Captain Lou Albano (1933-2009) memorial wrestling topic

In memory of Shane McMahon, his greatest moment in recent years.
Oh god, I had totally forgotten about that. He absolutely destroyed that ref. Edge wishes his spear had 1/10th that much impact.

SHANE TO TNA?!?!? COME...ON!!!!

Look - I bet you growing up Shane probably enjoyed the business, but knew it wasn't for him. He probably seen shit that us fans would literally pay thousands of dollars to hear about. The wildest stories possible. The craziest shit never spoken about. The downfalls, and the coverups, and how death is treated, all all that shit.

If ie's like most kids, he probably took mental and physical notes of what his daddy (Vince) was doing and what he would'wouldn't do if he could ever run a business of his own. We did a report on this for my capstone in college - the WWE is a dying product and shareholders are feeling it. Its clearly isn't going away anytime soon, but, the cash cow ain't skirting out milk

For all we know, Shame's real passion might be....theatre production. Or, he might have a strong international background. Or, fuck, he might be a master chef and realizes that he's 30+ years old and haven't started on his dreams yet.

Either that....or like others suggested....he realized that if he stayed, he wouldn't get the business anyways. There's a possibity that all his ideas he had got shot down and he's just not into this business anymore. Lord knows hes not dumb! He ain't going ot show up on TNA or ROH or whatever trying to start a feud that America doesn't care about. And with his background, the public will believe his fights are fixed if he takes over MMA company

Basicaly, this long rant is implying that he's probably burnt out from WWE and just wanna do his thing. If the storylines are right, he probably is more like his mama and would rather be far away from the product. You could always tell Linda was uncomfortable

So I missed Smackdown last night because My 9 just had to show baseball in Spanish instead. What a crock.

I didn't feel like trying to catch the beginning of it in order to tape it, and I didn't have enough time remaining on my tape to do that anyway. I had last Thursday's Super Impact as well as Clone Wars (which I started taping an hour early so I didn't forget) on the tape taking up way too much space.

I sent My 9 an angry email. Probably won't do anything.

If you have a decent internet connection you can watch Smackdown! on Hulu.

I was going to respectfully disagree on "Shane's greatest moment of recent years" and post the video of Kane attaching his balls to a car battery, but couldn't find it.

Holy shit! I knew it wasn't going to do anything, but it didn't even deliver! I got in my email inbox this morning a notice saying that the message failed to deliver! It sent, but it did not deliver! My 9's communication form on their website is absolutely useless!

Very interesting about Shane. Wonder if they will do a sendoff show or anything for him or just have him quietly exit the company.

Agreeing with everyone here who thinks that it is stupid to say Shane is going to any other wrestling promotion. He's simply burnt out and wants to at least TRY something aside from working for daddy, which is respectable.

No.
Really? Come on. He's the most likely McMahon to leave, but he's still a McMahon.
I don't find it too surprising. He's been primarily involved with the marketing and financial side of the company for several years now and left the creative aspect ( ) to Vince and Stephanie. Purely speculation on my part but I'd guess that he realizes that WWE is in a serious rut and can't get out of it without a direct competitor with enough financial backing to give them a good kick in the ass. No company does it's best work without someone actively trying to take market share from them.

I can see Shane working for another company and when a coworker doesn't refill the paper in the copier he sees him walking down the hall to the conference room and hits them with that pounce. Then he could wipe his forehead on a cubicle and be on his way. Terry Tate would be proud.

These Ultimate X matches are so stupid.

I haven't seen TNA since Tazz started announcing. They should have kept Don West. This feels like an episode of Smackdown now.

Champs retain in the match

Lacy Von Erich is worthless until they have her in some matches.

Next up is the Legends Match.

Man the crowd was against Lashley. Every time Joe pulled off a high impact move the crowd cheered and every move from Lashley was booed. Not good if you are trying to build him as a major face.
WTF Abyss, you fucked up bad.. Crowd still showing respect to him though after the match
Are you talking about that pin?

How bad was the Daniels/Suicide spot in the Ult. X match?

How bad was the Abyss/Foley match?

Recaps of both seem like they were both horrible and dangerous beyond description.
Reports are saying that
Brian Kendrick, Chuck Palumbo, and RVD
are backstage at BFG.
Weaksauce ending for the main event of their "biggest PPV of the year"....
yeah, id like to know what happened when styles told sting to come back to the ring, the feed went out and never came back.

Was that ending botched? It looked like Sting sorta just fell down by himself and then AJ hit the splash. Weak match/ending, I agree.

It seemed rushed to allow Sting mic time. I figured AJ would finish with either a 450 or corkscrew.

Daniels/Suicide wasn't so much bad as it was unnecessarily dangerous. The stutters and jumps in the feed didn't make it easy to see it but it looked like Daniels could have just as easily broke his neck.

Abyss/Foley wasn't bad at all for being a Monster's Ball match. It was particularly brutal but those two don't exactly go halfway. The bad part was when Abyss didn't kick in time and the sub ref clearly hit 3, clear enough that TnT had to acknowledge it.
