Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Spoiler Discussion

I might be naive. But is there any other movie that has as good as this animation/graphics with this type of action. (fight scenes)
It seriously blew me away watching the animation. But if there other movies like this let me know and I will be all over them. I am looking for CG animation by the way.
i just finished the movie last night and i thought it was great! i had extremely low expectations b/c of ff:spirits within and also b/c i never finished ff7 (flame shield). the best part of the movie was the bahamut fight. i imagined that's what a turn-based battle would look like in real time. pretty neat hehe.

edit: since i didn't finish the game, i didn't know who half of the people were or what role they played in the game. whenever i saw vincent pop up, i kept thinking of him as moxio LMAO!!!!!
Hehe my work is done!

I'm only up to the part where Cloud meets up with Vincent in the lifestream. I need to get a new copy cause the frame rate on mine sucks ass.
want to hear fanboy... i was slightly upset when they summoned bahamut with blue materia... HELLO ITS RED!!!! 8-[
*administers a swirlie*

The last Order was good. Cloud is pretty strong guy to go through what he does in this cartoon.
All of these things almost make me want to dust the game off and play it again. But I dont know if I have the time to play through the whole thing. Grrrr, stupid Advent Children.

I watched the movie last night but today skipped around and watched some of the fight scenes. I really like this movie. I do graphic design related work, so I think I am more enamored by the animation. BUt still, I like it.

The movie was exactly what I was expecting, which is fanservice for FF7 whores (like myself). The animation itself was beautiful and the best i've ever seen, the comic relief Reno and Rude wasn't that great but did lead to a few laughs.

I don't see why anybody would bash the fighting scenes, in the games whenever they did a limit break or anything similar they jump all over the place and do some outlandish stuff IMO it translated well to the movie.

I totally agree with you as far as the fight scenes go. The were well done and just looked plain fantastic.

I thought the ending was rather cheesy.

The action sequences were completely spot on though.

The story just didn't do it for me though. The reluctant hero, the themes about family and friends, it was just SOOOOO Square and seem so overdone to me at this point.

I found it odd that I like the two Shinra lackeys more than the "team." The rest of the party besides Cloud and Tifa got like no screen time. I also found it a little meh that Square didn't animate the faces with a little dirt here and there, or just something other than pure white, bright, milky skin 24/7. It's like everyone's faces were perpetually under the protection of Loreal and Maybelline. I think scruffing up their faces a little would have added to the rawness of the action.

High points on animation, and pure style, but low points for unimaginative narrative, facial animation.

can anyone provide me with a link to download the movie just pm me so this thread won't get lock down thanks oh and don't give me any shit cause i know half you guys downloaded the leak thanks!

New to the internet?

I stayed out of this thread until I got a chance to watch the movie. I finally watched it today, and goddamn, the movie was amazing. I loved every minute of it. My favorite part was when Cloud cut the fucking motorcycle in half.

And now I want a Advent Children av/sig.

Moxio, where'd you get such good pics?
The story was good, I wouldn't say amazing. It might be confusing for people that havent played the game, so I'm not going to want to watch it with my friends that haven't, theyll be asking me all sorts of questions.
.

Just finished watching it.

Lame.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since I thought the game was lame too. FF7 had truly great music, which I still listen to, but the other parts of the game were executed poorly... making for one of the weakest games in the FF series (inferior to the other PS1 game (FF9), super nintendo games (FF4, FF5, FF6), even inferior to FF10).

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a sequel story, based upon the game, would end up totally lame.

One positive - Hopefully they'll use these polygon characters in a future PS3 game. Like a remake!

My guess is that Dirge of Cerebus (sp?) is going to show us more of the FF7 gang and what the Sierra can do.

The Turks did more than the gang.

THanks a lot, but you may want to delete the link or make it more discreet, the link could be shut down.

Yes, I fell in love with Emmy watching that movie. Simply radiant

According to your logic, wouldn't a remake of FF7 be pointless?

You do have the DivX codecs and whatnot, right? The K-Lite codec pack should keep you covered.
According to your logic, wouldn't a remake of FF7 be pointless?
No. With a remake they can fix the flaws, like tightening the script so there's no boring dead space.

And most importantly, use real-looking people instead of lego blocks. When I think "Cloud" or "Tifa" it merely conjures up images of toys. Talking, walking, goal-oriented toys who are determined to save the world, yes. But still toys, not people. I feel no emotional bond which is a serious flaw.

Plus, it will sell millions and put Square back in the black.

The *.torrent file is just a download connection. You need to get a program called "BitTorrent". Or better yet, Azureus:

just finished it. For anyone who doesn't have it yet-- I highly recommend getting the full DVD version. I also highly recommend waiting for a better translation, cause it's like someone Babelfished the whole thing. Or maybe the story just doesn't make much sense in the first place.

pretty freaking insane fight scenes, though.

Anyone know the first week sales in Japan?

The only line that didn't make any sense in the translation I had was when Yazoo and Loz are trying to tear down the monument, and they say something that pisses Reno off for some reason. In my translation file, it came up as "You don't have any faith in us, eh?", which didn't make any sense to me. Apparently, it was supposed to be something like "So he doesn't have faith in you?" regarding Rufus. Then it makes sense why Reno seems so offended.

Holy crap! It was great! The fight scenes, especially the last one, were amazing! Story lacks a it of punch but I could care less considering that everything else was damn near perfect. Maybe some more of the other characters would have been nice but still DAYMN it was hella awesome! Make sure to turn up the sounds since it sounds so awesome!
man it was a bitch to make this animated gif small enough for imageshack
 And it's already been removed...
Why does Reno say yo at the end of everything?
.

I'm pretty sure it's just a part of his speech pattern in the Japanese. Just like how he uses the "buddy" honorific when he talks about Rude (which is the same honorific that Yugi uses with the Pharoah in Yuugiou).

It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I enjoyed it. It was worth the time to watch at least. I only wish there had been more screen time of Yuffie.

Go play Kingdom Hearts. She's a character in the game, so you can go up, zoom in on "interesting bits", and state at Yuffie all day if you want. (Ditto Aeris.)

Anything I say wont give the CG in the film justice on how good it looks. The story although a little sketchy is still great, and most importantly it entertained me. I'm going to import the DVD today.

BTW I thought it was funny in the movie, Yuffie's got her arms full of little glass balls (materia). What an awkward way to carry stuff around! I wonder if Yuffie has any of those "magic balls", you know, that vibrate. ;-)
ok i wanted to play the movie but i need a codec for quicktime and suggestions?
Probably DivX / XviD.
