FAQ:
How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

The bottle looks like this:

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 7:30am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?

Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.
Try emailing them to see if they have a manual. I just sent $5.00 (3 for the manual and 2 for the inserts) for Ogre Battle, and they sent me both! Doesn't always work though (Hoshigami). But they'll email you and ask you to pick something else. I was able to get the SMT: DDS2 soundtrack that way!
nice.. i'll have to try that.

OK, what's going on with EB's price raises? They have Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life for the GC, new for 24.99. That's a player's choice game...it should and did cost $20!

My copy of Grandia came in complete, while Dragon Warrior VII was disc only.

Curiously enough, the Grandia case was fine except for one crack, while the Dragon Warrior VII one was pieces and shards. And so I ponder to myself, was the Dragon Warrior VII case possibly broken before it had been mailed? :whistle2:s

my double disc cases frequently come in pieces as well. i think it's because the envelopes they use don't provide very good protection. surprising because the envelopes that i use personally to send out stuff provide great protection. oh well.
Gotta keep your hopes down. I had hopes that Parappa would come complete (they had 20 instock) . . . alas, arrived disc-only. $9? . . . I may return it.
Got mine today, disc only as well. Pretty weak for that price. Kinda scuffed up too.
this is sad, I actually had a dream about an update last night
Ah well, I just keep hoping that the SNES number is a result of being stuck halfway through the update (24???)
this is sad, I actually had a dream about an update last night
Huh... I dreamt about zombies.

Lunar: Silver Star Story was in, and at $24.99. Not sure if that is a price drop, but it is lower than Gamestop, which is nice. Shame it was in for about 10 seconds.

This past week I noticed that the unusual PS1 games are in and out of stock in about -1 minute-.
Not really worthy of its own thread, but not sure else where to put it so...

Tactics Ogre (GBA) - 17.99
http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=914233

Looks like a bunch have appeared in stores near me (besides the one that's been there forever that I will be getting soon), and I haven't seen it in stock online till now.
I definitely need to pick this up, as I have a bootleg from Dick Yu in Honk Hong. But not really willing to get anything short of a new copy and don't have much money as it is from buying X-Mas.

I know how you feel, but no way I'm spending $40+ on a GBA game at this point (eBay). So cart-only is the way for me.

Can't blame you there. I just wish I would've found a copy at the Circuit City sale 2 years ago for $5, that would've been nice.

I haven't watched the update or this thread in awhile, but since I went and got a new Edge card today I decided to check online. There was 5 copies of Gitaroo Man in stock for $29.99 A/C at about 1:30PM Pacific. I just ordered one and can't believe it stayed in stock well into the after noon. Is this common now or what?

3 left. No, I didn't buy it, I already have it.

It is because there was a recent re-print of the game. They still have a used copy of it at my local Gamestop for $44.99

I know about the reprint, but $30 beats $44.99 (or $40.49, if one has a Gamestop card as well).

I know about the reprint too, but I'm just surprised it stayed in stock this long. I would have expected it to been gone real early. I guess people just aren't watching the updates as much cause of the holiday week?
Very nice portable Nintendo update.

14.99 a/c. 1 left.
!!This went up to $20?!

Last time I was in EB, there were about 10 copies of this game new for $10.
I'm assuming the game went out of print and they jacked the price up, since that was the original MSRP for a new copy.

it's become pretty HTF actually. if there are still new copies in your EB, i would grab a couple.

I agree completely. Their prices as well as Gamestops are definately rising significantly. Their trade-in value for games is also declining drastically. It's either because it's the holiday season and they know that people will be out spending their Christmas money, or we could be seeing the beginning of a monopoly since Gamestop and EB are now one in the same. These two stores are the only game stores in my area, so if there isn't any competition around they are sure to raise their pricing to take advantage of the situation.
$15 for a classic nes is a good deal?
Yeah, it's a good deal for that one. Check completed listings on eBay. New copies sell for $40+.
is lunar 2 listed at $30 now BC? that's a decent deal even if it's disc only.
Yea, Lunar 2 got a price drop and is now $29.99 b/c. It's been in stock quite a bit lately with the price drop -- perhaps it's yet another reprint.
