According to another website, a poster with connections to a District Manager let him know that starting October 20th through October 29th all used games will be buy 2 get 1 free. Will obviously confirm this tomorrow, but this gives us something to check out on Friday.
I think this is over tonight so you better hurry.
Would they really have a 3-day b2g1? It should last a week, it started early for some odd reason though.

I wish more XBox games were on the BC list for the 360. I would like to repick up Psychonauts and also grab Indigo Prophecy and Prince of Persia: TTT finally. Somehow, none of these games are on the list. :(

I can pick up Ninja Gaiden Black though, if I can find a few other reasonably cheap games to go along with it.
About 10 days ago he made a post where he claims "I am so broke."

Yeah.
Credit cards are one's friend.

so does anyone know if it ends tonight or next sunday like what was originally said?

Went to an EB and a Gamestop today that are across the street from each other to take advantage of the cheap DVDs one more time. Made the mistake of taking my wife with me, and she picked out more DVDs than I did. After discounts and buy 2 get 1 free, I got these for $2 each today (no tax since I used store credit to pay for them).

Slackers
House (the horror movie, with House 2 bonus disc)
Garfield The Movie
Rudy (Special Edition)
Freddy Got Fingered
Candyman
Godzilla
Walking Tall (remake with The Rock)
Whale Rider
Waking Up In Reno
Who is Harry Crumb?
School of Rock
Sneakers (Collector's Edition)
Planet of the Apes (2-disc Special Edition)
Reservoir Dogs
The Great Outdoors
Neverending Story II
Intolerable Cruelty
The Hunted
Flashdance
Boat Trip
Slave of the Cannibal God (Ursula Andress B-movie)
Seabiscuit
One more movie that I can't recall

Found a copy of The Wash starring Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre with bonus soundtrack cd in the $2 bin but unforunately when I took it up there they didn't have the bonus cd, so I left it. Would have been nice to get that soundtrack and the movie for $2 total. You can probably guess which movies above are my wife's and which are mine, as I like horror and comedy and she likes drama and action movies with guys called The Rock.

I also got a couple of strategy guides that were pennied out. The guy wasn't going to give them to me, but it took him so long to check me out because he couldn't get the sales prices/bonuses right, then he couldn't find the movies (I was there about 25 minutes) that he gave them to me after all. The guides are Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Suikoden Tactics.

Saturday, at a different Gamestop, I grabbed I grabbed Nightmare on Elm Street, A Sound of Thunder, and The Outsiders for $2 each.

I saw a lot of good $10 and $12.99 DVDs, but the lines were long and the stores were crowded so I didn't want to do multiple transactions to get those, so I stuck with the 3/$10 DVDs. By the way, with discount card + buy 2 get 1 free + normal buy 3 discount, here's the DVD price breakdowns:

$5.99 DVDs = 3/$10 - 10% discount = $9 - $3 for buy 2 get 1 free = $6 or $2 per DVD

$9.99 DVDs = 3/$20 - 10% discount = $18 - $6 for buy 2 get 1 free = $12 or $4 per DVD

$12.99 DVDs = 3/$30 - 10% discount = $27 - $9 for buy 2 get 1 free = $18 or $6 per DVD

I have yet to meet an EB/GS employee that can do the math properly, so it's good to figure out the math yourself ahead of time so you can make sure they charge you correctly.
I think next time I'll go early in the day on a Friday before the crowds get there and buy a bunch of $9.99 and $12.99 DVDs, as they always have some pretty nice movies in that price range.
lol... this is how you know i've spent too much time on this: if you would've switched re4 for jade empire, you would've saved $5... yeah... WAY too much time
Not really! I hit up gamestop for FF10, Kotor 2 and Jade Empire. Picked up the rest at ebgames. As a GAG, I would never allow such a thing to happen.

I HATE when they do that. Go try to f*** with someone else, but don't screw me out of my hard earned money. I mean, give me a break. I was able to catch an employee today doing it, a manager no less. I caught him on stacking 3 for $20, B2G1 and 10%, as he was just going to do B2G1 and 10% off.

He then went into this story about how I'm already getting a good deal and that the store would lose money if they stacked all three (oh right because them giving $1 each for the movies is putting the store into debt? Asshole.) Anyways, he called another store, other store confirmed what I had to tell the store manager. Store manager THEN calls district manager who confirmed what I told store manager. Store manager then angrily does B2G1 and 3 for $20, but doesn't scan my card. He handed it back to me, and I asked him to scan it. He was about to crawl out of his skin, because he then scans it, and FINALLY adjusts it to the correct price, but after me having to walk him through the whole checkout process. I'm sure he didn't like a college student knowing how to do proper discounts and adjustments, and him not knowing at all.

what a bag of douche

How does the b2g1 stack with 3 for 20? do you get 9 for 40?

I really cleaned house this time out.
I went to one GS and they had KH2 and Disgaea 2, but nothing else I wanted, so I just grabbed a place holder to trade later. Then I grabbed Death Jr, Tales of Legendia and MGS3 Sub. Total was 111, but I had 80ish in credit, so that was only 30.

Then I went to my local one, they didn't have what the site said, but I did get Devil May Cry 3 SE, RE4 PS2 and 4 Sword Adventure for another 30.

This last store was killer though. I don't know how, but I totally raped them.
I returned Disgaea 2 and KH2 becase this store had VP2.
For some reason, the return messed up their system, as I walked out with VP2 and D2 for 29.15 each! For some reason it took off 20% and then it took off 10% for my card and then another 10% for the magazine coupon! So with that, I got VP2, D2 and Kingdom Hearts 2 for 60 fucking dollars!
But thats not all.
They also had-
Okami- 28.34
MK:Armageddon-28.34
Xenosaga 3- free
Dot Hack 4 -24.29
Onimusha 4 -21.86
Atelier Iris 2- free
Star Fox Assault- 14.57
Punisher- 10.52
Pikmin- free

I got those 10 games from that one store for $120. 4 of them new releases!

Oh yea, they also gave me an empty GC case and a Tales of Symphonia case and instructions for free! Which is awesome because the one I ordered online came disk only.

I kept it simple and went down the street and picked up 30 DC VMUnits for a whopping $2.50 -10% off with MORE card. Also scored some other 75% off merchandise with 2 SNES and 1 Gen carts.... will hit my GS up for RE4, God of War, and either SWKotOR2 or something else and/or some of the DVDs I've been wanting....

Whew, looks like everyone snagged some good deals. I decided to do some more barrel scraping type of deal hunting. I don't mind getting a higher dollar game for free (like buy 2 @ $25 and get one $25 game free)...BUT...I am an OG when it comes to CAG...lol. I would rather get a LOT of games for that same money. I mean, if Mech Assault was $50 new, isn't it still the same game now that it's $2.99? :}

Anywho, I ended up with the following XBOX games...
Brute Force
Crimson Skies
Max Payne
Max Payne 2
Mech Assault
Midtown Madness 3
Project Gotham Racing
Project Gotham Racing 2
Project Snowblind
Sega GT 2002 / JSRF
Speed Kings (missing manual)
Spy Hunter
Star Wars Clone Wars / Tetris Worlds
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow
Total Immersion Racing
Turok Evolution
Wings of War
Wreckless

My Father (who likes to play games with our boys/his grandkids) picked a couple of games I had that he was interested in. He turned around and bought me 2 games...wait...b2g1 free...weee make that 3 games.

I picked up a few that I have already played mainly because I couldn't find anything else at a few of the stores (4 stores within 5 mile radius of where we live...weee). It just sucks when you are trying to find a particular complete game and all they have is disc only or no manuals... :{ Anywho, those games (and the ones I'm not "feeling" when I check them out) will end up on ebay...which, if I'm lucky, will help to decrease the cost of the ones I do keep. :}

So far I'm diggin the weapons in Project Snowblind. Thanks to the graphics/animation, sound and impact (what they do to the enemy), the weapons just feel "solid". Now I may just have to pick up a second copy for some System Link multiplayer action (even if it doesn't have split screen, only offering for one person per screen/xbox).

Thanks to the OP for the heads up on this one, and congrats to everyone on the deals.
How does the b2g1 stack with 3 for 20? do you get 9 for 40?

10% for the magazine coupon!
What magazine coupon?

And no, it's $9.99 x 3 for 3 movies @ $9.99 each. Now, 3 for $20, brining the movies to $6.66 or so each. Subtract $6.66 from $20 for the B2G1, then subtract 10% off that total.

Brings it to about $12 for 3 $9.99 movies. Score.
I agree with your intent here.. he should have given you the discount to begin with. But you forget one crucial fact.. he didn't have to sell you anything. Any store has the right to refuse any sale at any time for any reason... so... sometimes it's not worth being so pushy. But anyway, bravo! :applause:

October GI had a dual sided coupon. One side was +10% off on used games and the other was +30% trade-in credit towards the new consoles/GoW/FFXII/other crap. I got to use the +10% coupon 3 times merely by mentioning it. They gave me the discount without even having the coupon on me.

The last store I stacked the 30 with my card even though the guy said it didn't work. I said all deals stack with the card. He asked his manager and I walked out with $45 towards FFXII for 2 shitty games and 3 really shitty DVDs.

While that's technically true very very few stores would do that as it gives the customer free reign for a discrimination lawsuit, regarless of your ethnic background.

True, however, no-one benefits if a transaction is not made. Wealth is gained by completing transactions, as I value the cheap movies over the money I spent, while the store values my money over the cheap movies. So, we both earned wealth, however in different forms. Denying a trade would be stupid, and they would lose their benefit themselves.

Since the EBGames at the Echelon Mall in Voorhees, NJ just recently closed, the Gamestop downstairs has been running a 20% everything except systems promotion. This deal is obviously stackable with the More Card, DVD deals, and B2G1. So I went in today expecting a big haul, but not the huge haul I ended up getting. I walked out with...

DVD:
Schindler's List
Sideways
Serpico
Happy Tree Friends 3
The Fly Special Edition (awesome!)
Smokey and the Bandit (double awesome!)
American Wedding
Practical Magic (for my gf)
SLC Punk

Games: (all prices after 20% off + 10% off)
Disgaea 2 (PS2) $32.39
Shadow Hearts (PS2) $28.79
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2) FREE
Steambot Chronicles (PS2) $25.19
Suikoden III (PS2) $21.59
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (PS2) FREE (Up to this point all AMAZING deals!)
Super Mario Strikers (GC) $17.99
Mega Man X Collection (GC) $12.95
ICO (PS2) FREE
Star Ocean (PS2) $12.95
Super Monkey Bal Deluxe (XB) $12.95
Ninja Gaiden Black (XB) FREE
WarioWorld (GC) $9.35
Theif: Deadly Shadows (XB) $7.19
Parappa the Rapper 2 (PS2) FREE
Viewtiful Joe (GC) $5.03
Jax & Daxter: the Precursor Legacy (PS2) $5.03
Primal (PS2) FREE
Star Wars Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds (XB) $3.59
The Mark of Kri (PS2) $3.59
The Thing (XB) FREE

Plus GTA: San Andreas and Suikoden Tactics guides for $.01 each

Total was $229.78. No sales tax because I used credit I amassed from reselling the crap out of KMart clearance games, and I still have $409.93 in credit to use towards Wii games and accessories (my Wii and eBay-bound PS3 are already paid in full). All in all a damn good day. Also confirmed with the manager that the sale runs til Sunday Oct. 29th.

Went in to pick up some games for the ds lite that my gf is getting, so I got these:

Mario Kart DS
Super Princess Peach
Tetris DS

With B2G1, 10% more card and 10% GI coupon it came out to a little under $49, fucking great deal (now my gf owes me $50).
No, no, no, no. That's where your problem is. You are trying to trade in such a good game :p.

Ok...so, what does that have to do with B2G1 free...
Perhaps the clerk thought he could buy it himself right after robbyH left the store. He was astonished that his plan didn't work :applause:
When does said coupon expire?
Seeing how it was the October coupon... I'd say it expires when October does.

Saw a copy of Disgaea Hour of Darkness used at Centeron Square Mt. Laurel (NJ) store, but passed as I couldn't finad anything else comprabel to leverage teh B2G1 with.

I don't think there is anything comparable with it's $69.99 used price tag (maybe some 360 games, but not even those reach that high).

Star Trek Box sets... other store around here are loaded but that one had none.

Maybe a fellow CAG with a 360 can make use of thie info.

I went to EB today to look at DVDs. First, they were all crap. Then, it appears that before trading them in people decided to run the boxes over with their cars. I didn't buy anything.
I went to EB today to look at DVDs. First, they were all crap. Then, it appears that before trading them in people decided to run the boxes over with their cars. I didn't buy anything.
I will never understand how these box sets that can cost 70 bucks retail get so tore up.

Everytime I try and take advantage of this sale I can never find three games I really want. It's like every EBGS has a list of games I want and pull all the good games, cept two. I'm ALWAYS looking for a third game :bomb:

Ah well I got plenty to play as it is.
I will never understand how these box sets that can cost 70 bucks retail get so tore up.
I have a theory that it happens at the time of trade-in.

Customer: "I paid $70 for this, and you're telling me I can only sell it to you for $5? Hmm...Does the box have to be in good shape?"

Employee: "No."

Customer (starts banging on the box): "Dammit Dammit Dammit Dammit... Ok, Gimme the $5."

Speaking of condition, ALWAYS check the condition of the game either before you purchase it, or, AT THE LEAST, before you leave the store/parking lot. I had a group of games I was purchasing and looked at them to discover 2 looked like someone had put the disc on the ground, stepped on em and spun around. Another customer commented that he didn't know they even took (in trade) discs in that bad of condition. Lucky for me, they had more copies and could trade out for a better one.

*Side note...
I've heard mention on here of some GS/EB stores not liking people to group games during the B2G1Free sales. For those that don't know, here's an example. Say you were purchasing 6 games (buying 4, getting 2 free) of various price differences. If you throw them all into one bunch, it's going to be the cheapest 2 games that are free. Say 3 of the games are $9.99 and the others are cheaper than that. This means you are paying for all 3 of the $9.99 games (plus 1 of the cheaper ones) and getting the 2 cheapest ones free. However, if purchase the games as two groups of 3, then one of $9.99 games would be free and the cheapest of the cheaper games would be free. Why pay for a $9.99 game when you could get it free, right? I mean, we are CAG's after all. :}

As I mentioned before, some people here on CAG forums have said that the EB/GS stores they go to don't like (or sometimes allow) people to group games together. Unless you are buying a TON of stuff and trying to make up lots of groups, there is a way to buy just a couple of groups of games/DVDs as separate without much, if any, hassle. Figure out how you want to group the games before going to the counter and set them on the counter as two groups. Let the clerk know you want to purchase the groups separately as one group is for you and another is for a friend. Pay for one group with a credit/debit card (your group). Pay for the other group (your friend's) with cash. It can help if you have your card and cash with each group as you set them on the counter too.

Even if they don't want to allow the separate grouping based upon you purchasing for you and your friend, the separate payment methods (and need for separate receipts) helps to show it's separate transactions (and not just "grouping" for the best deal).

I had a guy take all my games and started scanning them willy nilly. I told him you have to scan them in groups of 3. He started arguing with me that the system just marks off the cheapest games, working up. I had like three $45 games and three $20s and would have wound up paying $20 more. I was about to tell him he was a moron when the manager turned around and said, "No, hes right, its every third game free." He just went ...oh... and started scanning them in the order I laid them out. :D

Also, the last GS I went to, they had no problem letting me group them. But then I had 4 piles...

I picked up Xenosaga, Hulk Utimate Destruction and killzone (free, couldn't find anything better) yesterday at one GS and Prince of Persia 3, Midnight Club Dub Remix, Resident Evil 4 (free) from another today, total with added game card ( i didn't have one) was about $70, lil pricey but worth it, exept for killzone. I plan to hit the Toys R Us sale this week for Marvel, Splinter cell and maybe Okami, already got Suikoden Tactics free by buying my sister a couple of games she wanted and her letting me get the freebie. My Ps2 is a happy lil man now.

It's sickening that I dont really need, nor should I get any more games, but feel a compulsion to check what's available online and then ponder about going to the store or not - all because of this B2G1 sale.

The kicker is buying "used" copies isn't even remotely appealing. Luckily Okami and MK: Armegeddon are new enough that it was worth it.

Still feel like I'll lose out if I don't score some cheapy games soon too. Ugh.

I've been picking up a ton of the cheap sports games as trade fodder on the FYE deal going on. I usually need to check every game for excessive scratching and no missing manuals. It's a hassle but worth it for the B2G1 deal. I can drop about ~$30 on 12 used games and generally pick up 3 new games at FYE that are priced at $40 each. The timing of this sale with FYE's is very nice. ;)
good selection (all things considered), but reservoir dogs?! what kind of fuck head would trade that in?! hahahahaha... his loss, so congrats, but no boxed sets?
They had every box set you could want between the 3 stores I went to, but none I was interested in, even at buy 2 get 1 free, since most box sets are in the $30 range, and that works out to $60 for 3 box sets, or $20 a pop. I tend to only watch stuff once, so I usually just rent box sets rather than buy them as it's cheaper that way, especially with Blockbuster Online. Right now I'm watching Brisco County Jr.: The Complete Series at an average rate of 6 discs a week. Good show.

As for Resevoir Dogs, it was the original DVD release, and any true fan probably has the 10th Anniversary Special Edition. I have the Special Edition myself, and I was going to leave Resevoir Dogs there, but I do so much DVD trading online that I figured it would be good trade bait. I tend to trade most of my DVDs after I watch them. It costs $3.50+tax to rent a DVD around here, or I can go buy them at EB/GS for $2 (during this sale) or $3 (normally), which is kind of a no-brainer. Check out my profile on switchdiscs.com and you'll see 100+ DVDs that pretty much all came from the 3/$10 bin at EB/GS or were purchased even cheaper at garage sales.
Plus GTA: San Andreas and Suikoden Tactics guides for $.01 each
How'd you get them for so cheap? I'd like to have a GTA:SA guide just because I loved playing that game.

EDIT: Also, I'm heading to my EB tonight for this sale. It's going to be hard to not spend tons of money, but I've got to keep enough for a Wii. I figure I'll get 3 $5 or less games and maybe 3 $8-10 games.

Yeah that's what happened to me that day, that's before the dude forgot to put the 10%...He was like oh you can't group these together, you will get the 2 cheapest games for free...I was like fine, just give me these 3 games now & i'll just go to the bathroom & drop a deuce & come back buy another 3 games or you can just do it all in one time...Seriously, don't people have common sense these days...

I've heard mention on here of some GS/EB stores not liking people to group games during the B2G1Free sales. For those that don't know, here's an example. Say you were purchasing 6 games (buying 4, getting 2 free) of various price differences. If you throw them all into one bunch, it's going to be the cheapest 2 games that are free. Say 3 of the games are $9.99 and the others are cheaper than that. This means you are paying for all 3 of the $9.99 games (plus 1 of the cheaper ones) and getting the 2 cheapest ones free. However, if purchase the games as two groups of 3, then one of $9.99 games would be free and the cheapest of the cheaper games would be free. Why pay for a $9.99 game when you could get it free, right? I mean, we are CAG's after all. :}

We're sure this includes accessories, right? And theoretically I could get 2 games and one, yes?

Side question - is it worth it to pick up a Gamecube BBA?
