Wartech is $9.99 online as well. Will show up as $29.99 on search page, but will go down when added to cart.

Marked 9.99 in store as well. I picked up my copy a few hours ago.
Awesome. I'm heading out in a bit, I guess I'm making a stop at GS.
Wait, wait wait - the fighter/shooter hybrid mentioned earlier has me confused now. Is this like VO:OT, or more like say...The Red Star/Cannon Spike (as in shmup/beat em up)?
Picture Blazing Lazers, let's say. Now, picture instead of scrolling hordes of weak enemies, you have an evenly-match adversary who you battle with one-on-one in an enclosed stage. You have a variety of moves and progress from match to match with a thin storyline. You're also more like a mech than a ship, but that's just aesthetics. You can rush, block, melee spin, fire different attacks, and each character has their own unique moves. There are actual shmup-like battles against big ships, but they're usually end bosses.

It's kind of tough to explain -- even for this game journalist who's been describing Picross to people for 8 years. I guess you just have to play it yourself.

That actually makes total sense to me (I don't quite know if that's a good thing or not just yet). That being said, I'm off to pick this up before they close.

$30 is a great price for Trauma Center. As for Wartech, I guess it's worth $10.
I picked it up used at the last price drop and I could not return that game fast enough. All the characters feel woefully underpowered, there's absolutely no sense of intensity, the BOSS attacks are either totally ineffective or unbelievably devistating, and the end level of the single player is, for no real reason, totally different from the normal game. Add in a totally incomprehensible story and you've got Wartech, a mess of a game with lots of potential and very little execution.

So all you rushing off to buy it at $10, a warning. Yeah, it's only $10, but that's for a perfectly good reason.

I picked up Warech last night, and gasp, they still had one shrink-wrapped! Lucky me. I rented this awhile back. I thought it was a good game but not great. Worth $10.00. Good game to pick up and play quickly as the missions are short.

Pick up Senko no Ronde! I need to play more people online! The game is worth it if your a SHMUP fan. It sucks it got pushed down so fast, but hopefully now some people will pick it up.

ordered.
wouldnt have minded picking it up sooner, but with my puzzle quest purchase yesterday and my orange box purchase tomorrow, i wont be playing it any time soon anyway =)

thanks OP

Famitsu, after a large blunt and even larger payoff, gave this game a gold medal. Should we even trust them anymore? Still for achievement fodder and for collectors, $10 seems about right.

Edit: Ooops, just noticed this is a report will delete.
Edit2: Why can't I delete this post?!?! Oh, well this post has a link. Let it live!
well, now that you're stuck with your post, why would you use Famitsu's review of this game as a way to discredit them? ;) It's a great game that is very rewarding for those who learn how to play it. It isn't completely pick-up-and-play, I'll give the negative reviews that much, but like any well-made shmup or fighter, a person could get very into it and get a ton of enjoyment out of it. It's also pretty popular in Japan, so Famitsu has a little more insight into the game than we do here...and reading american reviews, it's obvious the reviewers were just puzzled by the game

Grabbed WarTech. Grabbed the last in-store copy of Trauma Center (I have a copy and figured I'd grab one for a gift and/or another CAG).

Fun!

Grabbed WarTech too. It was behind some other games behind the registers. I asked the guy if they had it, and he looked at me with this puzzled look. Then he looked behind some other games (I think a bunch of NBA Live 08) and found a few copies. When he saw the price, he was like whaaaat? He said that when they got it in a few months ago, he did not even know what it was.

I hope it is good though. We will see

Wow, I haven't even HEARD of Wartech until now, and while it doesn't sound like anything special, at that price it might end up being one of those overlooked gems to me. Man, the game sure dropped in price like a rock though...from $60 to $10 in 4 months??? Think I'll even go the extra mile and use the 10% off coupon on it in-store to get it for $9 :D

Oh, and for those asking, used PSPs (original models) are either $130 or $140 I believe.

I played this when it released to try it.. it's nothing special. It's like a one on one fighting game, but your characters are like Gradius/Ikaruga ships with some melee attacks. It's okay, but your $10 is just as good in your pocket.
Just picked up Wartech for 7.99 at BB after price guarantee. Great price for this game.
wooo... i like that. haha thats my style for cheapness.

i went ahead and ordered Wartech online. was tempted to pick it up when it dropped to $30 but now that it's $10 it was definitely a must buy.

I picked up Senko no Ronde in-store today. Both of the clerks had never even heard of it.
Unfortunately, they only had one, and it was a mucked-up display copy. Ah well, the game works so I guess it is no big deal.

Now I just need to learn how to not be awful at it.

Picked up Wartech and the girl's jaw hit the floor when she scanned it and it came up $9.99.

I got the last sealed copy they had. It's probably going to remain sealed for some time, since I have a ton of other games to play first.

Trauma Center for $30 looks tempting. Does anyone know if this is a universal price drop? If so I might see if I can get it at TRU as part of the B2G1F

I decided to get WarTech yesterday instead of Tuesday, and it is pretty fun. Nothing incredible, but not bad either. The fighting can be pretty good, and for those having trouble, you can turn it on Super Easy mode in the options. Heh, and I leave it on even while I am not playing it to get more and more hours towards the 100 hour achievement, I am already 10 percent there!
Nope, they looked it up online and saw the ad on the Gamestop site.
explain to me how you did it, should i go instore to cs and tell them gs is advertising wartech for 9.99 and what not . also cant i use a coupon making this even sweeter?

It is really easy. Print out the Gamestop webpage or bring in the aid that shows Wartech at $10, bring the game and ad up to the counter and ask for a price match. Technically you can't use any other coupons with it, but it depends on the cashier.

hey,

i'm interested in wartech, but have no gamestop/eb where i am located in Canada.

if someone could pick up a copy for me, i'd be very happy. 9.99, can't go wrong!

please pm me!

bought two copies wartech online just a minute ago. one for me and one for my brother so we can play online shooter matches. I too have been watching wartech and for that price you cant beat it. heck ikaruga will probably be 12 bucks when it comes out on llive arcade and thats a year old.

This game reeks of Japanese! I love it! Ubisoft did a great thing bringing this title here and now we can all screw Gamestop in the process by buying it way below cost and get a great game.

I started playing it, so if anyone wants to play me, my gamertag is twenzor.

PS. $9.99 + $0.60 tax - $5 gift card given to me free for being one of the first twenty people waiting for Halo 3 - I was first mind you) = $5.59 after tax :)
