ChromeHounds - Gen. Discussion & Info

Got out of class late, so I missed you guys...looks like another good time on tuesday.

I'm down for thursdays if we can get a group going at that time.

I by mistake deleted my little wheel hound and have to rebuild it. I did not have it saved when I loaded up my inverse hound.

I will try to play some on Thursday if I am available.
 
Sorry guys, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight as originaly planned. If I see you guys late at night when I get home I'll join though.

Played this at a demo kiosk the other day... it was actually kind of cool, reminded me alot of Mechwarrior 2. If only it would drop down to $40 I'd pick it up =/
 
I finally got the time to finish single player last night. My game time has been limited to after 10 or 11PM PST, so I keep missing out on seeing everyone online. Hopefully this weekend.

Any other West Coast night owls out there?

I finished up building my first Mech the other day but haven't played online with it yet. It is a reverse walker with 2 light snipers, 2 rocket launchers, and 3 rifles. Anyone have any tips or advice for a first time builder? I would hate to slow down the squad with a crappy mech.

Check the OP for joining the squad. You basically need to find Ramo Z online he's the only one that can kick someone out to let you in. Toper and Me usually play around those times.
 
I ussually cash in by 1am,I try to keep a regular sleep schedule.

Did anyone play last night? I didnt see anyone on at 9:30 cst, so I just went to a bar instead.
 
I am going to be out of commission for a little while I got the 3 RED LIGHTS and they won't go away this time. But I will be back in action in about a week and a half. Catch you guys soon.

I have a crapload of tax returns to get done between now and Oct 15, so I doubt I will be on early. I might be able to make it about 11PM PST. I will be checking my Friends List online - maybe I can catch Ramo on and jump in long enough to get into the clan.


As an aside - how many active Hounds do you guys have in your garage? I redid my soldier-sniper to make him more of a sniper, but do I need to build one for each class? I have heard that you need a heavy hound for the secret weapon mission.

I'll be on, not sure how long. I keep about 5-6 hounds in my save file, whatever I like I save. No need to keep one for each class, as for the secret weapon missions, we have yet to be a part of one. They seem to occur when we are at work.
 
Found info on the secret weapons:

step 1. take Tarakia's, Morskoj's, or Sal Kar's capital

step 2. let Tarakia's, Morskoj's, or Sal Kar's take back there capital

step 3. let Morskoj take Xivera
let Sal Kar take Gazi
let Tarakia take unknow place

step 4. wait till super weapon appears

Some people don't seem to believe him, but he does make sense. When I got the nation resurrected achivement is when I got the message that some Special Army (Tarakians Superweapon 3 superhounds) joined us.

Sorry, I couldn't play last night. I'm trying to finish getting my house ready to go on the market and mrs. shipwreck said Chromehounds wouldn't help.

Sorry, I thought I had posted that. Anomynous left the squad a week or so ago. So for now there is one spot.

I haven't played anything lately but I will definitely make it this Thursday.

Thanks for showing the newbie around. I had fun, even though my hound totally blows. I did some tweaking and hopefully this new one can hold out a bit longer. Look for me this weekend. I hope to be on in the evenings to try out the new hound.

Lets just hope our nation gets resurected.

Well I just got hit with some bogus news, MS messed up shipping my coffin box and now I am going to be out probably I estimate until October 19th. I supposed to get the box on Monday. Then 3 days to ship it back. Two days for repairs or to send out a replacement. Then three more days of shipping.

I am so pissed right now!

I might go by a friends house with my profile and play but I will not be officially online for a while.

That blows, you should demand satisfaction. Ask for something free. Maybe a game or the camera.

hah, I noticed that you were doing some missions earlier in the day when I ran some in the other day, and then saw the time... I'm up, unfortunately, I'm working. ;)
 
Logged on last night and the war had finally ended. No resurection acheivement for me this time around.

Nobody was on so I jumped in to free-play to try out some hound modifications. I am glad I played with you guys before I tried that mode out. If I hadn't, I probably would have given up on Xbox Live multiplayer completely. I kept getting my ass handed to me by fast little scout fuckers with multiple double cannons. It seemed like that was the only hound anyone was using.

Speaking of which, what is the actual part name/number for the double canon? Was it a free or paid download? Any strategy to counter other than stay back and snipe?
 
Tempted to pick this up from BestBuy for 45.00 after GGC....but if I waited this long I might as well keep waiting for a 39.99 msrp.
 
JT, the one most use is a heavy weapon free download. Its in the marketplace. Free mode is kinda crappy unless you are playing it with your friends, due to people who make cheap hounds.

Sweet. I will be on XBL tonight. Hopefully, there will be some room in the squad so I can be added. In the meantime, I will continue working on the Single Player missions. Got to get those hound parts!

Thanks to all for welcoming me to the squad ("Just come over here and we will show you what that's about"), and helping me get started online. I had a blast.

I have a couple of quick questions:
- If anyone knows of any decent Hound builds, send them my way. Preferably ones that rely on Tarakian parts, since that is all I have access to at the moment.
- Is there a way to accrue experience towards rank while playing online without the rest of the squad? If I participate in "The War" on my own will I get my ass handed to me?

I would like to know this too. I can't often get on as late as everyone else, but wouldn't mind playing an hour here and there during the week by myself if possible.
 
feel free to start one player N.War games. Its going to just pit you against one hound then. You will get just as many points and everything on your own as you will with us.

Thanks for the insight, guys. I have a couple of questions concerning the squad lottery system, but I am sure that I will figure them out before I reach Private rank.

Also, who isnt in the squad anymore? I need to send out friend requests to those that arent already on my list.
