Free Xbox 360 Games (from Trainn...who is updating slowly)

I'm still waiting for a credit. They claimed I didn't send the headers the first time. I sent them the same exact thing again and they said that was what they needed. Way to go. I'm just waiting for the "march" update with GTA IV, it better hop up there soon.
To register with Bidz is free. Items are not cheap on there. The cheapest is probably $12-15 after shipping.

Some people were able to MCR without purchasing an item. You could always try that, at your own risk.
What about items in the "Fine Art" section? There's items that are $1.
What about items in the "Fine Art" section? There's items that are $1.
I haven't checked in a long time, but isn't shipping some stupid $9.99 or something?

Man, I'm waiting for the June update. :p Already have GTA4 preordered from GameStop, and the next games I'm looking forward to are Lego Indy and Battlefield Bad Company. Maybe I'll check out the Hulk and Iron Man games if they're anywhere as good as the Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was...
I haven't checked in a long time, but isn't shipping some stupid $9.99 or something?
Actually, it appears to be around $17 for shipping. Lame.

I was going to go through the process of checking out just to make sure it that ridiculous amount, but I kept looping from a "proceed to checkout" screen to a "login" screen over and over and over. So I gave up.

bidz.com is weak.
Scene It? was delivered today. Still waiting for my GH II.
Oh man. I didn't even consider that game until now. I might have to get that one while I'm waiting for the next update... Do you know if they will have dlc for this game?

The new Lego games will be hot, too.

Well, I doubt Rig, lilboo, or anyone else who had to file a W9 form last year with Trainn has received any kind of update on the tax situation. Trainn assured me it would be "sent quickly" to me, but of course I haven't gotten anything. April 15th is fast approaching, so I submitted another support ticket, stating the following:

I still haven't received any tax information for my 2007 prizes from your company. I've contacted some of my friends who also had to submit W9 forms, and they haven't received anything either.

I understand you are very busy, but you should be well aware that the national filing deadline is April 15th. Those of us who are college students have earlier deadlines to meet for financial aid purposes. I HAVE to have my taxes filed by April 1st to be eliigible for summer aid.

If I have not received any information from your company before that date, I will be forced to file without the needed information, and report to the IRS that I never received a 1099 for those winnings. I truly appreciate the great thing that Trainn does for us gamers, but I'm not going to cause myself to be audited over it.

I would gladly file without including the income I received in prizes, but wasn't that the point of submitting the W9 form in the first place? I hope this issue can be resolved quickly. Immediate attention is needed. Thank you.
I really hate to have to say anything other than "thank you" to them simply because of the fact that I've gotten so much great stuff from them. But if it was going to be like this, we shouldn't have had to send in W9 forms in the first place. Either follow protocol or don't. Hopefully they'll let me know what's going on.
What about items in the "Fine Art" section? There's items that are $1.
seriously just file the MCR.. can't hurt they'll just deny you and then go purchase an item if you want. I've done it and many others have done it too.

I got my Rock Band drums yesterday from Amazon. They shipped FedEx too, which is weird.

Anyway, allegedly shipped the 13th, received the 24th.

Argh, when are they going to update? I've been sitting on 4 credits for over a month and a half now. Unfortunately, I don't think this is even going to be a good update because not many good games are coming out in April (excluding GTA4).

I think Trainn is run by a bunch of liars. I'm getting really pissed off that they say my games are "SHIPPED" when in fact they aren't. Because if they were, I would have had gh2 and gh3 WEEKS ago.

It's a great game if you love movies. An absolute blast with 4 players. I haven't heard anything about DLC.

^^They need a DLC for that game....

or atleast another game (something like music) so I can get a better use out of those 4 sticks

yeh they lied about me getting Rainbow yesterday. they said it was shipped but it was all a lie.

PWND.

Everyone needs to relax. You're getting $60 games (and sometimes $100 bundles) for next to nothing. If it's really important to you to have something by a certain date, pay the money and get it off of Amazon. I had my GHIII bundle get to me in 3 weeks, and now I've been waiting on my GHII bundle a month and a half. Does it suck not to have my game now? Sure. Am I going to get pissed at an opportunity to get games at one hell of a discount? fuck no.

I'm sure Trainn is just overloaded with the amount of service requests and MCRs and orders coming in. I haven't read or heard anything to suggest that if you encounter a legitimate issue, they won't work with you to straighten it out. Can it take a while? Sure, but be patient and get some joy out of the fact that you found a way to legitimately get a great deal, without having to check Target everyday for clearance items.

So either calm down or stop using their site. Maybe then they'll have time to get to their grateful users' emails.

I haven't picked up my package at school yet but I entered my fedex tracking number in and it says the package weighs 43lbs???? It should be the rock band drums but I didn't know it weighed THAT much? Does fedex give accurate weights or is that just a really bad estimate? I won't find out until I return from spring break.

has anyone done netflix? how long did it take to credit and was there an authorization fee like stamps.com? i have to sign up anyway since i need to do a movie review for my contemporary film history class.

You need to stop preaching. How would you feel if someone promised you something, then told you they'd give it to you tomorrow, then did that every day? Especially when it is something they are getting paid for what we do, it isn't like they are giving stuff to us out of their pocket. Why should we be grateful towards them when they are making money off of us, yet don't give us what they promise in a reasonable amount of time, then lie about it REPEATEDLY? What if your boss "didn't feel like" giving you your check and held on to them for a few weeks, just for fucks and giggles?

Us leaving the site isn't good for them, we are the reason they are in business. You coming here preaching isn't helping us.

QFT. Just because some people aren't getting there stuff doesn't give them the right to bitch about it. I don't either, but shit. What are you doing paying like $5-10 per game, accessory, bundle that retails for over $60? Boo hoo you didn't get your stuff in as promised. That doesn't mean you're never going to get it. You will get your stuff sooner or later. You need to start thinking people. I've got all my stuff in fine and within a week of getting it. I could give a shit less if I got it a month later. As long as I got it I'm happy. You're not going to die if you do get something a couple days earlier. If you do then you care wayyy to much about games. Also if you don't like the way they handle their business then hop off and don't use the site.

This attitude that the only reasonable response is to take one's business elsewhere is wrongheaded. Constructive feedback and criticism just might help a company see the error of its ways. This sort of feedback makes markets more efficient.

It's not like Trainn is a charity giving stuff away for free. The games still cost some money, trials are required, cancellations are required, things have to be tracked. And they're getting paid major $ by the trial companies. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect good service and accurate shipping information.

The only current gripe I have with Trainn is getting tax information sent out. I don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks on a game, but the government has this little deadline for filing taxes, so I do think that's a timeline Trainn needs to follow. They claimed it was sent out at the end of January, but not a single person in this thread has received theirs. In an otherwise completely legit and commendable company, this is a little on the sketchy side...

...do you want a free game, or not?
...do you want a free game, or not?
Sure I'll take a free game. But they aren't giving free games, I am completing offers (making them money) and going through the hassle of either canceling them or staying on board with them for a pre-dertermined fee on their end upon payment from the offer company. Even after they get the money from the offer company, it takes a no less than two weeks and up to a couple months to get my payment from them. How would you feel if you went and bought something from eBay and they shipped it to you two months after you order or if you get your check from work two months late on a regular basis?

The truth is, there are competitors now, and I've gladly stopped using this site for the most part, as I know it is unreliable and not worth the hassle of e-mailing them after the same thing has been "lost in the mail" for the FOURTH time in a row (yeah right).

As I said, I'll take a free game anytime, but I won't do business with suckass companies, and TRAINN is one.

I think people (myself included) are just tired of reading the constant/daily b*tching in this thread. I think most people are well aware of TRAINN's shipping and communication issues. If you don't want to deal with the slight hassle to get games extremely cheap/easy, then don't, no one would blame you. But seriously, shut up about it already.

Nice, freecreditreport just credited - just about 48 hours after completion. Just waiting on overnight genius MCR and Rock Band is mine.

Finally got my GHIII bundle. TRAINN listed one shipped on 3/10, and the other on 3/16, but Amazon said this one shipped 3/15. So I assume it's the 3/10 one, and the 3/16 one shipped around 3/21 or so.

Either way, it came via UPS from Amazon, with an order number, so it's going back for gift credit. When I placed the orders, I'd planned to keep the bundles to use on Rock Band, but now the real RB guitars are almost out, and it seems silly to keep a game I probably won't play.

I read the game review on teamxbox.com last night. 7.8, so that not's too bad. The only thing that concerns me is that this game came out in Nov. 2007, and there's still no dlc. With only 1800 questions, it seems like the game might get stale rather quickly.

Oh, and I got RSV2 yesterday. Thanks, Trainn! Now, if you would only process my MCRs...

Has anyone submitted a photo with their "free" gifts for the site?

I was going to order it, but my Target has like a billion copies, as does Wal-Mart. Scene It looks like a lot of fun, but it screams future clearance title to me. Unless you want it now, I'd wait to buy it on the cheap and save your credits for something you know won't drop.

Netflix is great if you don't mind waiting a long time for credit. If I remember correctly, it credited about 3 weeks after I signed up. You are required to stay until the trial is over and become a paying member--which I had no problem with since Netflix is a fantastic service. As for an authorization fee, I used a credit card and nothing showed up on my card.

I agree with spiderman.. although I have finally gotten all my games, and just waiting for my last game to ship.. I'm okay. After finding out more information about how these companies work, I agree, they could be more accurate in providing shipping dates etc. I mean if these companies can "afford" to pay out thousands of games at ~$60 a pop, I figure they can get better help. I won't complain b/c this site has done me a lot of good, but I think it isn't run too great. I'm trying out mega freebie and giving them my business now so we'll see how it goes.

Hmm, my GHIII went "shipped" Feb 20th, I filed a support ticket Mar 15th, the reply was that it would reship the 17th, still nothing; think it's time to file another support ticket or should i wait a bit longer?

I'd send it again if I were you.

I'm sure you guys can understand my frustration. It just gets irritating when someone constantly says they will do something, but doesn't. I know I'll eventually get my games, but I would have loved to have had it during spring break, and receive it during my little sisters. But yes, I'll still do business with them, because I'm getting games for next to nothing :)! Sorry if I sounded like some whiny b**** earlier.

just signed up for eMusic. No email or credit so far. I read that it takes a couple of days. Hoping it credits & wont be another MCR :(

This will give me enough credits to order GTAIV, once they do the next update.
After that I think I will be done for awhile.

I just got charged another $15 by Scholastic, after having NEVER received any books from them. I ordered the books under a month ago. I'm going to call them and bitch.

I got another bill in the mail from them today, too. Got one last week too. EVen though I cancelled a long time ago.

Thankfully my card hasn't been charged and I kept record of my cancellation number.

All companies are required by law to send out any tax forms postmarked by January 31st. I would try contacting the IRS about it.

I don't recall if I mentioned it, but I actually bought something off Bidz. Just a small necklace for my wife (which was cool, because it arrived the day before our anniversary). It was just a small, cool looking silver and onyx necklace that I "won" for $9...but the shipping was either $10-something or >$30. I took the 10 dollar shipping and got it in a couple days.

I signed up on 3-17, but it was available to do an MCR today (9 days later), so I filed an MCR on it. I also emailed Trainn last week asking if they needed anything to prove I won an item, and then filed a support ticket on Saturday asking what they needed now that my item had arrived. Nothing yet on either.

EDIT: I just checked, and my support ticket filed on 3-22 was closed with the usual "We haven't heard back, file an MCR, etc." I responded (which re-opened the ticket) saying that I did file an MCR and that I had other proof of winning I could provide.

Also, of note, this was on the PS34free side, where it seems you can file an MCR after 7 dyas, not 10 like I have had to do with YF360G in the past.
Does Zooba ALWAYS refund the 9.95 or whatever back after you cancel? and has anyone ever need a MCR?
I don't remember if they refunded the first time, but it has credited for me twice now nearly instantly.

I'll let you know in a few days if they refund the 9.95...

They actually refunded $19.95 for me :whistle2:\ lol

Can I return a game/accessory to Amazon and get a Gift Certificate in exchange?
No. Amazon used to send gift certificates to uses that did this. Then, too many people took advantage, and Amazon noticed they were all gifts coming from Trainn. They now usually ignore the requests, meaning you send back your game and get nothing. You'd have to jump through many hoops with Trainn and Amazon to even try and get anything back. Definitely not worth the trouble (and risk).

Rig, what are your sources for this?

EDIT: Never mind, I found my answer in an old post.

You might want to update the OP on this matter so no one gets confused.

The reason the return process was tedious before was because the gift return process was faulty, it had nothing to do with people taking advantage of anything. It has since been fixed and there hasn't been an incidence of error in returns in a long time.
