Check all the usual suspects (Staples, CompUSA, Office Depot, etc.) for their current sale HDDs. Sometimes you can get lucky with a combination sale/rebate. Newegg.com usually has some of the best Internet prices, so check there as well.

If you're going to upgrade your HDD, you really ought to go for at least a 120GB model if not larger.

well, i found a really good deal at circuitcity.com, i was going to just drive up to CC and get it, because it had a great rebate offer, but i don't have $100 to spend to get $50 back, and people kept saying that they burn up.

i think at compusa ad this week, theres a 80 gb hd for 45 bucks iirc after instant rebates. if u buy 2 80 gb hds, the price will turn into 39.99 each
