According to another website, a poster with connections to a District Manager let him know that starting October 20th through October 29th all used games will be buy 2 get 1 free. Will obviously confirm this tomorrow, but this gives us something to check out on Friday.

Another reason why you should always pay attention to cashiers while at Gamestop:

Well I had already picked up a few games for myself earlier this week, but decided to stop by the GS where I worked during my lunch break. I looked around but didn't see anything too great but I figured I would pick up a few DS games for my nephews since Christmas is around the corner anyway. So I found mint copies of

New Super Mario Bros. $30
Mario vs DK 2 $30
Sonic Rush $18
Spongebob Squarepants Yellow Avenger $18
Brain Age $18

At this point I couldn't find any more DS games that received good reviews so I picked up 24: The Game, since I was pressed for time, that was marked as $30 (rung up as $25). I go up to the cashier to use my Edge card and the GI coupon. I was denied using the coupon (and it happened at three other stores in NY and NJ so I didn't bother arguing over it) and watched him start to ring up my two separate piles (3 @ $30) and (3 @$18). I got a call from the office on my cell during checkout and I stopped paying attention to him. By the time I was finished with the call I was rung up for $96 after edge and tax, which meant that he changed the discounted games after he started scanning as he went through my $30 pile first. I didn't have time to argue with him then so I just paid for the games with the intention of coming back after work.

I come back and while I'm waiting in line, I see the same cashier arguing with a father and his son about returning Flight Simulator X they bought yesterday that wouldn't work on their computer since they had opened the case. At that point I decided it wasn't worth it arguing over the scanning and just returned 24 back for store credit. But seriously when did this policy for new PC games happen because I remember back in high school (7 years ago), it was ok to bring the game back for credit if there were problems. Sorry if this doesn't sound well organized but I'm trying to post this message while cooking dinner.

Uhh are you sure that's $25 w/pad? The one @ my EB is without the pad & goes for $25...
Picked up DDR Mario Mix w/ pad for $25 and a couple other games. Had no intentions of getting DDR, but 5 minutes earlier I saw one in Sears, so when I saw a used one in EB I figured what the hell.
Well I managed to use the coupon and the "buy two get one free" deal at the Gamestop near the Greenwood Park mall. Didn't know that Warioware Touched went down in price.

Fire Emblem : Path of Radiance (GC) - $18 (14.50 after all discount)

Metal Gear Solid : Twin Snakes (GC) - $18 (14.50 after all discount)

Warioware Touched (DS) - $15 (free)

Ugh! I thought I was done spending money on games this week. Hope the copy I saw yesterday is still there tomorrow :|

Yeah I got the pad & game for $25. The sticker on the box (the big box--not the game box) says "game only" (I didn't notice that detail until I got home), but I made sure that the pad came with it before I bought it.

It's the DDR Mario Mix Action Pad Set.

Man, if I would have known Warioware was down to $15 I would have so gotten. Great score man.

Hit a bunch of stores today. One even had 4 GameBoy Players!

2 States, 2 malls, 3 counties, 8 total stores.. not even close to the number that are within 10 miles. Only one store had an employee who tried to tell me that the sale ended sunday. The big banner in the front window and manager out back convinced him otherwise.

2 other stores gave me this end dates of the 29th and the 30th.

Highlights:
SMT Nocturne (again) w/o bonus disk
6x Game Boy Players
2 or 3 Ps2 Net Adapters
2x DDS 1
Justice League Heroes Ps2

Oh, and the Burlington Center in Burlington NJ had ton of recent rlease Xbox 360 games used (I passed on them all)... can't remember if it is the EB ro the Gamestop in there, pretty sure it was the Gamestop.

I'm probably going to hit at least one, maybe 2 more GS stores I've yet to go to tomorrow. I'm not seriously looking for anything, but ya never know what you may find.

Most of the time the online lookup (seeing if a store near you has a game) works well. However, I was able to find one game at a store that didn't have it listed online (sorta strange as all the others were spot on correct).

I just wish there was a difference between just a disc and a complete game (w/manual, etc.). I prefer to get complete games. At the least, it can help if I want to sell it on ebay after I'm finished with it. It makes it hard when I'm trying to find just one more game to finish out my B2G1Free grouping and all I run across is games I've already bought, ones I don't want, or incomplete ones.

Another bummer is getting hold of a jerk-clerk that gives the typical "that's all we've got" response (while pointing at the shelf or bin) when asked if they have a complete copy of a game (instead of at least looking in the drawer and checking...which many of the clerks will do).

*side note:
I remember back in the day that keeping a manual with a game for Atari 2600, NES, etc. was hard because the games came in cardboard boxes that were not meant to store the games in, so, the manuals often got separated and could be easily lost. At least Genesis games came in a case that could hold the manual. Anywho, perhaps it's just me, but I am suprised by how many people lose their manuals for modern games. I mean, the cases (like XBOX) have a freaking place for (with tabs to hold) the manual right in there.

So how did you make sure the pad came with it? I was about to buy it myself (had the big box & all) then i notice it was a bit light...Dude said oh yeah it doesn't come with the pad just the game...Said you have to buy the pad seperately...

I think I'll go take advantage of this tomorrow.

Is Gamestop still doing trade in 3 get an extra $10 still? I usually trade my games to swapyourgames.com but recently their trade in prices blow.

Nope, done. The used game sales like this usually come shortly after the trade-in deals.

The pad was already in the box. I asked the guy if the set came with everything I need to play and he said yeah. He even took the pad out of the box to make sure it was in good condition before I paid for it. I don't know much about the different pads, but its the black, blue, & white one with the silhouette of Mario breakdancing in the center.

Made my run today by a couple of stores. One of them I had not been to yet, the other I had gone to the other day. I picked up the following XBOX games:
Group 1 from GS -
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Rallisport Challenge (have #2 and love it but never played the original)
Unreal Championship
Group 2 from EB -
Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2nd copy for System Link play)
Enclave (for my wife to check out)
Unreal Championship 2

GS/EB needs to stop this sale before I go spend any more...lol.

I have a funny Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RtCW) story from this weekend. I went to my parent's house this weekend. My Father has an XBOX he saw at a garage sale and ended up trading some fly fishing equipment he didn't need for it (the guy was moving to a state where he wanted to do some fly fishing). Anyway, when our boys stay with their Grandparents, Grandpa plays some games with them on the XBOX. He has a few mature titles that the boys don't play. One of them is RtCW. I didn't have a copy and wanted to check out multiplayer, so Dad and I fired it up to check out co-op play. We were gunning down Nazis and having a good ole time. :}

In one area, I went to the right, my Father had gone to the left. We didn't know it, but both paths converged on opposite ends of a LONG hallway. Both of us stepped around the corner, saw someone at the far end of the hall, aimed, fired and BAM...both of us immediately dropped dead. We had killed each other with one shot. Mission Failed screen comes up next. We said at least we know we are both have good aim...LOL.

I tried to get some games for the FYE trade in and every single game I brought up, the asshand manager would say "seems like we put the ...sticker on it, that's not the price." After trying to get non-scratched discs and dealing with the price changes, I finally walked out.

I dipped into my Wii fund and bought Test Drive unlimited, Phoenix Wright (I hope this game is good with all the talk about it) and Psychonauts.
Man, if I would have known Warioware was down to $15 I would have so gotten. Great score man.
I bought WW Touched yesterday and it was $25 at my local GameStop.
We said at least we know we are both have good aim...LOL.
end the end... isn't that ALL that matters? lol:applause:

Right. :)

I didn't even realize I wrote that so wrong...where the heck did that "are" come from?...lol

I guess another good thing to know is that if I'm armed and ever meet another armed person in a dark alley, as long as it isn't my Dad, I'm probably gonna walk away alive. :}~~~

hahahahaha... i don't like those odds!!

I picked up
:gc: Fire Emblem
:gc: Paper Mario
:gc: Pikmin
Total $34.80 which wasn't too bad for three games I have really been wanting to pick up. Dipped into my Wii fund though, so I need to find some more stuff to trade/sell.

Got Myself

-Digital Devil Saga 1 - have a sealed copy but since people want to pay $100 for it, ill settle for a used copy.
-Shining Tears
-Gamecube Gameboy Player

I got 6 GBA games:

Metroid Zero Mission - $6.99
Metroid Fusion - $6.99
Spy Hunter - Free

Phantasy Star Collection - $4.99
Gradius Galaxies - $4.99
Zone Of The Enders: Fist Of Mars - Free

Funny thing, Phantasy Star Collection rang up as Pac-Man Collection. Weird.

Well, I tried out RtCW System Link play last night. I knew the game was only 1 person per XBOX/screen so that wasn't a suprise. However, even thou I played the game on the PC, I forgot how many of the maps NEED a lot more than just 2 players. Also, the dark colors of the game make it even that much harder (on a TV vs a computer monitor) to pick out enemies from the environments. Not to mention most of the environments were designed for gameplay other than deathmatch (much less just 2 players). Also, without any bot support (to fill out the teams) it get limited pretty quick.

So, I decided to return one copy of RtCW for something else. That something else was a bit of a suprise to me. I had picked up Unreal Championship as one of my freebie titles but didn't really have plans on keeping it...as I already played UT2003/2004 on the PC. However, after playing around with the game I found it actually more fun on XBOX than on the PC (for some strange reason). The ability for a player to hook up a controller and join (or leave) at any time during a match was neat. Combine that with System Link support too, and it makes for some good fun. So, what the heck, I returned RtCW and picked up a 2nd copy of UC...lol.

BTW: if anyone has never messed around with Project Snowblind, you may want to check it out. It also has the limitation of 1 player per XBOX/screen for System Link multiplayer as RtCW. But, the different character classes have some neat weaponry/gadgets/features that even work for multiplayer.

Did it say that on the barcode sticker on the cartridge or the receipt?
I've never bought a used GBA game before and definitely would consider starting if I could buy that game for less than what the website says.:)

Picked up mylast games today until Smackdown vs Raw 2007 comes out. I got (all PS2)

And1 Streetball (for my nephew)
Xenosaga II
Hitman Blood Money

With this, TRU and FYE sale/deals I managed to pick up 20 games (11 new 9 used) for $150, not including the 3 I gave as gifts. I'm tapped out but a happy bastid.

Yeah, actually it said it on both. They were the same price, so that's probably why they put a different sticker on. I don't think it was an accident (though they do have similar names).
Am I able to choose which ones I want charged or do they choose the most expensive?
cheapest game is free

and since when did EB/GS quit carrying used PC games? I was going to clean up at this year's sale, like i did at last years, but to no avail.

Years ago, I think.

Depends on the store. Some got rid of them ages ago or never carried them at all. The chain itself officially got rid of them earlier this year. They had a big 99 cent clearance on PC games (it was posted here) and that was it.
I think they got rid of them to avoid licensing issues. Since software is technically "licensed" and not sold there was the potential for legal issues they don't have with console games. Not to mention so many games are going online now and buying a used copy of WoW is pretty useless.
Hey, does anyone know the store hours for gamestop tommorow?
It probably varies on location, but Sunday's my store is 11-6.

i picked up 3 more 360 games

grabbed:
Battle for Middle Earth II
Ninety-Nine Nights
Lego Star Wars

although im comtemplating take starwars back and getting Graw or Prey CE instead.

those are some excellent prices on the gba games. some good games in there, for 20 bucks that is a LOT of gaming.

I just headed to Gamestop since they still had the B2G1 sale going on used games. I swear if it wasn't for the sale I wouldn't have gone, SERVICE THERE SUCKS! I found my 3 games and went to check out. The cashier takes the cases and asks if I had their discount card, well I don't anymore (let it expire because I RARELY go there). After I said no I don't, she starts going through the whole speech o the card and how it would be just $10 now and I would get a discount and blah blah blah.... I interrput her and just say "no sorry I don't want the card, I don't shop here that often". Well was that good enough for her... NOPE she kept pushing trying to convince me to get the card, she even started telling me that she has seen me in there several times in the past few weeks... ummm hello I was in last week ONCE because of the B2G1 sale and before that it had been at least 5 months and even then unless there was a sale I didn't buy anything. After I tell her that I hadn't been in there but once in MONTHS she gets an attitude and slows down and takes her sweet fucking time getting my games. fucking B***H could your pushing attitude and poor service be why I would rather drive 30 miles to a different store than shop at your store...

While its annoying when they pimp the card or preorders hard you have to appreciate the fact that if they dont sell so many they are supposed to loose their jobs. If someone pushes beyond the point they did you id say sure blow up, but what happaned there didnt seem that bad.
A few months ago, actually, but close enough ;)
Out of the 5 of them that are 'fairly close' I've only seen used PC games at 2 of them. One of them closed down about 6 months before the merger and the other stopped carrying them before that even...

None of my GS have PS1 games anymore either. Even the really well performing ones. (ie- the one I got VP2, Okami, Disgaea2, MKA, and a whole bunch of other new releases)

I just HAD to make one more run today by a couple of stores I had not been to. They are a bit out of the way (so I usually don't go to them), but, we had a family day out and took the boys to the mall (EB in the mall, GS just across the street from the mall).

I ran thru EB in the mall and found a few titles I might pick up (and almost didn't due to the clerk p1mp1n the card after I told him I didn't want any info on it...lol). I decided to limit myself to the cheapest titles I could find and picked up the following XBOX titles Maximum Chase, The Thing and RLH (Run Like Hell). Not spectacular titles, but hey, 3 games for under $10, I'm not complaining. :}

Then we ran over to the GS across the street. I had a harder time finding 3 cheaper titles (as many of the cheaper ones I've already got or purchased during the sale). I picked out (XBOX) XIII, Rogue Ops and decided to go ahead and pick up a copy of Deus Ex: Invisible War even thou it was missing the manual. However, I found a "$9.99 and under" box on the counter with games in it. While looking thru the box I found a complete copy of Deus Ex (after having seen NO complete copies at any of the others stores I've been to)...yea! I also found 3 of the Exhibition demo discs (#1, 3 and 4) for $1.99 each (B2G1Free...weee).

Anywho, as much as I love these B2G1Free sales, I don't need to go buy any more games for a while (or spend any more money...lol). The only title I've yet to be able to find complete (God knows why I want to find it) was X-Men Next Generation (fighting game) for XBOX.

What game(s) was/were anyone else looking for during this sale they didn't find?

Bought these today:
Advance Wars $10
Konami Krazy Racers $5
Golden Sun $5 =Free

How much is the Gamestop card/subscription now, I thought it was $15 and not $10 before discount? The clerk tried to sell me one, but I passed since I didn't have anymore money.
