ECW was lucky they even got on the card.

And they play everything backwards becasue they are aware that it is at a very inconveniant time. They want people to see the main event first ( what they *think* the people want to see ) so they don't have to stay up to watch everything else.
Didn't one of the Von Erich's have TSS or something?
David, I think. There's a great deal of debate, to this day, about his mysterious death in Japan.

Actually, it appears it was Michael Von Erich. I checked his Wiki page, and his story is incredibly tragic - he injured his shoulder while on tour in Israel, and following surgery, developed Toxic Shock. The condition destroyed him both physically and mentally, leading to severe depression and drug use, finally culminating in his suicide at the age of 23.

Jesus.

Mike, actually. David's official cause of death had to do with his intestines, though mykevermin is indeed correct about the mystery surrounding the death... it's said that Bruiser Brody flushed a buncha stuff down David's toilet before the medics arrived. (Same link, scroll up a bit.)

[edit] beaten like a gubbmint mule.

The plight of the Von Erichs is covered fairly well in the Heroes of World Class documentary, and also covered in its SE rendition by the Torch editors who go into more depth about the problems that plagued each brother. Hell of a DVD set, and I think it's only $15 at Best Buy.

And for your daily TNA bashing videos.....

The second one is my favorite "remix" vid yet, and the third one (with Meltzer~!) ruled too. Not fond of any of the robot ones, mainly due to that annoying voice used for it.

I agree. However when the "All For Love" remix of the Kurt/Karen stuff kicks in then it owns.

Watching these videos only shows how really absurd TNA is right now. Even I, the TNA fanboy of CAG, cannot and will NOT defend this shit.
Same here. Well, maybe not on that level because they don't want to bury Matt but at least, if it's going to be staged, don't make Matt wear that stupid-ass headguard. It made him look like a wimp going into the match.
I disagree that Matt looked like a wimp. He was going up against a boxer. Not only a Boxer but a 4 time Heavyweight champ. Matt is not a boxer.. I sure as heck wouldn't want to get there against Holyfield with out it. It made him look a little stupid, but I'd rather look stupid and not have my brain slosh against my skull because Evandrr forgot to pull a punch than not wear it. :)

I didn't catch SNME, but it sounds like the boxing match was supposed to make MVP look like a bigger heel for (1) wimping out of a bout w/ Hardy, (2) replacing him in the bout with Holyfield, someone much better than MVP as a boxer, and by (3) MVP's claims that he and Holyfield are on the same level as boxers.

That's the theory behind it, anyway; I don't know how well that was executed. If Hardy was made to look like a fool by Holyfield, well, he was beat by Evander Holyfield, not some Joe Blow boxer, so it's not as if Hardy was "squashed," IMO (even if he was).

Hey Myke, Did I miss the link for the 8-18 OVW or did you Upload it? No big deal if you didn't... Just asking if I missed it is all.

Not yet. Busy weekend. Got to watch the Bengals fuck things up in the preseason, and then spent all day Sunday at the east coast WFTDA tournament in Columbus.

I'll get to it today or tomorrow. Feature matchup is Colt Cabana versus Shawn Spears for the TV title.

I always thought it'd be neat if WWE introduced a TV Champion that would defend the title across all the brands. I think it'd be a good way to build up lesser card guys or solidify someone in the midcard
Looks like Raw is getting bumped next week to Sci-Fi cause of Tennis. Yeah, the ratings for that are going to be good.
As long as the WWE mentions that its on Sci-Fi at least 10 times per segment tonight then they will be okay ratings wise.

Ratings for Raw, or for the Tennis?

Because all those things they show instead of Raw (Tennis,Dog Shows etc.) KILL Raw in Ratings.
Tennis doesn't outdraw Raw, but they get higher advertising revunues from it because of demographics associated with each audience.
Exactly, it's all political. If WWE keeps putting on the crap they're putting, Tennis may outdraw raw though. All jokes aside, isn't next week the show after Summerslam/Triple H's return to Raw? That alone should help ratings.

It didn't help the last couple of times he returned.

WWE.com is running a 15% off orders of $65 or more right now.

Again there's great temptation to move on that Royal Rumble set. Still marked at $156.99, but the 15% drops it down to $133.44, before sales tax kicks 6% back on, moving it to $141.44, and then Vince's assine shipping charges of $13.95 bring the final total to about $155.40 after rounding.

Probably worth it though, as that's roughly $7.77 per Rumble. Course I already own the 2004 Rumble, and the actual 1992 Rumble with Ric Flair and the end of the '91 Rumble.

This is going for nearly $200 on Amazon right now for some reason as well.

Just read the above comments...sucks that Raw is gunna be on Sci-Fi next week, but i guess if its gunna be the return of hhh it won't be all bad (i can definatley see him main eventing asap)

stupid mcmahon storyline still goes on...im thinking itll turn out like this:

male--->young--->mr. kennedy (if of course they see if its a young guy or old guy, i dont know but tonight they'll reveal the gender)

I know Kennedy is supposed to be the child, but I wonder if Vince is sick enough to reveal HHH as the child.

Remember, he did the Katie Vick angle, and he wanted to do an angle where Shane or even Vince himself was the father of Stephanie's baby.

Gah. Loved the ladder match DVD but the blurred logos were too distracting. That and when people silenced when they say " WWF".

Still don't understand how that case happened and how the World Wildlife Foundation won. . All they should've done was servayed a few 100 thousand people and ask them if they new what the WWF was. Plus during that time...damn.

The Fund won because WWE violated their agreement to not promote "WWF" shows outside of the U.S. WWF.com was also a key point in the lawsuit. I don't so much mind the WWF/E name change, but the blurring and muting destroys some matches (like the Rock/HHH match being halfway blurred, literally, at various points).

Just noticed that the lazy fatass whine-until-I-quit wrestling Tazz is commenting tonight. Where's the pedophile?

BTW, the second half of Triple Mania XV was on Galavision yesterday. The main event was a "cage of death" match pitting X-Pac, Kenzo Suzuki, and Mesias against the Hell Brothers (Cibernetico, Chessman, and Charly Manson). It was shaped like the Elimination Chamber, and the match was won by escaping a manhole-size opening in the top. Excellent, excellent, excellent match. Hunt it down if you can.

Sweet, Taz may have just killed the Cryme Time gimmick by chanting with them.

Nice to see Londrick win, heck nice to just see Londrick finally on Raw after they dominated SD.

Santino is money.

"Christmas HAM!, or however you-a say it."

Snitsky is undefeated now.

They must mean Bald Snitsky, I seem to remember "It wasn't me" Snitsky getting pinned left, right and centre.

I was kinda hoping to see Crime Time selling off some of Hogan's jewelery. That would be such a great way for Vince to stick it to Hogan. But im sure Hogan would find some way to sue him for the stunt.
that really was a moty contender....
Truly, an epic display of technical prowess by both contenders, culminating in a Lyger bomb off the top rope through a table. Just awesome.
I will say that was an extremely stiff lariat Cena took.
Did he get his head knocked off in the process?

... okay, I can dream now can't I?
Did he get his head knocked off in the process?

Unfortunately not. It looked like he came at it a low angle which caused him to slam his head against the mat extremely hard.

Santino should be champion.

And I feel weird for saying that, because I'd groan like I had a sub-atomic ulcer any time I saw him when he was a mega-face.

I just have this feeling that the WWE is eventually going to screw up his heel turn like they do with everything in the company and then just bury him.

It's too bad they won't push him as hard as they previously pushed him (into the dirt).

The irony here is he's such a good heel, that he's going to get over with the smarks. Hooking up with Maria (on screen) saved Marella's career. True not as a face like I'm guessing the writers intended, but by making him that much more dislikable.
