you unlock a bonus prestige point. Then you can pick two rewards at the same time. Personally, if true, I want an extra create a class slot, and the ability to keep one of my weapons.

I'm pretty sure it's just you. I've seen quite a bit of MW3 video, and the only time I've ever seen the Recon perk working was when the player was using it, not another team member. If it was everyone, I think it would be a little too powerful.

One big use for it is going to be watching your back with a Claymore or Bouncing Betty. Even if your enemy is using Flack Jacket, you're going to know exactly where they are for several seconds.
 
That new strike packages trailer has gotten me very worried. In MW2 there were those people that got hight K/D ratios just getting strike package after strike package and now everyone is going to be able to do that? I know they are not the same type but I am scared it's going to be a cluster fuck of strike packages. I guess I am back to playing Hardcore again (hope hardcore gets rid of most of these things)
 
My biggest worry is that the airspace might be too crowded all the time. I hate it when I get air support but can't get it called in due to everyone elses.

Nice. thanks for that. So does that mean 1 Prestige Point for EACH time you Prestiged or 1 Prestige Point for each COD game you've Prestiged in? I'm assuming the former.

From the way he worded it, and with how crazy it would be for people to have 30 our 40 prestige points when they are just starting MW3, I would guess it's one point for each game where you have prestiged at least once, which would be a maximum of four points.
 
Looks like the Hardened Edition pre-orders are sold out on Amazon and Gamestop.com. Glad to see I pre-ordered and also pretty glad to see limited editions being more limited lately (this, Dark Souls and Forza 4)
 
He confirmed on Twitter a little bit ago that it is just one point per game that you Prestiged in.

One other thing of note having to do with Prestige Shop... Once you purchase a gun, equipment, a perk, etc. You never have to repurchase it for future prestiges, it will always carry over with you.

great news!! will probably use it on the acr, one of the higher level smgs, or claymore/betty.


edit: i would hope its not off save files, pretty sure i deleted my cod4 ones.

Well it's actually good that you can keep your unlocked item basically forever. The way he worded it, I understood that the item you unlocked will only stay with you for that particular prestige level, then it would be locked again unless you spend another prestige point on it.
 
I don't think it'd be tracked by game saves. I'm thinking they can track it based on Gamertag and searching it against the leaderboards.

Which brings up a problem for those that have prestiged/used different accounts. Bowling was getting a lot of tweets from people last night asking about that type of situation.

On a related note, you may want to play some of those games if you changed your GT because I don't think the leaderboard updates with your new GT until you log on to the specific game.
 
Multiplayer profiles have been saved online for all the COD games I've played. So, yeah, they know which ones you've prestiged.

Now maybe it'd be worth finally going prestige on W@W. Where is that disk?
 
again if anyone wants to play MW2 Spec Ops with me, i'll be online all night tonight just drop me a message. i have yet to play any of the missions and really want to.
 
Damn, I never got max level in WaW for the first prestige because that game was shit. I also didn't bother prestiging in Black Ops but am max level. I might as well prestige for this because I'll most likely never play BO again.
 
I can't remember if I ever prestiged in mw1. I never played it as much as 2 or blops. Gotta think I did once though...

Yeah, might as well. Anyways, they're flipping the Double XP switch on the 27th of this month across all Call Of Duty games and you're not losing anything, might as well Prestige and get something towards MW3. By the way, don't know if anyone caught this but in WaW if you prestige you get a 0 achievement unlocked (secret)..think it's been the only CoD game with an online multiplayer achievement.

F-me, I just cancelled my preorder with Amazon since I had some credit and switched it to BF3 since they are giving the $20 credit with it now.

tbh, you'll thank yourself later if their track record with dlc repeats itself. the first dlc pack is planned for january for some reason(these are 4 maps that were cut from the original multiplayer list and planned as DLC)
 
So how many hours do you think it would take to go from lvl 35 to lvl 65 in COD:W@W with Double XP?

Not sure if it would be worth it to buy the game and rank up just for 1 token but might if it's not too big a hassle.

depending on your skill, and what game-types you play, about 12 hours of play. i would recommend going for uncompleted gun challenges/getting wins in game modes,etc and capping flags/planting the bomb when possible.

That's not too bad. I'll definitely take ur advice though. SnD, Headquarters, & Demolition will probably be most bang for the buck along with the gun challenges. Thx :D
 
This rewarding previous prestiged games is awesome and great timing versus BF3 opening weekend. I never did in W@W or CoD4 i'll have to go back and hit the buttons to prestige. Gotta borrow W@W or rent it lol I don't even have it anymore.

Anyone look on Ebay and see how retarded gamers are? Mountain Dew lids are selling for more than the price of a 20oz soda with the lid on it!!! Pisses me off because I quit drinking soda but damn I want those codes lol I always check the recycle bin at work and take lids. Probably will pick up some $.99 cent bottles though to pair up with any Dorritos codes I have to get the bonus, i'll pay $1 for 30 minutes extra double exp.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shipped with 16 maps on the disc.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 shipped with 16 maps on the disc.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will ship with 16 maps on the disc.

What exactly do you believe was "cut" from the game to release as DLC, and where did you hear that in the first place?



On another note, COD4 and World at War on the 360 have been all but completely ruined by hackers. Don't expect an enjoyable time if you're going back in and wanting to rank up.

Then again, maybe enough normal players will hop on to rank up, and it will help matters. Just make sure you keep your expectations low.
 
Hm.......I got up to rank 47 in MW2. How long do you all think it would take to prestige with double XP? I already prestiged in Black Ops, but an extra prestige point would be nice.
 
Guess I did prestige in W@W damn I drove across and rented for 1 night at family video lol. Level 43 1st prestige... It's damn fun though feels so arcadey and has some nice maps as long as no tanks are involved! lol

I know for a fact I stopped at highest level on CoD4 and just whored.


Edit: I take it back every couple games you get hackers that can't be killed or call dogs at game start. Plus annoying gay ass banner ads for their cheats all over the screen. Glad I don't have to rank up with that shit going on. Was 10K plus people online right now though, I was surprised to see that.

Wow $28 for 3 hours of double xp. I could see paying 3-4 dollars a hour if you didn't want to drink soda and really wanted the double xp to be able to unlock things faster but you could buy the pop dump it out and still be well ahead. Btw target has 4 12 packs for $10 this week. ( both regular and diet)

Just saw the Best Buy ad for the pre-order, and it says in order to obtain the Founder Status in COD Elite you have to activate the elite subscription by November 13th. My pre-order from Amazon is said right now to have delivery of Nov 15th. Anyone have any solid info on this?

@uyi1 yes, you lose Founders Status, that's what has to be activated by 11/13. Maps come with the membership.

You could also just buy the Elite membership pass @ launch, get Founder Status and wait for a deal on MW3. It'll be a hot title so you know there will be deals on it near Xmas. I haven't seen a good deal on it yet @ retail. Usually a gift card but nothing of interest yet.
 
Yeah my wife got it for me for my birthday, I'll just have her change it to release day shipping and pay the extra. Chances are it'll come before the 13th anyway but why take the risk.
 
I'm trying to get the Hardened edition and was planning to buy from amazon but this weekend they were oos.. Should have ordered before but i had no idea they'll run out like this. Anyways do you guys think they will have more stock or is there another place that will have it release day shipping?

I have a feeling Activision cut off the preorders for founder status probably.
 
^ Me too.. i don't see why they'll cut it off now, as long as it's before the release date i would think that is all still fair.
So annoying that this has happened because now i'm trying to get a hardened edition everywhere and of course they're all out of preorders. Wouldn't have happened if i didn't hesitate between the regular and hardened.

Release date delivery was $1.00 extra, but Amazon is currently sold out of Hardened Edition pre-orders. If you want, call customer service and see if you can change your shipping to release date delivery, but MAKE SURE that they know they can not cancel the order in order to change the shipping.

And for anyone wondering, these are the Founder rewards:

- Special Founder status on Call of Duty Elite, including:
- Unique Founder weapon camo and profile skin
- Exclusive Founder in-game Player Card and Emblem
- Access to the private ""#Founder" Group
- Special Founder Clan XP boost
- Special Founder Operations, Events and Leagues

If history repeats itself, a couple of days before release Amazon will offer 20 dollars in credit with the standard version. That's what they did with Black Ops. You'll still lose out on the hardened edition exclusives, but you'll still get all the DLC and Founder stuff (by paying for it separately), and you'll end up paying 10 dollars less overall.

Then again, they might not do a credit deal this year beyond the $10 that they're currently offering. Keep your fingers crossed.

there was an accurate leak about all the maps that were in the game, there were originally 20 and then IW announced during XP that there are only 16 on disc.

I went ahead and ordered one through best buy's website which seem to have it available still for $116 and expedited shipping. Hopefully amazon will get some stock and i can get it through them instead and save some money. Do you also know if there will be some release day? Like the midnight releases at gamestop, if they'll have the hardened edition?

A leak just means that they were working on content, not that they ever had any intention of including it all on the disc. DLC means a different timetable, and a different budget. Even before the game ships, you're going to reach a point where some people are working on DLC, because their work on the main game is over.

Working on DLC before your game has been released is perfectly fine with me. The only time I feel that this is not acceptable is when it turns out that the content is already on the retail disc, but locked until you buy the DLC. Unless that happens, I'm fine.

I would say that they'll likely be in short supply. I believe it was the K-Mart rep here who said that he's only expecting to have one per store, and maybe not even that. If I were you, I'd call some stores a day or two before release and ask how many Hardened editions they will have to sell.[/QUOTE]

Uggh. Thought I had prestiged in all but W@W, but it turns out I only got to level 40 in MW2 and the main menu states that is 57% thru mp. I'm also at 45 in W@W. Guess I've got some game playing to do this week between this and unlocking stuff in UC3 mp since once UC3 comes out I won't be playing old CoDs. Is there a deadline for prestiging in older games to get the reward in MW3?

It has been announced that, thankfully, there is no deadline. Even after MW3 has been out for six months, you should still be able to pick up a copy of an older COD title and earn an extra prestige token for MW3.

That sounds about right. I think his estimate was somewhere along the lines of one out of every two of their stores would get a single copy.

Frack, I don't thnk my game will be shipped to me in time. I've even tried to bump up the shipping but no go.
