Dexter Season 4 FINALE 9/27 THIS SUNDAY 9 PM EST!

Thanks to netflix having the first 2 seasons up to steam, I'm hooked on this now...... I just started on season 4 and I'm already mad season 5 isn't out yet lol.
Almost done with Season 2. Deb is really god damn annoying.
You think she is more annoying than Rita?
You think she is more annoying than Rita?
Rita is beyond sexy and used to get naked several times a season. It sucks that Dexter and Deb are married in real life because ugly Deb doesn't want her husband doing sex scenes with a much more beautiful woman.
Edited OP to reflect the season is almost over.

And just so people know, the retarded asshole I am referring to is wildpac:

And your short bus justification is bullshit.

USE SPOILER TAGS fuckSTICK!
Go cry me a river you big baby. It's not my fault you were dumb enough to go on a tv thread discussion the day after the episode and thought that you wouldn't see discussion about the previous nights episode. It's not like I was posting spoilers when the west coast feed hasn't happened yet.
Here's the thing skidmark, you didn't spoil it for me.

It's not about me, it's about consideration for others asshole.
You must be a real internet tough guy to be calling others names online. People who check a TV Show/Movie thread the day after should expect spoilers. Get over yourself.

Really though, how are they going to do another season? I'm sure Deb, the grandparents, etc could take care of the kids for a while, but there's no way Dexter is going to be able to deal with the "Dark passenger" without the staple that kept his life together.

i think they are going to do a time jump, making the next season start like 10 years later. make the kids older so easier to explain why they are not around as much. also giving dexter time to train his son

I really don't think they're going to make Harrison into a killer. If they did, it would be WAY down the line in some sort of flashforward. Nor do I think Dexter would ever want him to be. I doubt they're going to do a big time jump (maybe a year at most), I think they'll need to deal with the aftermath of this and how it affects Dexter in the short term.

I'm hoping Dexter goes ape-shit next season and starts killing much more often as a way to cope with Rita's death. This show is at its best when Dexter is on the hunt. Having a large overhanging issue like Trinity is fine, but they need to let Dexter loose more often. Here's hoping that happens next season.

Okay, fuck spoilers, let's do this! Er...this finale was too eventful, I guess I'll use the tags.

Next season is going to be nuts. Does Dexter even tell anyone Rita was killed? Seems like he might dump her body. Masuka's gossip about her having an affair and Quinn's suspicion of why Dexter is "unfaithful" could be Dexter's perfect alibi. He just dumps her and acts as if she flew the coop. Because he has enough on his plate. All it's going to take is for Trinity's family to say they saw "Kyle Butler" after the police department found one Kyle Butler dead already. Deb's discovery seems to have hit a dead end. Dex lucked out and it should end right there. She isn't putting the pieces together like Dexter thought she would if she found out he was related to the Ice Truck Killer.

I'm not sure he would do that to his kids, make them think their mom left them. I think he'll do what you'd expect him to do, play dumb and act the victim. I also have a feeling that we won't see Trinity's family anymore, even though that does seem like a loose end.

Are you 80? This is 2009. I would say a good 50% of people don't watch TV shows the night of the episode....., on demand tv, downloads, itunes, dvr, streaming, season DVD releases, re-runs, hell even good ole recordable vhs.

By your logic I shouldn't be able to read about and discuss anything that I have not seen, read, or played after the day it comes out.

Zomgz!

poor Harrisonz.

They need to ditch teh kidz and leave them with g-parents or something and let dexter b dexter.

Lithgow should win tons of awards for his work on this season. I always thought he was a great actor even though 3rd Rock was meh for me.
He use to get his photos developed at a photo store I worked at. lol

"Why hello Dexter Morgan" muahahahua.

As soon as the cellphone rang I was like...Wow.

I don't know what's worse for Dexter. Losing Rita or Harrison having to experience that trauma. Pretty fucked up. Next season though Trinity won't have gone away quietly. I think Dexter left too many loose ends that could easily go back to him. Kyle Butler, Trinity's family, the arrest near the bank, the fake clues, and now Rita's murder Trinity style. Although I don't think Trinity killed her. Maybe it was the neighbor. Wow just fucked up.

So glad they decided to put a HUGE wrench into the usual "happily ever after" ending formula. I never saw it coming though I agree if it wasn't Trinity then it had to be the neighbor. Fifth season = irrefutable epicness. Between those loose ends, the murder and Debra uncovering the truth about her father's affair it is only a matter of time before she opens her eyes to who Dex really is and all hell is likely to break loose. I know I know... everyone says that about Deb every season but this time it is actually plausible! After all... did anyone actually CALL Dex to the scene? I don't recall anyone mentioning it but I could have missed something. Regardless though how absolutely priceless was her reaction? Carpenter stepped her game ever since the second season and her talent as an actress IMO is finally starting to bubble to the surface. I couldn't stand the character after the first season but now? It wouldn't be the same without her.

I'm so glad the show has redeemed itself from the lackluster rushed third. My only regret is the BS Doakes/Dex rivalry they seem hell bent on reliving through Quinn. All season it felt tagged on as did Angel/Laguerta. I'm sorry but he just can't hack it in that department as I felt Erik King's performance simply set the bar that high and I still miss him. He was the perfect heel. It just isn't the same so I hold hope they'll resolve that train wreck next season.

fuck TRINITY.

Was anybody else really pissed after that ending? I don't know...I liked the whole family dynamic for Dexter, and killing off Rita just throws that all down the drain.

I mean, I can understand the whole parallelism the writers are trying to establish with Dexter and his son, and how Dexter can never have a completely normal life due to his darkness, but DAMN, you didn't have to go and kill off his wife.

I thought this season was really good too, as good as the first season if not better.

For a show that has been very good up to this point, I still have to have faith in the writers though. Here's to hoping that this change in direction won't ruin the series for me.

DAMN.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

They killed off Rita!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manthing, thats for you buddy. Thats what you get for crying on an internet message board. Episode aired over 14 hours ago.

There are people on this thread that are watching older seasons, and enjoy discussing it and asking questions...so be quiet. And also as I explained other people watch episodes at other times by using different means than when it first airs.

I am going to find a game or movie that you want to play or see and ruin it for you after going to the midnight release and spoiling it for you.

Don't you get that when a show airs doesn't mean anything in terms of how many people have seen it. You can tell by how people talk about shows now saying things like "the new episode is out".

Of course I don't know why I am arguing with you since your ego is so big that you can't just simply put spoiler tags around what you say, and at least out of courtesy even if you don't understand our point...now your going out of your way to spoil things for people and cause trouble.

You have been reported my friend.

Eagles beat the Giants last night. Oopppps, I am sorry for spoiling that for you. I didn't know if you had a chance to watch it or not.
You have been reported my friend.
He'll be taking a week off from posting, as it's obvious he's doing nothing but trolling it up in here.

Please let me or any of the other mods know if this issue happens again.

Thank you. This is my first report, and I must say that I am impressed with the speed of taking care of this.

In response I say.....you are right and this

I like everyone else was really shocked with the ending. However, I knew at some point Trinity would do something directly to Dexter's friends or family. The pattern of his victims pretty much told me it would be either Cody, Deb, or Rita however, I didn't see it being Rita in the tub since it goes against Trinity's pattern(boy, young woman in tub, mother jumping off a building, and father beaten to death). Deb in the tub fit his m/o or Rita forced to jump off a building. I understand why Trinity did it but I never saw it coming cause it against his pattern. When he showed up at Deb's apt thinking it was Dex's I figured he was going to wait for Deb to come home and kill her in the tub.

Dexter was fated to travel this nightmarish path. that a simple phone call (don't answer it, harry said) from his wife would lead to his nicking that angry guy's car and thus ruining his clean kill of trinity, which led to Rita's death. So by trying to be a good husband and pick up the phone while trailing trinity, he unwittingly caused her death. Of course, he also missed killing trinity by holding on to his hand on the building and he also kept trinity alive by doing the whole cat and mouse thing and even protected him somewhat by trying to pin his grisly murders on someone else. All because of his hubris, pride, and his belief that he controlled the situation and his own fate. Well, it's a shame. what really sealed the deal about fate was seeing his baby bathed in blood.

Dex didn't say he was called to the scene he just heard about it since once Deb cracked the case the news spread like wild fire.

My question is when did Trinity kill Rita was it after he got his car from the shop or prior to it?

I honestly thought I was dreaming! So Could Dexter have been dreaming?

My impression was that Dexter was in the trunk of the car. It certainly looked to me like thats where he came from (and it would make sense). So in that case, Arthur killed Rita while Dex was going to the shop to hide in the car, or sometime around then.

That seems mostly plausible.

wow at last night finale. Brought back memories of another particular season finale for another TV show
24 Season 1
Why does Season 5 have to be such a long wait...............

 at that idiot.

The funniest thing about it is I watched the episode @ 6AM EST, so even if I was in the thread when I assume he posted his stupidity, he wouldn't have even spoiled it for me.

fucking moron.

Like I said previously, it's not about me and my 'delicate sensibilities'(even though I've seen almost every episode this season within 12 hours of airing), it's about being polite to others.

Good riddance wildpac!

So how does Trinity go from not knowing from where Dexter lives to being able to intercept a taxi, and then taking rita and a crying baby back to his house without anyone noticing?

He didn't intercept the taxi Rita called Dexter to tell him see left her ID at home.
If you notice when Trinity is looking on the website its zoomed in. It could be a listing of Dexter's history of addresses. He goes to Deb's the night before (the first address listed), and then in the early afternoon goes to the next listed address which is his current address. Waits for Dexter to come home Rita comes home instead, and or notices Dexter has a wife and waits for her (not knowing of course that she shouldn't have been home)

I think you're reading it wrong. First of all, Trinity was upset when he first saw it was "Debra Morgan". But it seemed obvious to me that while Trinity was there, he figured out who she was. We didn't see this because it would have lessened the surprise at the end. After all, he had to know somehow to put Harrison in the blood like Dexter had been. How did he find this out? Debra's computer, where she had just learned about Dexter's origins earlier in the episode. The information he got from Deb's apartment is what brought him to Dexter's house and Rita.

I was thinking that was a viable option. But that seemed a bit to contrived to me.
