Flash Forward - Thursdays at 8pm/7pm CT on ABC (Not Renewed for a 2nd Season)

I've finally watched all the episodes. A few thoughts:

Mark Benford grates on my nerves a bit. I now understand how others feel when they say they hate Jack Shephard.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognized the Famous Jett Jackson.

I'd like to see more scenes with Harold and the female agent together, and less of the Benfords.

Overall, I like the show. This last episode was boring, but the one in two weeks looks good.
Of course there are going to be "filler" episodes. That's how network television works. When you have to produce 22 eps a season and a successful show runs 4-5 seasons, so-called filler is necessary. If you don't like "filler" eps then you should only be watching shows on HBO or Showtime.
Well of course there's going to be filler content, but it's easier to like the filler episodes if you actually are invested and care about the characters, which at this point I really don't. Well, I did like Keiko--which is sad considering she's been in all of ONE episode! I know, maybe they could have a Keiko and Noh spinoff!! :)
next weeks episodes looks like itll be good. lots of stuff
the press conference and getting close to demetri's killer
Yeah...if all that happens the next episode. A few other previews earlier showed more of Simon than was actually in the next episode etc.

Exactly. Filler episodes are easy to take on a show like Lost where the acting is great and you're invested in the characters.

Flashforward isn't anywhere near that level for me, so filler episodes end up getting watched while goofing online. Hell most episodes I get a bit bored and have to do something else while watching. So while the show has piqued my interest some, I guess it's still not fully grabbed me. But I'm too invested to drop it unless it really takes a turn for the worse.

"You don't know who texted you? It just showed up, no number? Or you don't recognize the number? Oh ok honey...looks like we're stumped here," says the FBI agent. Riiiiight

How long before February again? ;)

"Hmm...I could look at the phone for more than a few seconds and examine the message, or I could personally confront and alienate two people who are important in my life. Critical thinking is the key to success!"

Maybe the guys who are coming to kill him are there so they can get someone into the job with a chance of actually solving the case.

Let's start a campaign:

Awesome. I'm on board with this.

OK who plays the girlfriend of Agent Janis? It looks like Padma what's her name from the cable cooking shows, but it's not listed on her IMDB and I can't figure out who it is from the cast list.

It's Navi Rawat. She used to be on The O.C.
Well, production has shut down according to IGN- http://tv.ign.com/articles/104/1049270p1.html

Honestly, if they cancelled it I wouldn't care, but it would be nice to know the rest of the story.
Yeah, I wouldn't really care, but it would be nice if they could change the pace and wrap up the story in a season or two rather than just cancel it--sucked when Invasion got better a few years ago, but still got canceled when the season ended on a cliff hanger.

Wrapping up a story in one season just because you're getting canceled isn't always a good thing. Example: Life on Mars.

Yeah, it's kind of a lose-lose. But probably better than getting no resolution and finishing the season on a cliff hanger. I'd rather they just cancel it now and not bother making more episodes than do that.

I thought they said that there would be a resolution at the end of the season. No cliffhanger. I don't know where I read it though.
...and she has been starring on Numb3rs for the past 6 seasons.
Thank you. I knew I had seen her somewhere before and this was it.

Solid episode last night. I think more happened in that episode than all the others past the premier combined!

Bedford is getting pretty ridiculous and unbelievable as a character though.

No new episodes until March, hopefully the long break means there caught up with what they filmed and the writers can thus make some tweaks and pick up the pace etc.

Not good news. FF will now be on it's third showrunner in one season. This doesn't bode well.

http://www.tvguide.com/News/FlashForward-David-Goyer-1014745.aspx

FlashForward co-creator David Goyer is stepping down as the series' showrunner, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Goyer, an executive producer on the show and one of the writers behind Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, will still be involved with the production but is leaving behind the day-to-day duties to focus on films and directing, according to an ABC spokesperson. A new showrunner has not yet been determined.
"As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions," Goyer said in a statement. "I'm proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It's in great hands."

The move comes less than five months after the freshman series' first showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, left the series. Since premiering in September to 14.5 million viewers, the sci-fi drama has dropped notably in the ratings. The series' last new episode in December was watched by 7.3 million viewers.
FlashForward is currently on hiatus and returns March 18.

I loved the new episodes this past week. They revealed a lot while setting up some new questions. As much as I love LOST, all they seem to do is keep asking questions without providing any answers.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by the return of Flashforward. I was really expecting it to be kind of a let down after the long hiatus and all the problems it has had. But it was actually pretty solid. I'm just not sure if there's enough time between now and the end of the season to reestablish itself as a viable LOST replacement. I'm not really expecting ABC to bring it back next year. I still think it has a lot of promise though, and the season (series) finale should be amazing.

I think it will be back, barring abysmal ratings. ABC also produces the show so they have a vested interest in it's success. Shows that are produced by the networks they air on always have an advantage over other shows come renewal time.

FF is teaming to be a good show to follow. I thought they were going no where in the first few.

That 2 hour block was fantasic!

That's a good point. I guess I've just learned to not get my hopes up with new shows, haha. Hopefully it finishes strong and they have a compelling reason to bring it back.

Agree with the above posts. Those were by FAR the best two hours of the show so far.

Watched the recap and then the two hours with my girlfriend, her comment after watching was "I thought you said this show kind of sucked." To which my response was--"It did. It was never that good in the fall."

Maybe the break and getting some new writers/producers (or whatever happened) has gotten the show on track. It's a good concept, no reason it had to be so boring and plodding as most of the fall season was.

I think alot of the backstory had to be told... and now they can get to the meat and potatos we've been waiting for...
Just a recap for V tomorrow. First new episode is the 30th.
Might have to watch that recap, because we missed the last show, that or catch a recap on Hulu....

I know. It was just pretty bland as the characters just aren't that interesting to me unlike the characters on Lost.

So I'm glad it's finally getting into the plot.

Well, I forgot this was back on, and finally caught up over the last couple of days on the new episodes. I have to agree with everyone and say the break did the show a world of good!! I think it's more action-oriented, which I like.

So what's everyone's theory on D Gibbons talking to Demitri in that video? I also see a moment coming when Charlie sees Vogel and realizes he was the one who said her dad was dead. Should be good.

That was a great twist.

The obvious implication is that they found ways to push consciousness much further in the future than 2 weeks, 6 months etc.

I don't know what to make of this show. The acting is pretty bad for the most part and the execution of the story hasn't been that great either but the premise is highly intriguing so I'll continue to watch. I'm also fairly confident that this will be a one and done show. I fully expect the second blackout to occur on the Season Finale and to never hear from the show again!

Just saw the latest episode on my lunch break....God I love Hulu!

Anyways, very good episode, but the one thing that threw me off, is that if the blackout for everyone allowed them a glimpse of the future, and that future was the exact same time for everyone, how is it that Mark doesn't see his death, but that one dude confirms it? I have a feeling that he will cover for Mark, and he will say that he is dead, when in reality he's helping him with something.

Also Demitri cheating on his super hot fiancee...wow. Can't say I didn't see that coming though, they've always shown that they have some sort of chemistry between them, I gotta admit though, I initially suspected that he would be the father.

Yeah, it's definitely just a lie. Either to cover for Mark (most likely) or maybe he was involved with sending the men in masks to kill him, and was misinformed that the task was done (unlikely IMO).
That FBI dude is definitely the mole. He's totally bad.
???

I think that guy, that stated Mark is dead, is actually CIA.

Anyways, either it's a cover, or he assumes that he will be dead because he ordered the 3 to put him dead.

I guess the question, is what were they doing by Mark's house confirming his death...are they planning on taking out the other scientist dude too.
I guess the question, is what were they doing by Mark's house confirming his death...are they planning on taking out the other scientist dude too.
Hard to say on that.

They could have just been guarding his family and he got some call with the info (true or false etc.).

This is what I was thinking. And unfortunately the show's ratings are plummeting--down to a 1.4 rating last week, so it doesn't look good for another season.

Yeah, it's going to end up just like Invasion as I posted being worried about earlier in the thread.

Good premise, but start off super boring and lose tons of viewers. Bounce back and turn into a great, exciting show, but by then it's too late and it gets canceled. Hopefully it doesn't end the season on a Cliffhanger to never be answered like Invasion did!

It's only saving grace despite the low ratings is that it's produced by ABC Studios so it's more profitable than if they bought the show from another production company. It would be nice if the networks would figure out that taking a show off the air for months at a time in the middle of the season tends to be detrimental to the ratings. :wall:

I don't understand why Janice would out herself out at the end like that...

I was also getting annoyed with the keiko story quickly, glad ice picked her up.

Janice being the mole

Kinda sad that she's a bad guy, but at the same time, it's a great way to surprise us. God I hope they continue the show with S2 but I'm thinking what ever happens at the end is it for us. Show really picked up after the break...which I think is what did the show the most harm.

Show continues to pick up, definitely didn't see Janice being the mole.

Really hope this either gets renewed or they can wrap it up reasonably satisfactorily this season.

This show just keeps getting more interesting.
Dimitri and Zoey try to get married earlier but Gibbons aka Mr. Frost has other plans and kidnaps Dimitri. The preview for next week looks intense! Stan is helping Aaron investigate Jericho and find his daughter. Olivia and Llyod are getting very friendly.

Ok, anyone else ready to vomit at how incredibly stupid Olivia's character is now? For the entire season she keeps telling Mark she will never be with Lloyd, now suddenly she goes over to his house and they start smooching it up? I understand the writers had to get them together SOMEHOW, but they could've made an attempt to write it a little better, with some kind of buildup instead of her just caving in in the space of one episode...geeeeesh.... /rant

That bothered me too. I can accept that she might be a little in to him (and just unwilling to admit it), but there was really no transition from "Bye Mark" to "Hellllllloooooo Lloyd". You consoled my daughter in the park for two minutes....so now I want to jump your bones!

Then again, everyone on this show seems to have Moron Moments, so maybe it's just Olivia's turn. It's just frustrating when the strongest, smartest character does a 180 for no reason we can understand.
