Free Xbox 1600 Marketplace card part two
really? cause i saw 1 week (i'm talking about the true.com offer).

I dont know what happened though, the guy would respond within 20 minutes of me emailing him and as soon as i sign up he stops responding, and i want to cancel this thing!
for the true offer just wait 3 days then cancel it and you will be fine. for this blockbuster offer I email the guys at the 360achiever and they said confirmation takes up to 3 days. So you can wait three days or hell even one week (cuz of the holidays) since it's free until the first week of the new year.

yeah the guy finally replyed and said to wait for the third day and contact him again if i didnt hear back from him, but the third day passed, i emailed him and nothing again.

I may wait until later today and then just cancel it if i dont hear anything from him.

You guys need to calm down. Why bother him with all that email? Just follow the extrememly easy instructions.

Enjoy for a week.
Cancel.
Wait patiently for your card.

No need for any emails or complaints on message boards.

I thought you were referring to the new Blockbuster deal. Sorry about any confusion.

I got my e-mail confirmation regarding the card. Now I'm off to cancel the Blockbuster trial.

well that's funny, i waited till the 6th day, depiste them telling me to email them on the 3rd day if i didnt hear from them, i still havent heard back from them again.

i would have prefered to receive some sort of confirmation from them before i cancelled the true.com offer, but i had to, and i still havent heard back.

Got my confirmation on the BB deal today and a reply to a previous email I sent out before Christmas.
I still havent gotten the email to sign up for this one. WTF?
I havent either. Hopefully they are just backed up sending out invites...

i wonder if i'll ever heard back about the true.com thing, they finally got back to me saying it was odd i never heard from them after even 3 days and they'd look into it, but i'm guessing i wont hear back from them for a while, if it all.
This kind of stuff is normally apt to be a scam.

-Owl
yeah i'm starting to feel scammed myself, i did everything they asked, waited 6 days, never heard back, they "occasionally" email me back saying they will send me the other offer the next day (and of course dont) or they will ask true.com whats up, but then i dont hear from them and they dont respond to emails for several more days.

Eh signed up for their original true.com offer a few weeks ago, maybe about 1 week, and the 1600 point card came in 2 days ago. Waiting for the new blockbuster offer so I can get me some more free points. This isn't a scam but if you don't feel like participating maybe he will end up sending more emails out

It seems very hit or miss. I've done the offer, did it back in late november. Never got any emails, never got my card. No responses after several emails, so I have no faith in the first or this upcoming offer.

My 2 weeks with Blockbuster end tomorrow and I've never gotten an email confirming they recieved notice or responded to the email I did send. I will send another but these people are just a tad above scam artists. At least I got 2 free weeks of Blockbuster out of it.

I have received two cards one for the 360 and another for the wii with the true promotion. I signed up for the blockbuster thing from my email. Came here to see if anyone has got their new points yet but it looks like no one has. It might be a little while before they ship but I have confidence more points will come.

yeah....not only does this dude rarely respond to emails (like when he said he'd look into the true.com thing and also send me the blockbuster offer the next day....which he didn't) but i just got charged from true.com even though i cancelled the trial.

i called them up and had to actually argue with them about it (since while the charge just showed up today, they said they "processed" my membership a week ago). I am infuriated at both these people, i dont know about you, but i'm short 50 bucks (for now) and i never got my free points card or even an email from the guy saying "hey thanks for singing up for the trial i'll send you that card" and then not doing it, i didnt get an email from him about it period.

Did you get a cancellation number from True.com? If you did there is no way that they can make that charge stick.
Did you get a cancellation number from True.com? If you did there is no way that they can make that charge stick.
no i didn't, which may have been my fault but since it was a trial i didnt take it seriously and had figured it was cancelled when i went through all the hoops to cancel it on the site, which of course i did do since i knew they would charge if you didnt do anything, so i actively cancelled it, or so i had thought (apparently you cannot even cancel it on the site, but they sure make it look like your account is cancelled). but you can bet your ass i kept the confirmation number for my cancellation and supposed "refund" (which wont clear for at least a weak according to them, but checked with my bank and that is legitimate....but if it doesnt show up i'm calling back my bank and filing a fradulent charge report, which after i described it to the guy i was asking about it said "i dont know if it would stick or not, but from the sound of it i hope it does, those guys sound like sheisters" lol at a USBank specialist using the term "sheisters" btw)

that being said though that is highly scam-worthy, as it was never my intent to do anything but a free trial, and i never heard back from the xbox dude either except for every 3 mails i send him i get an obligatory "i'll contact true.com and get back to you as well as send the blockbuster offer tommorow so you can see if THAT works" reply......of course it's been about a week since i got one of those and nothing the next day or after....unless i contact him again.

Just wanted to say that the True.com deal worked fine for me last November or whenever it was that I did it.

I can't really remember how fast everything happened now, but I remember that I got my confimration email and points card sooner than I expected. Cancelling True.com was a little bit of a hassle, but I was prepared for it. I never even tried to use their site to cancel. I just called their customer service and cancelled over the phone. It took a few minutes and of course I had to listen to the guy explain the benefits and try to give me a free extension, yadda yadda, but I got it cancelled without too much trouble and there hasn't been any unknown or unwanted charges to my credit card.

Given that it already worked before, and that I'm a little more comfortable with the Blockbuster brand, I'm going to go ahead and try this new deal. I'll let you know how it goes.

i just got the email. hows the cancelling process for blockbuster? is it all online or do i have to call in and make up stories?

You cancel from your profile online. You will, however receive about 20 come back emails from them.

yeah...if that's what you try to do you're going to be in for a nice surprise that they very conveniently put in grey text about how if you REALLY want to TOTALLY cancel that you have to call them, it's a scam in every sense of the word (why not just let people cancel right there? why even ask for a credit card for a free trial?).

oh and i never got my free points or a real explanation from the guy about that.

Got an e-mail that my card has been shipped today from the Blockbuster promo. Got my confirmation on 12/26/06 so it took a little time for them to ship it out.

I got my shipping confirmation today also.

When I check my blockbuster online account it says account is closed. No charges have been filed to my CC either. Same goes for the TRUE.com deal. I received my card about 2 maybe 3 weeks after I canceled.

and yet i got nothing and got charged, what a world.

still waiting to hear something from the guy too (and he still didnt send me the blockbuster thing that he said he'd send on like, the 3rd of january).

I never got confirmation I signed up or shipping. Gotta love how they throw darts at a board to decide who gets it and who doesn't while they recieve whatever they get from Blockbuster.

finally got shipping confirmation. Too bad there's nothing I really want yet. I can't wait for SotN to come out though.
True is still on their site and not Blockbluster..can you do both for 2 cards?
You basically have to be invited to do the Blockbuster offer. They sent out invites a while back in order of the people that completed the last offer. According to a personal email I sent them.

Still nothing...

I haven't even got my free Wii points card either. I know it's free and I shouldn't be picky... but this is kind of rediculous.

how do you get wii points??

Damn. I got the email for the BB link a long time back, but deleted it, thinking the link would be quickly posted on their site. Should've done the deal.

(I've got two 1600 point cards from these guys, and one of the Wii points cards. Still waiting on two more Wii points cards.)
