Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

So my hunter decided to lend my titan the RNGeezus crown this afternoon:

Pulled the Dead Orbit ship "The Fermi Solution" from a faction package!

Now I'm just missing the 3rd DO shader (i have Revenant & Bittersteel), and once that drops I can finally move back to New Monarchy or FWC.

 
Finally on the 5th day of strikes i got the Dry Rot shotgun. I rerolled it to get Aggressive Balistics, Full Auto, Rifled Barrel for more range, and Army of One. So a pretty good roll. :) Now all i need is those exotic hunter boots.

Nightfalls x 3 = Heart of the praxic fire, those beetle bug gauntlets for hunter, and etheric light. Praxic was worse stats, beetle bug was +5, and i have 33 etheric light now.

I have streamed I think twice in the last week. I don't have a ton of time to throw up more streams with work and helping my friends. I want to get streams up more often and try to build a small channel but that may be awhile. I'm also going to be on vacation for a road trip this weekend and next so I may not stream. I will however still try to play if I can. I figure trials will be my best bet at getting viewers/followers. I try to help people get flawless but I'll never "guarantee" it like others do because they look silly when they fail 1 out of 5 times lol. Everyone loses from time to time whether it be because of bad connection or great players on the other team.

Did one more run of Trials last night, using my lock and finished 8-1. 

Seemed like all the try-hards were on for the first half of the run.  Then after flawless gets spoiled, we get team after team of noobs... smh.

At least I can't say lag spoiled the run, we were just beat.

Also cheesed the IB reset with my hunter and grabbed the EL's and one hand cannon.  Passed on the helmet, chest and sniper.  The armors had worse stats than the old IB armors and don't see a good reason to get more spears (aside from getting dif elements)

Not sure how much IB I'll do this time.  There's really nothing I want out of it.  And early reports say the lag is the worst it's been yet.

Jeez, this is way too soon for Iron Banana again.  Have to stay away.  Not going to grind for armor and weapons I don't need or have room for...

I feel they are bringing this mode around WAY to often. Not really a special mode when the weapons/armor are the same as they always have been. No real incentive to deal with that lag to get crap rewards.

Yea I should do that!

In all honesty I just love the PVP. Its fun. And I welcome weapon changes. Nothings going to make me hate the PVP. If I could stream and talk to people and help people out then even better! :p

After some brutally bullshit IB matches, I took a break and came back to find my controller had almost completely shorted out.

Apparently my idea to cool off for a half hour turned into MOLTEN HOT RAGE.

After spending nearly 2 hours trying to fix it, this seems like a lost cause. Just....wow.

Insult to fucking injury right here.

I like to watch you work, rekt golden guns with your sun singer.

I've been watching a lot more streams lately, chatting and learning form good PVP players makes the game less boring. Was lucky to have a streamer help me to the lighthouse last week, that wasn't bad either.

 
So my kids and I were joking to my wife that once any of us got a Gjally she would have to make a Gjally shaped cake in celebration.

Congratulations. In which mode did you get it?

Though it's not nearly as big a deal, I finally got my Vex Mythoclast. Should I use a shard to ascend that now?

Yeah its a pretty good gun, but i only use it really in Trials of Osiris or when doing the kill 2 with fusion rifle bounty. Otherwise it seems to run out of ammo quickly in regular pve levels.

Its pretty much the best auto rifle in the game right now, until they buff auto rifles later this year. Wear something that give you more fusion rifle ammunition if you want to use it in PVE.

 
With all the talk about the hopscotch and dry rot I decided to join in on the hunt and run some dragon strikes. I don't know how you guys do it. Even running with friends I can only handle a few strikes at a time before I lose interest and do something else.
 
I got a purple engram that became garbage, a garbage vanguard scout, and like my 8th truth from nightfalls on tuesday. Cleared out my warlocks bounties to prepare for IB. I would be down for VOG or Crota if I'm on, but my evenings are kind of up in the air and I usually get on later than it seems like you guys like to play.

You need to get more interesting friends :) I have a twitch stream going or watch netflix when I'm doing strikes.

 
Awesome!! I love hearing that you guys got those long awaited weapons to drop! That feeling of FINALLY receiving those always out of reach and seemingly impossible to obtain weapons or armor pieces is so very very satisfying. Congrats guys!

Re: Hopscotch Pilgrim. It's absolutely and completely worth enduring the Dragon Strike grinding to get this pulse rifle. In PvP it's fantastic with the right rolls and a blast to use in both Crucible and IB. I'm now actually looking forward to some IB this week.

So, I finally tackled and completed a full Crota NM Raid solo run yesterday. It felt kind of rewarding and it helped immensely to use my new controller with a good R2 trigger button for the sword strikes. It didn't take too long and I ended up getting Song of Ir Yut which was a new drop for me. Then I started my solo Crota HM run and stopped at the Deathsinger checkpoint since I was a little tired, but I did get an Oversoul Edict to finally drop from the Abyss. So all-in-all not a bad couple of drops during the solo experiment.

3 nightfalls and the only notable drop was Plan C.  The rest got sharded.

Got into IB and man, the lag is bad.  Think I only had 4-5 quality matches.  Anyway still managed to hit rank 2.

I might skip IB tonight to focus on Queen bountys or Black Hammer runs

It was our 3rd Crota Normal run (after our 3 VoG Hard runs). My Heavy weapons were full so I didn't even know it had happened. I think it was NJMane who said "holy shit, langdon got a gjally. congrats man." I didn't really believe it until I went to the postmaster. Over all I have been completely drowning in guns and new gun drops from these past few weeks of crota and Vog.

Nice loot! I just came back to destiny about a month ago, got bones of eao from the nightfall, hit 34 and started some IB. Any tips for trials? I plan to tackle so,e this weekend. Also feel free to add me, psn is devilsarm, I got a 34 hunter, 29 lock and 29 titan

In all seriousness, these are my tips for Trials. Keep in mind these are my tips to get to the LIGHTHOUSE, not just the handful of wins needed for the armor:

1.) Have a fire-team you trust and easily coordinate/communicate with. If one or more of your group keeps chatting about how sick that kill he just got was, instead of calling out enemy locations or when green ammo is up, you're gonna have a bad time.

2.)Bring your best gear.

3.)Your best gear MUST be leveled up to maximum. Go for Longer Nade throws, faster special reload. +AMMO PERK DO NOT STACK, but +Heavy ammo DOES give you a bonus rocket. Use it.

4.)A full loadout of Strength gear, despite being light-level 42, is not recommended. Strength is still (arguably) the weakest stat for PVP. Go Int+Disc if possible.

5.)Thorn. High-Impact sniper w/ Final round. Rocket Launcher w/ Grenades+horseshoes. Shotgun w/ Shot-Package, LITC/Final Round, Full-Auto. Don't couple Field Scout w/ Final Round. Alternatives: Red Death, Messenger (pulse rifle w/ third eye), Last Word. YOU CAN SWAP HEAVY WEAPONS DURING THE HEAVY AMMO ROUND. Do this BEFORE your team picks up their ammo, for maximum cheese.

6.)Prioritize ARMOR + AGILITY when speccing. Hiding until your HP regens usually just makes you a sitting duck, so Recovery becomes less useful here. Agility mitigates this by allowing you to get the fuck outta Dodge and re-group.

7.)Git Gud.

Thanks for the tips, I have a 365 thorn and I'll be maxing a rocket launcher and shotgun this week. My brother, my bestfriend, and I will be tackling trials weekend. I want to go 9-0, that's my goal even if it's not this weekend that's what I'm pushing for

Best of luck. If you aren't already familiar with the map layouts, I suggest playing Elimination if it's up as a primer, or just for general practice play Skirmish/Salvage. This is the map list for Trials, as it was last week:

Widow's Court

Thieves Den

Black Shield

The Cauldron

Pantheon

Burning Shrine

There are ins-and-outs for those maps, and common chokepoints worth learning. The "Upper" and "Lower" heavy being common ones, alternatively calling out which Control capture point they're near. ALSO, make sure to read up about where the "sudden death" capture zone is on each map. If the timer runs out, the team that captures that point first wins the round regardless of how many people are alive.

I keep getting Anteater > Anteater > Weasel, the last one always kicking me back to the title screen. I was weasel'd so hard earlier it made my PS3 forget how to connect to my wifi for an hour.

Figured I'd try watching Netflix, since I don't need to be logged into PSN for that, just to troubleshoot. Got an error code first try, second try Netflix says it needs an update. Of course, this will be downloaded through PSN.

384 minutes for the 23mb update.

FFS Sony, get your shit together.

Great tips! I may add some other things, two fast revive armors is enough, coordinate well with your team mates which armor are each of you going to use so you can get the most proffit out of it, coordinate the nades... Believe me this is a wrecking ball if done right and last and most important, don't play hero two or three man will be (most of the times) stronger than one.
