I put the UP list on hold. If Best Buy gets the Blu-ray steelbook then I wont bother buying any, much like I did do Snow White.
 
Accord, quick question.

With FS saying on their forums that they are going to limit the purchase of these to 1 per household, I imagine it will be more difficult for you to obtain these. I know that some people want more than one copy, but just to insure that as many people as possible get a copy, would you limit it to one per person too?

Hey, no steelbook has ever dropped in value, at the very least they stay about even with the $50 price. Even Indy 4, which was VERY hard for me to sell at time of release, heck I sold a bunch at like $35 bucks, even lost a few dollars on each, now sells on ebay for around $80. Lesson learned... hold on to them, try to keep them sealed, or at the very least mint. If you decide to sell you'll def get all your money back if you bought it for around $40-50, and if you hold on to it long enough and its rare.... well $100-200 is def not out of the question for some of them.
 
So Future Shop doesn't allow you to buy a Steelbook alone like Best Buy? Too bad, I've already got a few of these discs that I would really like Steelbooks for. I guess I could resell them.

No the discs are in the steelbook, so you can't buy just the case like with snow white. Basically it's a repackaging of the whole thing.

best buy has only done this once, and to my knowledge it is the first time any store has done it, i would not expect it to become a standard thing. most stores the discs come in the case.
 
If it's not too late can you put me down for at least Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Up, and Monster's Inc. (and hold them (as in ship them) all until at least when Up and Monster's Inc.). Thank you and I'll let you know if want any of the other release then.

I believe I can field this one. I wondered this myself, initially but then I thought about it and came to the logical conclusion. Because AccordTR is doing a mass buy for not only the members of this site but other sites as well the suffix is a way to let himself and others know where each of the individuals comes from. (CAG = CheapAssGamer.com, HDD = HighDefDigest.com, and BLU = BluRay.com)

Accord, if it isn't too late, may I be removed from the lists? The leaks we got during the floods got worse this morning, and it's going to cost more than I expected to repair them, and I need every penny to go toward that right now. If not, I understand. But if it's possible, I'd appreciate it greatly.

I don't get it. So do these steelbooks come with the steelbook plus the original case and bluray? I picked up the snow white steelbook from best buy.

I'm out to see what I can get in about 15 mins. I will let you guys know and then set my price accordingly. If they end up being 10 or less a store and limit per person, I'm not sure what I will sell them for. I hope I can get lots, but if I can only get 5-10 then my price will obviously be a lot highier than originally planned. Obviously anyone who wants out if this happens def no problem. I will most likely just remove the lists and sell them to those that really really want them, hence willing to pay what they appear to be worth. Again nothing is in stone till I get back with the situation.

And no it's not greed that makes me increase the price, I took the day off work without pay so I need to recoupe some of my wage of about $300 a day.
 
The price on Ebay will eventually tank. Everyone that has kept track of this whole debacle on numerous threads knows that 100's of copies on Ebay will never sell above $100-eventually it will come down to hair splitting in the pricing. People are now impulse buying out of fear that they won't get a copy, and most will pay anything just to have it. That's ok of course, but exercise your judgment. Good luck everyone, in getting a copy at a reasonable cost.
 
Sorry guy it looks like group buys are done on these. Some stores got none, one got 7, the other 9. I have 3 in Gand and heading to the last store. These things will sky rocket, there too rare to say the least. I hope I can least get a couple more.

Have to disagree. Prices are going to go even higher, there is literally none of these around. They are rarer than john Rambo or IAL.

You might as well use the trading forum now as this is no longer a service/buy-in and now just a make money thread.

Not that there is anything wrong with that but you would get more exposure there

Hi Jaime, I have 15+ yrs experience in media distribution (US, we have nothing to do with Canada distribution), and privately have sold on Ebay since the early 90's via 3 different companies. If they really are that rare (everyone I've talked to had 5-10, 15 tops in store), though it seems a bit absurd that there are that few, then they will of course inflate in the short term, until they either sell out, or some non-hardcore collectors will not be willing to pay that much. Obviously the 4000/title run did not hold here, and likely because Disney was getting 12 different titles manufactured. The majority of people will not pay $150-200 for (1) Steelbook, but as usual hardcore collectors will, especially if there, in fact,that few. Good Luck to everyone on this and all of the other threads trying to run down the rest of these Steels. Have a good day, everyone!

well they are sold out already. One hour after store opening and there gone. Check blu-ray.com, everyone is posting that they are either sold out, or got none. Clearly there is not 15 per store as I was at one store first in line and they got none. Second store I got to 15 after opening and I got the last 2 of 9 they got. Steelbooks are huge in Europe, and I can promise after being in the resale business of these for the last two years these are the rarest yet to be released

anyways, I will likely close the thread soon as clearly futureshop and Disney do not want these mass produced and resold, sucks but after it sold out online in 3 hours I guess it was expected.

I just talked to the media manager of winnipeg/brandon.... manitoba got 35 total between the 5 stores. Thats beyond rare, they are already sold out and online they were gone within hours. I would love to buy them for you but there simply isnt any. I drove around all morning and got 5, I used to be able to buy 50-100 at one store. I have one for myself, sold one to a friend I trade with, that leaves me with a grand total of 3 to sell.

That's just sad...on a good note, I will still have money in my wallet.
