Diablo III / Diablo II Battle.net Thread
you figure, doing act 1 is pretty standard at this point...some face rolling it with one hand. a lot of crap gear that doesnt work for act 2 + has MF on it, you get enough of that and you're getting legendaries every other run. what you decide to do w/that is up to you but selling them can certainly get you some nice pools of gp which you can do whatever you want with. while some legendaries aren't very good for inferno, some of them are amazing in the right kit.
How much MF are you rocking that you're getting legendaries "every other run" of Act I? I've had exactly four drop in the over 250 hours I have logged on my wizard. Act I farming is basically all I've been doing for probably the last 50 hours or so of that.

naturally it's all in the rolls, but my friend is 205% MF w/5 stacks and I'm 185%? idk, i know im under 200% atm, but I can get it higher knowing that act 1 is much easier. we've just been lucky in the past few days. Between us, we've found 7 legendaries/set items in in act 1.

- pus spiter
- inna's glory
- wanderlust
- danetta's rage
- zunimassa's attunement
- visage of guyia
- angel hair braid

all but three of these have dropped off trash, chests, and breakables. this isn't meant to sound like bragging, majority of these drops are crap, even the rolls on the zuinmassa's is kinda crappy...but it's just proof through my experience MF is working to a degree in improving the quality or drops. Act 2 farming is really only yielding MF items and gp through vendor sales currently. some ppl attest with 250+ they find legendaries every other run in act 3...there's videos showing it.

I'm currently face rolling Act 2 w/the WD...im so going back to Act 1 w/the DH and trying to get some set items before patch.
revisited the WD again after finding a few AR pieces to kit her out, wow...with a #$%'in difference 600 AR makes from 300 AR.

I've been using wall of zombies/pile on and getting close to 300k crits...and I'm far from geared. 765% dmg on a crit is just silly...now all i need is more CD, a better wpn, and able to always hit w/the pile on.

why is everyone saying they have to buy everything from the AH to progress in the game or farm successfully? MF does wonders for act 1 and act 2 farming, maybe you don't want to put in the hours to farm but it sure hell beats giving some random 20 million for a single item. the only large purchase i've made on the AH is the helm of command, because that doesn't drop...and I paid well under the crafting cost for it. everything else im using has been drops and/or eq shares w/friends.
80% of my gear is from the ah. If I only relied on finding my own gear, I would still be stuck in act 1.

fuck that. If I relied strictly on gear that had dropped for me, I doubt I would've made it out of Act One or Two of Hell. Seriously got nothing but shit gear. Probably 99% of the shit I had equipped was from the AH. I can only recall one item (a ring) that I found that I actually wore.
Path of Exile felt like a really poor attempt at the genre to me. The skill tree really annoyed me because it's gigantic just to be gigantic.

Like most, I haven't played in awhile. I made my final cash out a few weeks ago, then reformatted last week and haven't even had the game installed. Nothing to do after Inferno Diablo but farm, and Blizzard just wants to find ways to punish people who have fun farming.

Combine that with the fact that Torchlight 2, Borderlands 2, and Tony Hawk HD are coming out soon, on top of the fact that I've been ESEA'ing CS:GO a lot recently, and I really feel there is zero reason for me to go back.
They recently did a passive tree revamp in PoE if that was all that was keeping you from enjoying it. The map system they introduced with the patch was also very cool.
I may be in the minority here but I'm a WD in Act I inferno and I enjoy the game....
That's because your only in Act 1. The people who are pissed and hate this game are the ones who have been farming inferno ever since the beginning of june. Most people who make it Inferno are always excited to do Act 1. Then after that, you'll realize that blizzard f'd everything up and the only thing left to do is farm 24/7 and spend tons of time in the AH

okay...rocking 276% MF + 34% MF on the templar/follower for the added bonus on shield (not sure what the equation is for that but it's a fraction) w/5 stacks.

3 attempts, 3 legenaries. 2 in one run, 1 in another...and one completely dry (though I still got some sellables and improved 1 piece to my MF kit). I wasn't a believer in MF, but that's enough proof for me to continue fishing like this.

up to 304% MF, found this the other night (1 first of the day in act 2 with my 0% MF WD...go figure, though the well has been dry the last 3 runs...in terms of anything legendary, but the gp from vendor trash has increased)

i got a good roll too, 230+ int and 4.9% knock back.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/strongarm-bracers
my wizard is rockin it right now w/magic wpn/force wpn. I'm hoping the 2% is stacking.

found my first set item today. though to myself "finally I can make a sale on RMAH".... then I identified it lol. it is slightly better than what i was wearing so I'll use it for a bit... not worth any cash however :(

there are ppl willing to buy set items for the sake of collecting them as well as doing the achievement. I found the gloves a while ago, they are better stat'd for a monk or dh due to the high dex/low str though...i suppose you could make this into a decent MF helmet and that is usually worth something on the AH.

I was hoping that it being a set piece still might be good enough for a few dollars. But when looking at the RMAH there was an entire page of these (comparable stats, same set item) listed for under $2 that weren't selling. Oh well, hopefully I'll get something soon :)

I actually got 17m for my 800 loh axe =D people in bnet forums were just offering 5-7m tops, glad I put it up on the AH. The only thing I do in this game is go on AH -_- blizzard needs to add pvp already

Have to say, Blizzards attitude towards D3 is making me care less and less about picking up the next Starcraft game/expansion. I'm just not sure I want to pony up another 60 dollars to this company as a whole.

Going into the D3 launch, I really only had faith in two developers as far as the PC went, Blizzard and Valve. I now only have faith in Valve. Blizz utterly shit the bed on this one.

I think It's more of a Activision influence similar to what has happened with Bioware and EA.

It's a shame there isn't much good left out there. Right now my favorite company is Grasshopper (Shadows of The Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes) in terms of guaranteed quality product. More or less companies are getting either more greedy and/or lazy. One day everything is going to be a small portion of the game and the rest will be sold as DLC.

it's goign to do do well for people that love RTS but i think blizzard really fraked up splitting this into 3 games. who the hell is going to spend 60$ for 3 more units online and another short 4 hour campain?

what they should of done is release all 3 campains but split em into 2 arcs and hire a good story writer so it's actually good for a change. :)

I thought the expansions were gonna be a little bit less? Like $40 or maybe $30.

the sc2 expansions aren't really expansions if you think about it...more like 3 huge chunks of a big game. bigger than an expansion smaller than a triple A launch title. it's popular, ppl will pay for it and the competitive community will keep it alive.

as for d3, no matter how much you beat the issue ppl who are enjoying and ppl that are disgusted w/blizz will never see eye to eye.

Who is going to buy Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void? Most likely everyone that bought Wings of Liberty, they're going to be huge sellers no matter what. StarCraft is alive and well. It also helps that StarCraft is one of the biggest eSports around.

you figure if it's a 4 hour campaign, most ppl will play it on at least 2 difficulties...then there's all the mods. my friend bought Wings of Liberty for the bejeweled SC2 mod. When it hits $19.99, I'm totally buying it so I can pay it too. The rest of the releases will follow when they hit the price point.

got a very underwhelming set of Lacuni bracers off a breakable in act 1/inferno. low str/int. I'm guessing these were highly sought after before the IAS patch? I wasn't even using my MF character.

You want SC2 for $20? You'll either need to find a hell of a sale, or wait a very long time.

it's been $29.99 a few times this year, otherwise there's no rush. The CAG in me wants the $19.99 pricetag, so it's not $ it's princple. hee hee.

diablo 3 profiles are live...they even go as far as tell you what items you have are dyed by what color + your followers equipment is also shown.

Thank god for profiles, it just got me to play again. When I imagine all the fun I can have at work looking at my gear, it makes me forget all about the horrible design. Who needs PvP when you have PROFILES!

I like the fact that they 'teased' profiles on Facebook like a week ago.

haha...the profiles, while great for making the day go by faster at work don't update as often as ppl may want. This will no doubt cause the same RAGE as it did when the Bungie halo reach profiles weren't updated regularly.

I accidentally vendored my spare weapon yesterday after not playing for a while and forgetting that I kept a spare in my inventory. I think that took the wind out my desire to come back to this game for until the 1.04 patch comes out. It was a 12k damage bow with around 260 vit, 150 dex and a good amount of leech. It was one I found too so that made it hurt more. Pretty disappointed and didn't notice it was gone until sometime later.
Just gotta say for the record, Jodou's Barbarian is ridiculous.
You check out Dragon's Dogma yet? I found out friends can use their pawn for free, regardless of what level they are. My sorc could carry you through the entire game if you wanted haha. :p

If that weapon had a socket, that would have gone up for major bucks in rmAH :hot:

Thats like the most quoted line in D3. Yea of course, if the item I had was better, itll sell more.

That should be the tagline in advertisements of this game

Diablo III
Tagline? More like story of my life and why I quit D3.
Serious question. Is there a game you don't quit?

I quit D3 when I found out I only enjoy PvPing.

i think there are still a ton of ppl that play solitarie and mindsweeper...but I understand your pov. I play LoL when I need that pvp fix or TF2.

nice thing w/profiles (though i hope they do update them more frequently than once every couple of days in the future), you can virtually swap your gear. I can see by swapping a few items from my WD to my Wiz I can gain about 160 AR among other stats without losing much. I'm hoping this will let my wiz do act 3 w/less problems vs. act 2 like it's her job. Also nice to see the % of MF that you actually get from your follower.

Killing Floor and JC2 are about the only ones that come to mind. I keep going back to those games whenever I'm bored.

geez...did they say when this happened? cause I got a really strange televangalist call me the other day and ask me to call an 800.
geez...did they say when this happened? cause I got a really strange televangalist call me the other day and ask me to call an 800.
8/4. They were analyzing this for nearly a week to report accurately.

so im going to guess, the 800 televanglist is probably some random that got my cell number...through something. cause it was pretty random and I'm on that list of not to call me. time to change some passwords.
Motherfuckers, ugh. I'm so through with Blizzard.
@#$% happens, it's just sad how much cyber attention Blizzard is getting...but consider it's WoW accounts + SC2 accounts, and D3 accounts. Statistically, it was bound to happen. It's an information gold mine.

Invidia got hacked, Sony PS3 accounts got a major hack, EA, Blizzard...the place I buy my sammiches from had a fire, but aside from the PS3 I still use all those products or continue to buy my lunch there. imo, the "ugh" should be directed at the hackers more than the company.

one would assume that blizz, being the big ass company it is, had some pretty good security in place, but its dangerous to make assumptions. still, the truth is that nothing is "unhackable" given enough time. the fault of blizzard will be how they handle it.

This isn't new, it's just the biggest fuckup they had so far. There have been reports of people having their accounts broken into for months. I would say fuck it and just play offline only, but well I can't fucking do that now can I? It's been one screwup after another with Blizzard since the release of D3, I'm done with it.

yeah, i am excite.

biggest news for me that isn't shrouded in mystery is...lvl 61 and 62 wpns can have dps equal to lvl 63 ones. if not for the actual benefit we can get from having more chances to get a high dps wpn, just the variety of wpns we can now we seen using. Frankly I think the lvl 62 1H axe is the most badass out of the lvls. 63 looking just too plain. + 2H wpns getting a buff is great news as well...now if they would only add a small block chance to Daibo's...

great news re everything pretty much, I won't get my hopes up too high for the changes made to the class abilities, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised.
