Diablo III / Diablo II Battle.net Thread

I only have a Demon Hunter in her mid 30s (Likely not quite that high but it soon will be, the bonus XP has been nice and I just found a legendary ring that gives even more XP!) but I've really been enjoying it and I'm glad I got around to playing it after picking it up on "the cheap" ($25) during Black Friday. 

I plan on getting the Reaper of Souls expansion Day 1...  Just the base game...  The collector's edition really doesn't do it for me. 

Anyhow, INMATE#1902 if anyone wants to add me. :D

 
Just ordered RoS with my BNet balance courtesy of the RMAH.

I'll just wait for the physical CE to drop low, or just grab the artbook by itself on eBay or something.

 
In case anyone is curious I just finished Act II and thought you all might be curious in some stats...

I had already started the game before the loot patch dropped.  I had killed the Skeleton King, but I don't think I was much father than that.

Anyhow, before loot patch I had gotten two rares...  both off of the Skeleton King and the bulk of what I found wasn't even magic.  No legendary items.

After the loot patch I have gotten 10 legendary items, and god knows how many rares...  I occasional see non magic stuff but it seems rare. (Legendary items: 5 rings, two armors, 2 amulets, one quiver)

Also the exp bonus is insane...  I was level 18 before the loot patch...  I'm now lvl 40.  (Granted, some of that is me doing my best (without gimping myself) to make sure I have exp generating items equipped so I can take advantage of it.

 
Since patch 2.0, I've been play a lot. I've nearly leveled my wizard up to 100 paragon. I also have a level 60 barbarian and demon hunter. I'd like to work up a monk and witch doctor before RoS hits, but Titanfall has been taking up a lot of my evenings. 

I just sent in my request to join the guild. Look forward to joining up with some of you!

What kind of stuff were you selling Pooky? I've tried doing some farming on Normal to get items for the RMAH, but so far I've only been able to sell a random shield for $4.

 
Yeah, definitely not complaining, just curious what types of stuff he was selling. That shield is the only thing I've sold all week.

The stuff i was selling that I was actually finding was recipes and diamonds, with a ring here and there for like .25. Other than that, I was selling old equip that got replaced by drops pretty much (and my used gems, since they will be useless soon with higher drops).

I had borked items for some reason. I tried selling radiant topaz's on the RMAH, and 3 times they sold and transaction failed (failed to deliver escrowed item). No idea why. I just sold them on the AH, and then sold that gold on the RMAH.

Holy crap, you guys weren't kidding! First 3 things I killed all dropped gear that was better than I had equipped. What do we get this for, another week?

Loot patch is suppose to be permanent... XP is not.

I'll add you soon. I need to do a few things before I make it online for any gaming tonight.

Out of curiosity... Has anyone seen any good deals on the expansion? I've looked but it looks like its MSRP (or higher, even checked on eBay was was worth a chuckle and not much else.)

 
My Wizard literally went from 0 to 45 in the matter of like 20 hours of playing.

This xp boost is insane. Hoping I can get to 60 before the xp boost ends. Also holy crap Wizards are fun.

The only "deal" I've seen is $5 GC on Newegg ($1 shipping). If I pre-order it I care about the pre-order wings (similar to the D3 CE wings)... I'm not sure if I trust Newegg to get it to me in time. (I pay tax on newegg, not sure on Blizz Store).

I'm curious how does the pre-order loot work for physical copies? I remember Blizzard said you must redeem your game key within 6 days to get it. Wouldn't that mean everyone who buys a physical copy and redeems it within the first week get the pre=order bonus?

Purchasing a digital edition via Blizzard's website seems to be the best way to ensure that you receive the pre-order goodies. I certainly wouldn't trust NewEgg with a pre-order of a physical copy as they've been known to randomly cancel such pre-orders in the past. (and they often do it quite late which is important here since the window to register for the goodies is relatively short)

edit: My purchase via Blizzard's store had tax. (Texas)

Yep, from everything I've read it's more like bonuses on digital pre-order or buying and redeeming the physical version within the 6-day launch window.

Blizz store checkout is funny. They have a shipping facility in Fresno, CA (I'm in CA). But they don't seem to be taxing digital as far as I can tell. (I'm not quite sure what CA laws are on this. I do know I never paid sales tax on my WoW sub. I also don't get charged sales tax on Amazon Digital purchases.)

I'm leaning towards getting the digital version since I want to play at midnight, but on launch day the servers were all messed up so I might just buy it at Best Buy since I'll be picking up Titanfall as well. But then again everyone hates D3 now so maybe the servers will be okay haha.

Yeah, I'm not trusting of newegg, and $5 GC and $1 shipping isn't exactly a screaming deal.

However, there's also the option of simply popping into your local GameStop/Frys (or whatever) and snagging a retail copy.

Based on every WoW expansion and D3 launch, I'm expecting launch day to be a mess... I'd be happy to be wrong... and current lower D3 popularity should lead to a smoother expansion launch, but I wouldn't bet on it myself. (I'm loving the 2.0 patch)

It stupid, I know it is, but i already have a physical copy of DIII so I feel included to get one for the expansion. I suspect I'll try Wal-Mart at midnight. (My local Wal-Mart had a sign promoting a midnight launch for the game... Granted, its a generic sign likely at all Wal-Marts.)

Well, its not much... and you have to go to Gamestop but they have a 15% off code that I just used on Reaper of Souls.   It valid on store pick up.

Things of Note:  Make sure you click apply next to the code box...  It won't pick up on it otherwise.  (Also make sure you select the store or they'll ship it to your house.)

Thanks. I'm definitely considering that. GameStop is convenient for me (and in store-pickup I trust). That's much better than the Newegg deal (and I don't trust time to deliver on time).

I should know better, but it's getting harder for me to resist the urge to play this stupid game again. I am looking to set up a team for a run through. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I am still not picking up that expansion, i know better now.

Advance warning- there's some pretty sizeable updates to install before you can actually play (10gig+ I think?). So if you're even considering playing it, I'd start the reinstall process early.

Also of note, they've unified their games under the Battle.Net launcher now which is kinda cool. The new card game, Hearthstone, is free and fun.

Man, everyone keeps telling me that... but I didn't really enjoy it. They stripped too much MtG out of it. I feel its an MtG aimed at casuals. Presentations is pretty much blizzard stellar, minus some voice work I could do without.

Anyhow, the Auction House is now dead. I got a Legendary Plan early in the night (The Wedge) and got it listed and sold for nearly 400K.... and about an hour ago I found another Legendary Plan (Bullseye), which matches my character, but seems to lack some serious punch compared to what I already have so I was going to sell it too... but the AH was gone.

And now the servers are offline but it was awesome to have so much time with Diablo III on my weekend. :D

I found another legendary. Shoulder pads. First of those. Which I think makes 13 now in one play through.

my battle.net balance, courtesy of the auction house, is just under $36. i still have 10 items listed at $2 a pop, so i guess anything can happen in the next 19hrs or so (when my auctions expire).

I was in there... I don't think you can even access auctions to buy... Just too reclaim your items.
