Free Xbox 360 Games (from Trainn...who is updating slowly)

You'd likely have a hard time convincing the IRS that it's hobby income, and you really should be claiming it on Schedule C and paying self-employment tax. However, if you're not just slapping it on line 21 (Other Income) every year, I'd be really surprised to see anything further happen (assuming you claimed the same amount Trainn reported to the IRS). I wouldn't lose any sleep over it--even if you get "caught," pointing a finger and crying ignorance should at least get you out of interest and penalties.

Yeah, that's basically what I'm hoping for. I came to the conclusion that by at least putting it on there in some form (I didn't recieve a 1099...what the hell else can I possibly be obligated to do? Trainn's the one legally required to send it), hopefully I'll look like "Mr. Honest Joe Citizen". I didn't lie in any way. I used Turbotax, and it asks "Did you receive any 1099 forms?"...not "Should you have received any 1099 forms?"

Like I've said, it SHOULDN'T be a big deal because regardless of how you want to categorize it, obtaining these games through Trainn did not cause me to "save money for other things". The bottom line is, without the opportunity to obtain these games for cheap, I simply wouldn't own them. Trainn didn't pay me wages for completing these offers. They awarded prizes. How can you say that's "income" and keep a straight face? It's a joke.
 
Waiting for some new offers here.. I'm running low on options both here and on Megafreebie.

Also, UPS came today without my GH2. I'm getting pissed.
 
there was a discussion before about whether or not it was okay to do the same offer on different sites and after searching through trainn's terms the answer is no. please see the excerpt from there site:

4. Users may only participate and receive credit for unique completions. If you have previously signed up or have an account with the advertiser, you will not receive credit and risk your account being locked as advertisers limit offers to one per individual.

i know it has worked for some people but def not recommended.

I just got credit for FreeCreditReport after signing up a couple of days ago. I'll probably wait for the update to come and then decide on something.
 
weird, so what's the deal w/ zooba now? it's like bomc2? I haven't been around this thread long, I signed up for zooba again but via the megagames.. I know you're not supposed to but I tried it. is the cancellation # still the same?

I wouldn't get points unless you plan on using them for Rock Band or GH dlc.

My second GHIII was shipped on 3/16 and isn't here yet. My first GHIII shipped on 3/10 and arrived 3/24, so based on that timetable, I should've had this one on Monday... but it's already Thursday.

Seems like it's just getting slower and slower on those big bundles. I'm glad this one's my last.
 
Still waiting on my GHII as well. I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and pre-order Too Human, since there's nothing else that strikes my fancy coming up (and I already have GTAIV and Battlefield: Bad Company taken care of...).

Will Trainn pre-order it, or will they just file the order until it is released?

Ok, I'm new to this free game site, but I have 3 games ordered (processing).

I got the Guitar Hero II and III bundles. One of each. Looks like they are kinda slow getting them out. Anyone have an estimate for me of when I might get it? I just submitted the order today...

Am I looking at something more like 2 weeks, a month, longer?

I placed two GHIII bundle orders last month.

1. Ordered 3/2, got the "shipped" email 3/10, arrived 3/24.
2. Ordered 3/10, got the "shipped" email 3/16, has not arrived yet.

So my guess is that they're running about 3-4 weeks from order placement at this point... but then, my second set of data isn't even complete. :/

Probably closer to a month. It usually takes about a week for it to move to "shipped," sometimes sooner. Then it's the waiting game for it actually get shipped and arrive. GHII and GHIII are probably the most popular orders along with Rock Band stuff, and for some reason (no clue why) they take longer to process than other games.

It's better for your sanity if you plan on waiting a month, then if you get it sooner, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
 
Question about MCRs:

Sometime I click on an offer more than once, sometimes to just look at a few different ones before I make a decision which offers to do. When I file for a MCR, does it matter which Click ID I use to submit the MCR, or does it not matter as long as it is for the correct offer?

For Gamefly, can you cancel with a game still out? I was going to put it in the mail tomorrow, but problem is that it won't get there until Monday or Tuesday and my next billing period is Sunday, and I want to cancel before then to avoid any future charges. Can I cancel it now while the game is still out?

I canceled Gamefly and they said to ship it back to them in the next 2-3 days.

Also when is the next update coming up? Got my Bidz MCR through and wanted to get another game mainly GTA IV.
 
Just did the stamps offer, I remember reading that you had to stay a member for a specific amount of time or your account would be canceled. For those that did that offer when did you cancel it? After how many days?

And what is up with trainn??? They said like mid-March that an update was coming in a week.... they really need to hire some more people over there, they are too understaffed for the kind of traffic these sites are getting now. I'm sitting on two credits and it's getting a little irritating :drool:

Thanks guys. I'm moving in month and a half so I just want them here before that. I'll forward all my mail when I move but would rather not deal with the hassle if there's a mixup.
