EVO 2009: Fighting Game Championships - July 17 - 19, Las Vegas, NV (At the Rio!)

Probably not going to attend this year.

There is a concert in Seattle that is going on in August that I may be going to with a friend. Gotta save up for that. Add in I won't know until mid-June if I'll have to pay up for my Speeding Ticket.
 
for what reason would u need thrusday nite?

as I said, I'd be willing to do it but I need ppl to commit before taking the actual trip planning more serious.
 
The only reason I can think of for people wanting Thursday is because the doors open at 9 AM-ish on Friday, and I guess people don't want to risk missing a tournament by showing up late on Friday.

Unfortunately, they don't release the actual tournament schedule until a week before EVO starts, so if you're going on Friday, make sure to arrive early.

I'll be there from July 16 - 19, will be staying at another hotel though. I won't be competing (I suck), but will go and watch. Is there a list of those who are going? Should edit the 'attend list' to the first post. I'll probably be down for a dinner gathering as well.
 
But it's a dry heat. Drink lots of WATER and wear lightweight clothes. You'll be fine.

Try 90 degrees with 90% humidity. And no AC. Thats heat.

Also is anyone going to check the Tatsunko vs. Capcom??? I'm going to bring my copy with me to help support it in case there isn't enough of the game to go around.;)

Is the meet up dinner at the Bellagio?? The Buffet is amazing for 20 dollars...Hell if I save up enough I would buy some of you guys passes. The food is the best I ever had for buffet. :cool:

If people are down for late night Peppermill, I'm down for that too.

I'm maybe 5ish miles from it, just outside of downtown and past the university of Washington. You could probably take a bus here.


So, apparently I'm going to mexico for 2 weeks in july now. The good thing is I get back on the 16th, and that I get rerouted from the layover in san fran to vegas on the 16th. The bad thing is that I wouldn't get to the hotel until pretty late, like 8-ish I think.

Also, is the plan to leave the city on monday morning or sunday night? I'd like to know so I can book my return flight.
 
Alright, so now that the plans are mostly set and stuff, I'm looking at tickets. What time are we supposed to be there on friday? I'm looking at getting there in the morning or early afternoon.


Also, where are we meeting? The Airport or the hotel?
 
EVO starts the events at 9 AM on friday. I don't know what's the first tournament, since they usually post that a week or 2 before it happens.

I too would like to know where we're meeting.
 
I'm trying to find a cheap last-minute fare to Vegas.... anyone know where / how I can get one? I know sites exist for this kinda thing, but I'm not really sure what they are or anything.
 
MM, thanks for looking. For Southwest it'd be 800+ for a flight to Vegas :(

Maybe something will spring up though... I always hear it's best to buy airfare way in advance, or right before the flight. Gotta look into that, hopefully someone will be able to help me.
