Free Fable 2 "Exclusive" Limited Edition's DLC

So... it appears that some LE copies were shipped without the codes, so Microsoft is now giving them away for everyone that goes here:

and signs in with their Windows Live ID.
Yet another "exclusive" that the LE has lost :/ Good news for everyone that decided that the LE wasn't worth it after loosing almost everything that justified the price.

I was already signed into my live account before going to the link and it didnt ask me to resign in. I followed the link and it automatically filled in my email for the code to be sent and I followed the next link it stated I was all set and they will validate info and I should have my code in 10 business days. Not exactly in those words but you should get the picture. I dont think its a hack attempt as its actually on a microsoft page and if your already signed in you dont need to resign in or provide your password.
 
It's legit, though it only supposed to be for folks who didn't receive a code.

MS claims that they are able to tell when you are using a LE or not, but I doubt that strongly...

I dont. The same way they can tell the difference between you having played Halo 3 and GTA4 on your XBox account they can tell the LE and the regular version. Unless they made both game disks exactly the same, which I doubt.

But like I said in the first thread listing this deal, it cant hurt to try.
 
Most likely they have no way to regulate it and it is another "those who used the towers trick will be quite surprised when they load their character" i.e. nothing. I bought the LE so basically I payed $10 for a making of DVD that I'll use as a coaster haha. If I hadn't bought it I'm sure I'd try it out. I paid the $10 for the content and I got it. Weather everyone else in the world gets it because they paid for it or not is not my concern. Doesn't make the Hal suit any less cool to me =)
 
Haha, awesome man. MS sure fucked up on this Fable Limited stuff. Kinda makes me not want to but limited editions of games again.
 
Limited editions are never really "limited" anyways. Only a few select games they are worth getting. Bioshock became very scarce very fast, luckly I was able to pick that one up. Halo 2 and 3 were jokes. Oblivion was nice.

They are. Just like Fallout's limited edition, just like the GoW limited edition, just like the COD4 limited edition. It's the regular game with bonus contents in the case or on another disc, the game disc is the same

Haha. Wow. Well looks like we should be getting the extra DLC then. Glad I didnt get the LE:D
 
I know this thread is oldish but...

I didn't buy the collector's edition but I did just receive my code for the content. It took about 2 weeks to finally get it.
 
Now I need to buy Fable 2... I said I wouldn't buy it without an LE code... but I also said the LE wasn't worth extra money.... Now to find Fable 2 for $30... it's just time...
 
Was meaning to ask this. Is anyone elses code from the email not working? Mine says code is not valid....
 
I still haven't received a code, is there anyone who got a code who doesn't actually have Fable? Will trade for some 48hr codes if I have to!
 
Just submitted my request. They said 10 days for verification.....maybe they check your gamercard for FableII.....better pop in my copy tonight
 
I already traded mine back after buying it used and beating it in a week, but I'll definitely be rebuying it at some point -- thanks!

they cant tell if you bought it opened it and noticed that it didnt have the dlc code but you havent played it because X reason
 
yea i bought it used on ebay with the game guide for 50 shiped for the collectors editon, so that was a ok deal i think, expecially since i got the L.E download content for free, awesome game, guide is useless being as i refuse to use guides, but 50 for the game a guide was a pretty good deal so
 
Thnx for the LE code. And for ppl who say they feel sorry for the ppl who "bought" the LE, its not we made a mistake. Its worth spending an extra $10. So yea...

Same here. After not receiving for like 3 weeks, I signed up a couple more times. Doesn't seem like I'll be getting it. What a shame :cry:
 
Just signed up for it... hoping the code comes soon.

So, is it confirmed by numerous people that the regular edition using the LE code doesn't botch your game or system or anything?
'Cause I don't have the game yet, but I don't think I'd be able to find the LE version anywhere, and I'm not gonna go around searching for anything but the regular version.
