Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

Got my hunter to the lighthouse, again it was really easy. Not sure if all the good players have moved on now to the games or our team is really good. However, once again, I get another jewels of osiris. Is the scholar really so hard to get.

Congrats, I would like to experience one of the easy trials runs ppl always talk about. Every time I play we can't get that 5th win or loose 2 straight at 7 wins.

I know I'm not the best at pvp, but i usually get 1-2+ k/d in crucible lately. I think trials is just not for me.

Now, Quodron, I don't get. it is so easy to just nuke him off the bat before the first containment field and yet in two LFG groups I was in they insisted on doing it the hard (or really, boring and long) way despite having Gjallarhorns.

So has everyone on PS4 seen a huge drop-off in people playing the game? On Xbox One I was on at 9:30 Pacific last night and not a single person was playing. That has to be a first for a Saturday night. I just checked my phone now and once again no one is playing. And a big chunk of my friend's list is people I met playing the game who were pretty hardcore about it.

I still want to do Trials, but my crew has quit. I dread trying LFG for that but it might be my only choice. I hate this map but I just want to get the Titan helm if possible.

My PS3 clan had a few folks jump ship to PS4. The hardliners are still kicking it old-skool, but most nights we can barely muster half-strength @ peak hours. We've shifted to mostly goofing off in PVP, since the end-game is pretty much dead for us.

Unrelated: I managed to snag the Void scout rifle from a lighthouse run. Just need a Solar Eye of Sol (handcannon) and I think my collection will be done as far as weapons go. I DID get a non-elemental one from the gold ToO package, which looks fun.

 
Cruised to 6 wins with the mercy still intact and the 2 win buff unused. I think we had three 5-0 matches, one 5-1, and one 5-2 in our first 5 games. It seemed like the universe was finally lining up to give me an easy run to the lighthouse. The next game we lose a close one and then we get beat pretty badly the game after that. We start a new card and dominate in the first 2 games. I just want to get to the lighthouse once. It's starting to get really frustrating to continually get so close and wreck teams with guys wearing the emblem along the way, but never finish a run off. I don't think I'm an amazing PvP player or anything, but I think I am good enough to get there. It just seems like I have incredibly bad luck.

 
It wasn't easy-easy, as in there were a few close ones where we lost. One game, we were losing 0-4 and we made a complete turn around and won the match. The last game came down to a 4-4, and half-way through the round i got my super, activated it and killed two guys and then started running around looking for the last guy. Right as my super is about to end, I hear the last guy activate his golden gun and I spin around and clip the top of his head as he walks up the set of stairs with my golden gun. Got really lucky.

I got the Dry Rot doing the strike playlist the same time my son got his second Gjallahorn. I already have a 365 Found Verdict but I like the dry rot.

 
Tonight I am gonna try my hand at 2 nightfalls with DeonSnares and Matt. I have a feeling that the gjallahorn will be mine this week. 2 VOG HM,  2 Crota NM, HM, 2 nightfalls and the rest of the time I will do POE for the queenbreaker and dragon strikes.

 
All I get is blue stuff from strike playlists. At least we have an easy Nightfall this week. I don't recall last week being hard on my Titan, but those attempts with the Hunter last night sucked.

Variks has gauntlets. So if I get those and then buy and ascend tower vendor chest or helmet, my Warlock will be 34.
 
2 failed attempts at the nightfall this morning, then had to leave for work.  I hate it when there is no burn.  I'll be trying again around 8PM EST if anyone wants to join me.

I googled "Destiny Trials of Osiris Boosting" and found a WoW message board with groups advertising flawless Trials runs.  Man they are not cheap.  I don't think I'm that desperate yet, but a lot of ppl, and I mean a lots, use them on the message board.

Saw a guy "advertising" his services on destinylfg for flawless lighthouse runs. $80. I chuckled and thought "bet bungie is looking at this and thinking about offering a 'lighthouse tourist pass' DLC for $75."

55Allfate pulse, etheric light, apotheosis veil. the all fate ticked me off the most, because the other 2 guys got an Icebreaker and a Hawkmoon.

Probably going to try the 32 and 34 PoE on all 3 characters this week. Because I'm sure as shit not trying the 35 with those mods (Catapult & Angry).

Well fuck. All I've heard is that this week's Nightfall is super easy. Was I lied to, or did you just attempt to solo it? Because you're way better at this game than I am.

LANGDON- I once again need the 32 PoE so I can pass the armor core to my Warlock for those gauntlets. I'd be willing to do both the 32 and 34. I'm doing Nightfall with Tukai & Son tonight around 8 P.M. Central. When were you looking to play?

I got voidfang vestments (worse stats), AC/DC Feedbacks (Better intellect, worse strength), and a legendary fusion rifle (dismantled) from nightfall. Now back to Batman!

 
The 55Allfate is becoming my goto for PVP and PVE, until I get the Hopscotch. Its incredibly stable if you roll any stability perk on it, its like a laser to the head. 3 hit guaranteed kill in PVP.

I was playing with another player for the first time, we weren't on the same page. Died at the Boss because we failed the jump to the hidey hole.

 
Jimmy: Ah, that sucks to get to the end and then die.

Tukai, why 2 VoG hard modes and only 1 Crota hard? Along with the 2 Nightfalls and at least 1 of each raid on hard, I need to do 2 each of the 32 and 34 PoE.
 
The whole Wheel of Triumph got me thinking I should finish the Dark Below activities on my Hunter.

Not like I need it, but it gives me something to do during down times. And it'd be nice to be able to choose a certain strike without piggybacking on a teammates progress.

Guess I should also mention that I got my 4th Gally from a purple engram. Think it was from a crucible package (or maybe vanguard). Who knows how long it was sitting at the postmaster though... I don't open those until my postmaster fills up or until I really need xp to level a weapon/armor.

Tukai just got his second character leveled though. My 3rd (Warlock) will basically be 34 as soon as I complete the 32 PoE for the gauntlets. I got on earlier for a short time and got 2 legendary engrams within a few minutes: a weapon I dismantled and a legendary chest piece.

Once I get the armor core and use it on gauntlets and then ascend the chest armor with my Etheric Light that I already have, everyone will be a 34!

Skolas: Arc Handcannon w/ Vandal burn. Not bad, but it's no Fatebringer. Would've liked a Solar with Shank burn, honestly.

 
Destiny is like a drug. Seriously when i stop playing Destiny to play games like Bloodborne and now Batman Arkham Knight, at first i always get the feeling like i want to get the new game over with asap so i can get back to Destiny. But after a few days i start to get into the new game and enjoy it. I forget about Destiny and want to get nightfalls over with asap to get back to my new fling. I really need to stop playing Destiny so much. I dont know if i want to go back, it will suck me back in!

3 Nightfall and nothing of note. A. Symbiote, Thunderlord, and a legendary special engram. 

Pro-Tip: You can always back out of the nightfall if you are dead (as long as you aren't the party leader) and rejoin back alive. 

Rocket league is really fun, except I suck at it.

Buddy got a No Land Beyond from Deathsinger, and a Universal Remote from Crota.

We ended up going for Flawless first try, as well.

On a related note, I have been tearing PVP up with NLB + Light in the Abyss (fusion rifle from CE). Hadn't used fusion rifles in a loooooong time, and they seem to work as intended against shotgunners. NLB is just stupid fun, and I'm sure the folks on the receiving end of it aren't too happy about those headshots I'm getting.

Nightfallx3 we two manned it except for one dude joined the first one towards the end and it was easy and fast. You can basically run from the vandal room at the start all the way to the boss once you clear the 3 orb dudes thanks to no burn.

Vanguard Machine gun, Alphalubey hunter, Ruin Wings...everything had crap stats so it was broken down.

Yeah I love the sight of the NLB I wish you could get it in a sniper reforge and instead of light of the abyss try using servant of aksor or a good roll on the split shifter pro (go for charge rate and range), that if you are using the NLB or any other exotic as main, if not try using the Plan C it is by far the king if fusion rifles!

Also on a side note, I just recently discovered the shortgaze sight (while using the eye of sol) and I find it way better than the ambush at least at first impression, I don't know what the sniper pros here recommend, because if it is in fact better I might need to roll my spear again... when I have weapon parts... and glimmer.

Now tukai explained how the sharing works between 2 systems/PSN id's, but is there an easy way to share between 2 systems and 3 PSN id's? (i.e. can my boys each use their PSN id's on the 2 systems to play Destiny with each other if my PSN was used to purchase it?)

I swear, BH is a rare as the Praetorian Foil was in VoG (at least for me, that is)

This I do not know how to. It maybe possible for someone to log on a ps4 that is your primary, with their ID and use your content. I have 3 ps4's and 3 users and could give it a try sometime. I just know how to share with 2 people.

 
Dont the game share people just log into each others ps4s and download the game and once its on the console you can play it under the other account? I thought you could play each one under 3 accounts or something. I have no idea how it works with destiny though...

 
Gamesharing is pretty much broken on PS4. You hsve to activate a system as primary when you set up an account. So if I log into your PS4 with my account and set that as primary, I can't go to someone else's PS4 with my account and set it a primary there. There used to be a trick where you could get around this, but as of the last system update Sony has effectively destroyed that method.

If your account is primary on one PS4, you can still use it on another PS4, just don't make it primary. This means that you can download anything from that account onto that system, but you can only play that content using that account.

Personally I'm taking a break from this game for the first time in many months. It is refreshing. I'm not even doing he Nightfall this week if I can help it. It is amazing how much other stuff I'm getting done.

BUT, just wanted to chime on this. Praetorian Foil is definitely the most rare - I still don't have that. But for me the next rarest is not Black Hammer, but Hunger of Crota. I finally got one about a month or two ago but that was my one and only in countless Crota runs. I think I've gotten at least 6 Black Hammers though.

Warlock chest armor ascended. I'm now 1 weapon core and 3 nodes on an exotic helmet away from all characters being level 34. Warlock is 32 now. I can do the weekly again for 9 extra strange coins and even the Nightfall! Yay, more Destiny.

Just goes to show ya how twisted RNGeazy can be...

I've gotten somewhere between 12-15 "Hungers" and the same or more "Words" to my one BH.

I think this is why I don't worry too much about getting 3 Skolas kills in per week. The randomness of the weapon drop is already annoying but then they put in another layer of randomness with the element type and perk getting RNG'd too.

Anyway, player base was pretty small last night, considering it was RESET day. Had about 10 friends on Destiny when I got on around 8:30. And when I logged off around midnight, no one was on :shock:

I give up on PoE chests. I never get anything aside from those 2. 

Anyway I've been playing Destiny (PS4) heavily for about 3 months now and have 3 lvl 34 characters. I'm always looking for new friends that like to do Raids 3x each week. I'm pretty experienced in everything. I'm also pretty good at PvP and had gone flawless each week on at least 1 of my character. PSN: luan87us

best part about doing raids while carrying a full load of primaries are the sweet goodies the postmaster is holding for you when you finish.

Monte freakin' Carlo. (one of the only 2 exotics I don't have)

 
The Vault of Glass hard mode is like a horcrux to me. That shit eats at the very essence of my soul and makes me feel very negative and not like myself or the game. Very frustrating and draining.

At least the rewards were nice: Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Praetoria. Foil, Sparrow, laughing at Tukai.
 
I was almost late for work today at 7am. We started the raid at 8pm CST and it wasn't until 20 minutes ago Matt finally figured out how to get to the Gorgon's chest......

 
Too bad we had to wait an hour for Tukai to make the jump across the platforms, even with a Titan. The chest was because I was left behind and everything was too dark to see. You just suck at jumping. :p

The highlight was when DeonSnares says "Dad stop trying to kill me" and I responded, "If I wanted to kill you for real, you would have been aborted."
