Even though this season has been different it's still got me hooked. I believe it's still one of the best shows on TV bar none.
I thought she shot Deb because she needed a story to save her job. Never thought for a moment she was Arthur's daughter! Wow great plot twist! I was very surprised that Dexter showed the dark passenger
the only people who ever see him are taped to a table. "What are you thankful for Kyle?
Yams"
Even though I always think the show is going to get stale all the early episodes are always solid and then by the last 3 or 4 episodes of a season I am freaking out counting down the days til the next episode.
Yeah, the show has a good pacing. Starts off strong, does a lot of slow plot building and/or setup to make twists really hit home, then has like 4 final episodes that are crazy. Usually having the climax in the second to last episode and the final episode sets up the next season's events...basically a one hour cliffhanger scene.
Other than The Wire, this is one of the most finely crafted TV shows ever made.
I also don't understand why they all jumped to defend Arthur when "Kyle" had the knife. You know Arthur's just going to beat the shit out of all of them anyways.
Because even though they hate Arthur at times, he is still their father/husband and that is how abusive relationships happen. And "Kyle" is still considered a stranger to them and you have a natural tendency to fear that. They are also so used to it, that the wife considers it normal.
And I also agree that this season is getting insanely good.
I just saw an article that some kid said he killed his little brother because he learned how to choke someone after watching Dexter. I wish the News would stop reporting that kind of stuff.
Ugh, why do parents let their young kids watch Dexter? Jeesh... yes son, that old man did just kill that naked woman and then bathed in her blood. Good night!

To be fair he wasn't a "young kid" he is 17 and senior in high school I believe.
Dexter is on a paid channel. So Showtime will never get in any trouble for it. The only people that would be hung out ot dry would be Netflix for streaming seasons with no real parental control system in place. But yeah, the one people that won't get slapped on the wrist: the ignorant parents. They always get a free pass.

Netflix needs a credit card to join and most cc's you have to be 18.
I am just sick of this Lionel Tate bs where people blame tv, music and Wrasslin. We have had humans killing humans for thousands of years before TV, music, videogames and wrasslin and we are going to have it until the end of time. Some people are just crazy and have crappy parents. Some are just crazy and have good parents. The only person that you can control is yourself.
Great ending for last night as Trinity and Dexter meet face to face inside Miami Police Dept.
Yea, I agree... I almost looked, but I quickly turned it off.
Friggen crazy episode. I'm going to be sad when it ends and then next season is the last...
why the did Dexter put all his stuff into a shipping container like that? Finding all those garbage bags at the bottom of the ocean containing his victims was a fluke, but someone stumbling on that shipping container is really starting to look like Dexter's eventual downfall.
^ The thing that bugs me the most:

Wasn't so much a fluke of them finding Dexter's killings since Doakes had been on his ass since Day 1.
Wouldn't be surprised if Quinn is his downfall, Doake's was more keen and on to Dexter's shit than Quinn is, but Quinn's more liked.
I didn't realize how good Lithgow was this season, then I realized that he went from making me smile when ever I saw him to giving me the creeps in 11 episodes...this picture used to be cure and sweet....
I don't know if anyone else knows this, but Dexter is married to Deb in real life. Kind of weird being married to your sister even if its TV.
God... I didn't and... I can't help but be horrified since I can't separate the actors to the real people.
so wait season 5 of dexter will be the last season? why?!!!??!?!??!?!?!!????!?!!!??!
Yeah, sucks.
Those must be some awesome Visitor passes.
lol, uh. ha. Good thing it wouldn't happen IRL.

I think it's that even if they did find the bags (which I'm assuming they didn't) they couldn't pin it on Dexter although, the fact that they go missing at some point and pile up would be something you couldn't get away from for sure.
As for Doake's and Quinn... Doakes has been missed definitely. Quinn, he's just a douche. He's not going to be doing anything to affect anyone.
I hope he just goes away or something now that the skank reporter is gone.
People are dumb enough to read through a thread about a popular TV show right after a new episode airs, and expect there *not* to be any spoilers? You bring that on yourself.
I would just like to say, I just started watching this show today and it is f*cking awesome. I just watched the whole 1st season. That is all.
Glad to hear. I love when people actually watch Dexter, because its so hard to sell it to most people because the basic premise sounds like a 5.99 novel my step mom would read. "Ok its about a blood splatter analysis serial killer who kills serial killers! And its not lame!"
I think this show and your description is a perfect example of why I'd rather see a show like this than read it. I don't think you can beat Lithgow's expressions and how he captures being so fing scary in a book.
Yeah the basic concept sounds like a lame "Psychological Thriller" novel. I have never read any of the actual Dexter books so I don't know how good they are.

I recommend Darkly Dreaming Dexter it's the first novel and pretty much follows the first season but has it's twists(and extras that a novel can provide). I have not read the other two cause I didn't want any spoilers. However, it turns out the Seasons 2 and 3 don't follow the show just have nods to the source material.
Four books so far: Darkly Dreaming Dexter
Dearly Devoted Dexter
Dexter in the Dark
Dexter by Design
The books tell a deeper and more intricate tale where we get a much better sense of Dexter and the Dark Passenger, while the series takes us on a visual ride through the dark world of Dexter Morgan, allowing us to process and organize the language and integrate using the visuals into a cohesive portrayal.

As much as I like Smits, his performance or the direction he went in was garbage. I don't miss those episodes at all. Lithgow should be a no brainer, anything else is an Epic Fail.
