Here is the thing about SR2 deal it is not a sale price in fact Best buy raised the price to 24.99 so it should work and be 5 dollar with the 20 off coupon(once posted on the rwz gamer zone site) tomorrow.

FF was YMMV because it was on sale for 19.99 and had a coupon for 20 off that said on it "Not valid on sale prices". Lets Tap for wii will be the same way tomorrow if the coupon is posted on the site.
 
For those looking for filler, amazon's trade in value for Metroid Prime Trilogy is 23.50. However, I just went to BB and the manager had to do an over-ride for the coupon to work because the coupon would not scan. I only had 1 FF for 360 that I was checking out and no other items.

As long as you have 1-2 other Blockbuster stores around by you, I'd just try breaking up the other 3 copies among the other two stores or call them first and ask them if you have a receipt can you trade in multiples at the same time.

As for the Value Card, it's a yellow gift card that is only for store credit from trades. You have to ask them to put it on a Value Card. Otherwise, they will have to transfer your balance electronically if you want to use any of the credit you amass from those 5 copies at another store.

Believe me, after they do that 1-2 times, they'll want to throw the remaining credit on a card for you.:D



Actually, I believe the current trade promo at GS is 'trade 3, get $10 extra, trade 4, get $20 extra', so you have to decide if you want an extra $3 per game or an extra $5 per game. I know what I'd decide on.

As for me, I just traded one of each to my closest Blockbuster about 40 minutes ago and I walked out with a $44 giftcard.

No crap... I went in BIG on this deal... But I only have 1 BB around me anymore. The other 2 just closed... So I may be stuck using GS and one of their deals... Oh well. May at least drop 2 at the one remaining BB just to have a little credit there.

I figured the number of people that were gonna brave 24" of snow today was small, so I didn't feel bad raping BB on it. I left a few at each store in case someone came in after me...
 
One Best Buy that rejects in the Bay Area, CA is the one on curtner in san jose.

HOWEVER, I am now pretty much reading that the coupons dont work anywhere anymore and the deal is dead? can we agree on this? the last couple of pages are pretty much just people saying it didnt work for them.

Also, Im hearing the SR2 coupon comes out tomorrow aka when the deal starts. can anyone confirm?

I think my BBV still has some consoles....it is hit or miss though. When does BBV raise their trade in values?

How are you going to use a Gamestop promotion when they dont allow trading in multiple copies of one game. ymmv but is there a good way to get past this? but cash in on the trade in 5 and get 20 dollars more

I left one copy for the PS3(since I had to have them cancel one off my receipt cuz the coupon only covered 5 copies per)and according to my one friend from CAG who's local a 'ton of 360 copies'. By his estimation 20+ on the one shelf.

So apparently I'm not as bad of a hoarder as I thought.:D

Gs promo will only work if you have two other titles. Based on every gs I have went to none will take more than one copy of the same game for the same system.

Just got home from Huntsville, Alabama and had the same thing happen. Tried to get two 360 FTFs and nothing came off. Cashier had someone else come over and he said that the price probably dropped since the coupon was put out. I asked if I wouldn't get anything off and he said "Well, it's not going to give them to you for free!" I said thanks anyway and that was that.

I have fairly good luck around here with getting 2 copies to go in a trade. All depends on the managers. Add that to a couple of games from Target that I got for next to nothing on clearance and got 1600 point cards with and I have multiple opportunities for putting together a few bundles...

It's been a while since I really kept track of them, but I believe that they typically do it on a Monday or Tuesday most times.

That's like the BBV stores around here. They carry everything but new games and systems. If I can get a straight answer as to whether or not they can special order me a console, I know what I'm going to be doing tomorrow morning and afternoon.:bouncy:
 
I managed to score 17 copies between 2 Best Buys. I have 2 Best Buys w/ in 15 minutes of each other. I went out around 2:30 EST to the first BB. I printed 4 coupons since my plan was to go back into each store once. If I had the extra money for gas or time, I would have hit up about 7 stores. There's quite a few in the Raleigh area.

I tried getting 6 copies although someone already stated it would only work for 5 copies. I can verify that 6 copies for free didn't work per transaction, but 5 did. I got 2 PS3 copies & 3 360 copies each trip to the register. I then reversed that when I took my bag to the car & came back in. My plan to not look suspicious was to tell them I forgot to grab something else when going back inside the store. Thankfully I didn't have to use it.

The stores were busy as hell & the cashiers didn't care. Through my 4 different transactions, I had 4 different cashiers. All but 3 of them had a surprised look on their faces that was just PRICELESS! I didn't act suspicious or nervous. Nor did I bring any fillers. Well except for the PS3 controllers that I told them I decided not to get. The 4th cashier was like "You do know you got 2 PS3 copies right?" I told him "Yeah, one of them is a gift."

One of the other cashiers said "You're slick!". This was after I told her they were all free today only w/ the coupon. None of the cashiers cared to check to see if the games were on sale or not. Each time they scanned my RZ card, coupon, & then the games. NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER.

The first store I hit up also had this Beatles Rock Band promotion w/ Time Warner Cable set up in the store. There was quite a good sized stage setup in the store right in front as you walk in. There was some guys playing the game, & they were also giving out some Beatles Rock Band swag. I scored 2 XL Beatles Rock Band tshirts for my wife & I.

Overall I'd say a very successful day!

Lets Tap is not on sale. 19.99 is the normal price.

Thanks for the tip on BBV. I traded in two copies and got MW2 for $42.59/free after credit. That'll be easier to flip methinks.

Also, I saw a PS3 bundle advertised at the BBV I went to. For $400 though.

Success for me. My local BB I tried at 8AM. I got 12 total there, at first I was only getting 5 for $0, so I asked the guy to remove the $20 game and he did and kept it behind the counter. Then a family member who came with me to help got 5 more, there were 3 PS3 ones left (including the one behind the register from my first attempt). I then went to a store north of me and was shot down since someone else tried when they opened and they noticed the game was on sale, oh well.

A few hours later I hit up my local one again and got the remaining two PS3 games and drove a bit south and was able to get 12 there. All in all I ended up with 24 copies of the game.

Now I am NOT one for hoarding, but this was a 1 day sale and in my area NO one does this stuff. I've left sale items in countless stores only to find them there a day or two later. I am not going allow myself to miss out on $270 to BB, $90 to Amazon, and $44 to BlockBuster in the hopes someone else picks up this craptastic game when in all likelihood not a SINGLE copy is going to sell till they hit $5 (just like Rock Revolution). If I lived in a more populated area I would leave stuff for others.

After this FTF blockage i'm going to go ahead and guess that coupon is not going to be posted tonight. Or ever. There is going to be another "website" issue but this time the coupon they put up tomorrow or maybe not even till next week will be for $20 off something like Rogue Warrior.
 
This might be the worst thing to happen to us. BB will now look at this fiasco and then reevaluate tomorrow's coupons and most likely not post them or change the values or something.

I was just at my closest BBV about maybe an hour or two ago and they had coupons stuck on some newer games on the pre-played shelves.

Of them I remember there being copies of Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 with the coupon on it.

The coupon was for $10 off 'select used games', so I'd go back to your BBV you got your MW2 from and see if that store is doing the same deal. If so, I'd ask them for the $10 back because they didn't apply the coupon.

If you don't see the coupons taped to various pre-played games, then check on the counter around the registers, since they had a batch of flyers at mine with the $10 off coupon and one for 'rent 2, get one free' on it.

It worked at both northern BB's in Colorado Springs. The First one I went to was by the Chapel Hills Mall, and then I hit the one at Carefree & Powers.

Today was the last day of the deal. The coupon was good from 12/7 to 12/20.
 
Just a quick general question, for my trade-ins to Best Buy and Amazon should I open the copies or send them in sealed? Not sure if sending them in sealed would send up a red flag or something.

I grabbed 3 at the BB on Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas. cashier was surprised I got them for free and asked if she could use the coupon lol. sadly it can't be used by BB employees. This BB had a lot of PS3 copies and maybe 7 or 8 360 copies.

I'm gonna trade one in to TRU and give the other two as gifts.

BTW my friend just tried the BB in Pinole, CA and was denied. a pop up on the register said the coupon was not valid due to the items being on sale.
 
Definitely open them only place I trade sealed games to is Goozex.

Can someone confirm this is the first time that bb had a coupon on a game, that later went on a temp sale causing it to be free?

Was the You're in the Movies or Warhammer deals this way? Or were they regular price like X-blades?
 
Man, I got out of Avatar half an hour too late. Already got 10 copies, but I went back with my brother to get him some and the deal was dead by then. What sucks is they still had a shit ton of copies sitting on the shelf, so I wouldn't have felt bad at all having given eight hours for other people to cash in. Here's to tomorrow if they do put up the coupon. SR2 is $5 and Let's Tap will be free?

IIRC the Xblades one was ended early by the system switching the price back to $29.99. I think it just got switched back to $19.99 AGAIN a day or two later, so was active longer.

Laffo at the guy with 24 copies. Think about all the tables you'll prop up! Alternatively, think how quickly you'll drive the trade in value of the game down when you take all the copies to Blockbuster and Gamestop. :D

Anyway, I got 3 copies at the Best Buy in Watertown, MA. Last ones for either console. Sale rang up fine. I also hit the stores at Fenway (Boston, MA) and Cambridge, MA but the sale had expired at both places. I tried to bullshit a little ("why'd you guys send me a coupon that I can't use?") but they weren't having it. Oh well, 3 free crappy games and Metroid Prime Trilogy for $20 still works out to an awesome day. :)
