Game Crazy---- Classic Plastic going to 2 for $5.00 soon!

ctice44

CAGiversary!
This deal isn't happening right now.....but keep your eyes peeled. We just got the signs in today! ALL CLASSIC PLASTIC is going to 2 for $5.00. For those of you that don't know what is included in "classic plastic" it is: NES, SNES, N64, GEN, Dreamcast, GB, GBC, and PS1. Also, it makes no different what the sticker price is...it qualifies for the sale.
Right now the classic plastic is 3 for $10....and, like I said earlier, I have no idea when it is suppose to change over...but it is soon since we just got the signs.
Trust me, as soon as I hear something I will keep you all updated.

Edit: I just got back and the 2 for $5 is going on NOW!!

The hotmails aren't printing right now so our DM had to deliver our bar codes to scan. The code is "CGCC2FOR5".....enjoy!!!
Ask for the district manager's number. All classic plastic is 2 for $5.
Will do. I ended up buying 3 (Mario 64, Resident Evil 2, WCW/NWO Revenge) at $3.33 each, even though I asked if they were 2 for $5. Was clearly told that it's only for the old sports games (NBA Showtime, NFL Blitz, etc.) in the bin.

Haha whoever told you that is so full of crap! That would be pretty funny though. Nothing moves disc only copies of 10 year old madden games like 2 for 5!

Get it adjusted and speak to the guys manager if he gives you guff. Ask him to show you the difference between a game he grabs from behind the counter and a game you grab in the bin.

Sad to see GameCrazy isn't accepting trade ins for Classic Plastic anymore but I can't say I didn't see it coming. At least there are other places around here that still carry older stuff.

Most of the GameCrazys around here are pretty cleaned out but sometimes I'll see a few decent non-sports games that I didn't see on my last visit. I'll have to check and see if there's anything worth getting.

Thanks for the heads-up OP.

I was told that in my local gamecrazy that one needs to have the gamecrazy card in order to get the 3 for 10 deal. Is that correct or was this guy being a ass?

He is totally wrong!! You need to talk to his manager or DM if he gives you any grief. The sale is for everyone! I understand he is just trying to get any MVP, I use various tactics also, but he cannot charge you full price for 3 classic games.
...and BTW this sale is not YMMV, the people at the stores that have 3 for 10 just hasn't updated the signage. The hotmails (at least at my store) don't automatically print anymore- you have to print them off the website.
I will admit Earthbound is asking for too much. But it seems more than adequate payment for all the time and wasted gas money. It doesnt mean I wont stop trying. But its still a bit frustrating to hear about people who wont even play the games. Just throw them somewhere to collect dust and increase in value. I honestly dont know who is worse the ebay flippers or the "collectors."
Man if you wanna just play these games sooo bad then get yourself some *cough* "legal" roms *cough*, since your all about just playing the game. And Id rather see a game collector have the game over someone just flipping it on ebay.

No issues at the one in Indianapolis; in fact, the guy who was there saw me looking at Game Boy games and made sure I knew about the 2 for $5. :)

Found a Saturn with 11 games (including Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Cop with a lightgun), Kid Icarus for GB, Legend of Legaia, Crystalis (NES), Survival Kids, and Kirby's Adventure for a grand total of $55.

Thanks a lot, OP! I don't get to GC very much since there's only one in the metro area, but this was definitely worth it.

You found Saturn games at your GC?

I hate you.
You found Saturn games at your GC?

I found some Saturn games at my local GC as well. Nothing to get excited over though. Mainly sports, Bug!, and the half dozen or so versions of VF1.

I called 2 of the gamecrrazies I frequent and the first one said something about waiting for his manager to come back so he didnt know and the other store told me that the 3 for $10 is a better deal anyways..........

I checked two stores today; one had the old signs up, and the other had the two for five with all of their remaining stock in the middle of the store.

Unfortunately, I didn't find anything worthwhile. Lots of wrestling and Madden for the N64, almost no Game Boy, and no NES, Genesis, or SNES titles that were worthwhile. The store in Fraser did have a ton of PS1 games (and, for some reason, a copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Dreamcast), but I didn't bother to dig through them because I can't play them.

Great find! I kiss my saturn games goodnight everynight, albeit theyre all imports but I love em to death.

Went to the local Game Crazy today. They still had the 3 for 10 sign up and the guy didn't seem to have heard of the change until I reminded him of it and then he checked a printout and found that it was indeed in effect. Got 4 mediocre PS1 games to play on my PSP or PS3. (Their selection of older games wasn't not great.) Interestingly, they had a "swag box" filled with old preorder bonuses and other stuff and they said anyone preordering a game or joining the MVP thing could have their pick of what was inside. So I preordered Final Fantasy Tactics for PSP (since I knew I was going to get it at full price anyway) and dug into the bin.

Found three game guides: Fable, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, and Scarface, plus a demo version of Puzzle Quest for the PSP and an Xbox 360 pen :) Anyway, I was happy.

I've tried to find GameCrazy twice in my area based on the store locator, twice, two different locations, got to the right place on the map just to find nothing there. Eh, I'm sure it's all been picked through by ebayers by now anyway.

They are inside hollywood video locations if that is all you were running into.

My local store has yet to put this deal into effect. Sadly it looks like with the end of classic trades it does not really matter anyway.

this sale certainly has been a clusterfuck with all the "only on sports games" "only on this bin" "only for MVPs" Bullcrap.

Leave it to the DMs to enforce this stuff.

Well that's pretty hilariously incompetent on gamecrazy's web team's part. I DID notice a hollywood video in each location, but I figured they would at least have a SIGN up or something if there was a gamecrazy inside. Not even one mention of it on the site, or in the store locator. Ah well. No big deal.

Scorch and Gara, all is well. Got it fixed today, as the clerk said the kid just must not have been fully informed of the sale. Did a return/rebuy on Mario 64, Resident Evil 2, and WCW/NWO Revenge, and added 1080 Snowboarding to it free of charge. Might head back tomorrow and see if the other GameCrazy in the area has anything of note. Might be worth it at least to pick up Waverace and Perfect Dark.

I think SoCal is pretty dried up in classic plastic, all the great finds are in the middle states where merchandise seems to sit for longer periods of time.

Its going down at my local store and my buddy told me that they are no longer accepting 'plastic' games anymore... And for some reason gamecube games? I'm not so sure about the gamecube games, because I think he flipped his wig. And I know this is probably YMMV, but it had to come sometime when GC stops accepting older games... I'm gonna check up on the GCN stuff though, that sounds a bit BS to me.

But if this will be nationwide, better hit them stores now and get all the mario/duck hunts and Golfs ya can, because the last time I looked there, mine had crap crap crap.

Sorry man pretty dried up here for my Middle state, My local GC has at least 2 ebay hoarders who clean it out..

It's been active since earlier this week, and yes, GC isn't taking trade-ins on classic plastic stuff.

Though Gamecube games are still fine to trade in.

That doesn't make any sense - the demand for GameCube games shot up with the Wii. Why would they stop selling them now? :whistle2:s

I went to the Fraser Gamecrazy at lunchtime and hit the PS1 games. I picked up :
Ninja: Shadow of Darkness
Soviet Strike
Nuclear Strike
Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions
Dino Crisis
Air Combat
Shadow Man
Apocalypse

Thanks for the tip. I was at the Warren store yesterday and they still had the 3 for $10 signs. Was that the other store you went to? Anyway lots of nothing at that location.

I checked both GCs in Fort Wayne. I checked the maplecrest one yesterday and they didn't have any new signs up or any barcodes for a 2 for 5. The Dupont one only had the 3 for 10 signs up. I didn't ask since they were busy.

went today and can confirm both are doing 2 for 5. BUT they have no clue where the barcode is So they cant sell the games until the manager comes in.

The only have around 10-15 gameboy games left Nothing worth buying
i didnt see anything worth buying at either store.

Guess I was wrong. I wonder if classic accessories are includes as part of the classic plastic sale? Those are the only things left that I might buy as part of that sale. Neither of the stores had anything that I was interested in terms of games.

From what I understand, yeah, the accessories are 2 for $5 too. The one I went to had 3 N64 memory cards in the bin. But I did manage to get Donkey Kong Country 2(SNES), Mario is Missing(SNES), Actraiser(SNES) & Sega Rally 2(DC) for $10.

Wow Vancouver has like 4 or 5 game crazys. Anyway on my to the post office to ship someone a game I popped into one and scored 2 for $5 Pokemon Gold and Twisted Metal 1 complete GH edition. I almost got pokemon blue and Donkey Kong for the orginal Gameboy but some little snot nosed kid got to them first. Might have to check out another store in my area.

scored today. got Timestalkers (Dc & complete), King's Field II, Dead or Alive and bushido blade. they didnt have anything else. but oh well. i actually didnt even check the gameboy i was busy listening to the gamecrazy employees talking about how people are reporting their company in general to BBB.

holy crap, now i gotta find me a local gamecrazy

wonder if the deals online...if so, dc games here i come!
btw how much is a n64?

There is only one GameCrazy in the OKC area and it has nothing but sport games. The GameCrazy in Midwest City is being converted back into Hollywood Video.
That doesn't make any sense - the demand for GameCube games shot up with the Wii. Why would they stop selling them now? :whistle2:s
I went down and asked Rob (the head manager) about it and I guess they're not accepting Gamecube Consoles and Accessories. Or just Accessories. Thats all my friend had GCN wise was a controller and they wouldn't take it. Rob told me they have GCN stuff up the assload and can't take anymore. I don't think he meant games, but just acc.

I made a nice pickup today of Donky Kong 64 and Kirby 64. Almost got Starfox 64 instead of Kirby because I almost didn't see Kirby because of the picture on the cartridge being torn off, but luckily the bottom of Kirby's feet was still visable and I put two and two together.

So I picked up No one can stop Mr. Domino, disc only today. I also got Zelda Link's Awakening for old school gameboy.

I also so tons of crummy sports games, p1 and DC. The n64 and SNES games selection was mostly crap, but there might have been a few wrestling games for 64 and I think there was Bass Masters for 64.

But I would be tempted to go back and get some more ps games. They had Tony Hawk 1(disc) or 3 (complete), Syphon Filter 1 (complete), and/ or maybe Spyro (complete). I also saw oddworld, anyone played this? I played the one for xbox and I was not impressed. I also saw a copy of disc only Destrega and Incredible Crisis, are either of those games worth picking up and playing? Or better yet if you guys want them just let me know.

Well I stopped in a gamecrazy today and noticed the 3 for 10 signage was still up so i asked the manager if the 2 for 5 was starting soon and he looked at my like I was a fucking idiot.

He said he has never heard of that and if any other store has that going they are wrong...still ended up being 3 classic games just because I couldn't pass them up...

Resident Evil Complete for Sega Saturn
Chrono Cross Original Complete
Evolution for Dreamcast Complete

Good to see the managers out there are well informed.

Okay. That makes more sense. :)

I can't help but think that there's going to be a run on GameCube controllers when the new Smash Brothers comes out. Even if the game works with the Wiimote or the Classic controller, I'm expecting most of us to default to the safe and easy GameCube controller. :D

I grabbed RE 3 and House of the Dead 2 for DC. I also found Gunstar Heroes at the bottom of a bin that I thought only had old sports games. I was so happy, only $2!

Edit: What's that in your sig, Scorch?! GC can't stop Classic Plastic, I'll have no where else to buy pre-PS2/Xbox/GC games (B&M)!

They stopped taking in trades on older stuff. I'm pissed off at it. And now i'm more pissed off that your store had RE3 on DC! And House of the Dead! I hope those weren't complete or else I am going to cry.

went to Game Crazy and got

megaman x4 ps1 - complete -
megaman x5 ps1 - complete -
ms.pac-man maze madness DC - complete -
carrier DC - disk only -

and in very good condition just very light scratches
also picked up Siren for the Ps2

all came out to just under $20$ :)

Like with House of the Dead 2, I didn't even know if HotD 2 was good or not, but I like the arcade so I bought it. RE3 doesn't have the manual and the case is beat up pretty bad, lots of cracks and scratches. House of the Dead 2 is without the case and the manual has fallen apart. As long as the discs work, I don't really care.

For the first time ever I got a good deal at the crazy classsic plastic, usually when I go all thats left are old sports titles. Went to gamecrazy earlier today to buy some blitz the league & ant bully's to flip at blockbuster & ended up w/ these beauties:

All came complete w/ box and instructions for $10 total. I found it funny that the carmen sandiego was marked at 9.99 while the lufia I & II only 4.99 each.
